I was in search of tasteful Puerto Vallarta-emblazoned shirts and found some! ATMOSPHERE: It's a small outdoor courtyard surrounded by souvenir shops including a small open air bar in the middle. EXPERIENCE: The shop I purchased from has no sign posted but they're on the right side, smack dab in the middle if you're entering from the Malecón. The simplistic designs on display caught my eye. They had a multiple BOGO promo which we took advantage of. Pricing was fair, about $15 USD each. Credit cards accepted. Service was attentive and friendly. Our place was right around the corner from this market so we stopped by each morning for the…read morewellness juices which were literally life saving to make it through the heat of the day!! We pretty much stockpiled them during the week so we could keep cold ones in our fridge at the Airbnb. Had lunch at Los Reyes in the center of the market and had a great experience! The staff we super nice and hospitable, even though there was definitely a language barrier between us haha! My sister and I shared the enchilada (Michoacán) style and chicharrones in green salsa (salsa verdes). As a mid-day dessert, I highly recommend the Loukoumades at the Greek stand across the isle and Greek coffee! To die for!!!

Coffee can be bought from locally sourced plantations. Carnecerias, fish market, fresh tortillas, fresh cheese, fabrics, helado (gelato), gift wrapping bags and paper, crafts, and definitely the best tacos and chili rellanos we've ever had (we're from SoCal) at Taquito Rogue. Three tacos, one rellano, two Modelo Negro set us back with tip $15 US. The Farmacia is there along with El Medici, an Italian restaurant, very local. Gotta learn to habla español poquita enough to use Spanglish. And that's just one small part of the market. It's safe. Local culture. Charming.
