A few tables are available but with no shade. You are also next to a dog park, hiking trails, basketball courts, baseball fields, and tennis courts. There is something for the entire family. I lost my dad 7 years ago but as I was standing on the pier I could hear him yelling at me as if I were purposely catching puffer fish that he had to fight off the hook. Yes, I admit to getting teary eyed with nostalgia. It is a really cute beach with a nice jetty. The pier is great for high tide fishing and low tide viewing. The water is super clear with no snags or rocks to catch your line.

It sits at the opposite end from the free "first" beach and in between is what we always called the "swing" beach for obvious reason. This beach sits next to the Smugglers Beach motel which I think was changed to condos many years ago. The beach has a large boat ramp for launching boats and the ramp used to be free but now the town charges to launch. The beach itself also charges to park. Overall the largest beach and it sits at the mouth of Bass River and has a pier to fish from.

The path itself is in great condition. It is shaded for almost all of the section we did. The pavement is mostly smooth - any bumps from roots underneath are spray painted yellow so you see they are coming. On the section we rode, the sides are not overgrown so there is room to move over for others passing. Other riders and users were all friendly and respectful- ringing bells or announcing their approach. We rode about 7 miles East from our parking spot, taking a nice break for lunch at Seymour Pond. Some of our party went swimming! We were all thankful for the plentiful bike racks, many benches, and a clean porta-potty. This was definitely a highlight of our time on Cape Cod.

Well marked trail that made a loop connecting with the paved trail. Another nice little walk. There are several picnic tables scattered around, a restroom, playground area, gazebo and large open field that could be used for tossing a ball or frisbee.

Lakes hills and…read moretrails The Princess Beach Conservation Area is a lovely parcel of land that includes a beach on fresh water Scrago Lake and pleasant trails that branch off into the woods in all directions. Most of the trees are pines so the hiking is very soft because of the pine needles, and the smell of the pine trees and ocean mixing together is wonderful. Scrago Lake is a whole lot warmer than the always cold as @#$% direct ocean beaches of Cape Cod Bay and usually much, much calmer. A nice place to bring the family and little kids when you don't want them to drown, get washed out to sea, or get eaten by giant kraken. There is a fee for parking cars during the summer but if you happen to know someone in the area they'll probably have a sticker and you can bum a ride with them. There is no charge if you bike or walk and in the off season you can park anywhere you want. A lovely and peaceful little area that is a very pleasant place to explore, take a short and easy hike or perhaps do some swimming. A great place to spend some time and energy no matter what the season.
