It is turning into more of a professional office building. There are doctors, dentists, attorneys, engineers, etc. There are also cleaners, nail salons, hair salons and some boutique stores. The anchor tenant is Mega with everything you need from groceries to liquor to paint to car tires to appliances (fridge, TV, juicer - you name it). There are restaurants around the perimeter like Jeans Hamburgers (awesome), Los Molcajetes (very good), Moka Café (great coffee and lunch) and a few others I have not tried. Parking is cheap ($6MX for 2 hours?). La Isla this is not, but if you must go to the grocery store, stop by and walk around a bit. It is mostly locals and not touristy other than expats going to Mega from the Marina condos.

There is also an indoor play area for kids, which is a nice break for parents to enjoy some air conditioning while allowing the kids to burn off some energy! There is a also a small tienda if you need a few grocery items but Sunset Market is more expensive than Chedraui or Sam's club. You can. catch an Uber for about $5 from the Paradise Village Marina to Sam's Club or Chedraui if you need considerably more provisions for a lot less money and better selection.

They offer free delivery if you're staying at Paradise Village but definitely give a tip. Laundry Services There is also a laundromat located on the first floor near Dominos Pizza. Convenient if you need to wash your clothes. Buy laundry soap at Sunset Market. Ice Cream Ice Cream shop called Buonissimo is good. I like the coffee flavor. What I Do Not Recommend: Restaurants Don't eat at the restaurants. Food is bland. Instead drive or take taxi/uber to local spots like Los Alcatrazes and El Coleguita. Souvenir Shops There are random souvenir shops and stores hours vary. Seems like a ghost town. But make sure you are charged in the local currency and check your receipt before leaving. We bought some items at one of the souvenir shop and were told the prices and total in pesos. We said we wanted to pay in pesos but after arriving back in the states noticed we were charged in US dollars and ended up paying much more than expected and no way to resolve. So buyer beware. Mail Services There is a mail box (correos Mexico) located on the first floor at the entrance of Sunset Market. However, locals and staff are not familiar with how the postal services work, many don't know what postage stamps (aka timbres) are. You have to find a Correos de Mexico to buy postage and mail your postcards. This plaza does NOT sell post cards and does not sell postage stamps. There is a bookstore on second floor that offers package services. They also do not sell postage stamps. Buying postcards and stamps in Mexico seems to be an impossible task. You need a Correos De Mexico to buy postage stamps and mail your postcards. Good luck finding one that's open and operational. They don't answer calls. No automated voice recording either..

That's what Plaza Caracol is. There really aren't any stores worth visiting for, but wandering around is kind of like going back in time. The mall is a full on maze - caracol means snail in Spanish, and you will walk in circles and get lost. There is a Soriana grocery store smack dab in the middle, and a Dairy Queen. Across the parking lot, you'll find a plethora of cellphone accessories, a vape shop and other odds and ends and a bank.

Adj: Super Sufficient for Souvenirs!…read more This is the "famous" Walmart in Puerto Vallarta, (State of) Jalisco in Mexico. Every (or most) Mexican Riviera cruise stops at this port. After a full and fun day walking along the boardwalk/ocean front of PV, we stopped here for some souvenirs. This is the place to come for some little knick knacks pattywacks to bring home for loved ones and friends to bring them back little gifts and this Walmart definitely had a whole bunch of the keychains, little shot glasses, and other cutesy types of gifts. The store also had everything you'd expect from a Walmart from food fresh and pantry-shelf-stable, to clothing and shoes, to candies and snacks, to electronics and home appliances, to toys (esp. water toys and beach favorites) and games. Service was efficient and friendly with my very limited Spanish (they're used to tourists, I'm sure), so checkout was quick and easy. Overall, this Walmart was big, clean, and nice and neat and the prices were significantly better than the souvenir gift shops that are obviously tourist traps right at the cruise terminal, so a short walk here was worth it, even though we took a taxi on the way back to the cruise ship from the boardwalk, we did walk back to the ship after shopping here.

Americans love the place even more when they find it's excellent for air conditioning, accepts credit cards, has bathrooms and ATMs. What they don't have is good customer service. Quality interactions at Walmart should never be expected but the effort seems to be minimal across the board. A few other things to know is that the pricing is on part with the US and there are no fitting areas. Lastly, what's a Walmart without immense parking? There are plenty of spots, but it's not free. The 24 hour lot is $12MXN per hour and lost tickets can cost as much as $80MXN. Leave the bus stop for locals and the walking for the rest.
