Saturday 7/20/2019: I always enjoy hitting flea markets on Saturday mornings when vendors cram into every table or stall vying for your business. I've never been to the Tallahassee Flea Market but have driven past it many times without having the time to stop. I am glad I finally got to check it out, spending time perusing the mix of items for sale including baby bunny rabbits, automotive tires, antiques, clothing, shoes, housewares and more all while munching on exotic lychee fruits! Sweet! So what's not to like? So on a morning when the Flea Market should have been sprawling with vendors and customers, it was instead rather sparse on both accounts. There were way more empty vendor tables and stalls than there were occupied. Most of the vendors seemed to be long term Flea Market regulars that are like permanent fixtures there. So as I walked the entire Flea Market I wondered why there aren't more vendors, and hence probably more customers... I would return if I was looking for an "off the wall find." I did make some fresh vegetable purchases before leaving. read more

Amazing items every time I go there there's always something different it's incredible every time I go

I remember my first visit to this Flea Market - back in 1990. I love it today as I did then, and return again and again for the same reasons: 1. A very broad range of commerce. From the aisle barkers to the most timid of vendors, you're going to experience a colorful morning or afternoon when you come here. Additionally, some of the vendors are cash-only - some take plastic - and a growing number are up to speed with virtual transactions (paypal, google wallet, etc...). I wouldn't be surprised if there were one or two that knew their way with Bitcoin. 2. A seemingly endless pool of merchandise for sale. As broad a range of commerce, the range of merchandise is even broader. Some vendors specialize is narrow bands of merchandise (e.g., focusing on used DVDs, selling knives/blades only, selling barnyard animals only) - Some vendors specialize in not specializing in any particular collection (er, the warehouse of sorts at the end of Aisle D (I think) could rightfully be dubbed a "Generalist") - and some folks have a good in-the-middle approach to the market (e.g., we sell produce of all sorts / we sell all sorts of clothing / etc...). 3. Interacting with all sorts of people. You'll be hard-pressed to find any segment of our local demographics absent from the flea market. I can't think of another venue in Leon County where so many divergent cultures are all together as they are here. Both buyers and sellers alike are diverse and coming to a common understanding (through a closed deal) right here at the Flea Market Tallahassee! If you're new to town - come check out the Flea Market. If you've been in Tallahassee all your life, but for some crazy reason, have never visited the Flea Market - come check out the Flea Market. Went in late morning before the crowds got thicker...lotsa parking and mixed stores of everything. Used clothing...toys...tools. Baby animals and plants for the gardener. Near entrance are the veggie vendors...picked up 6 corn for 2 bucks. Beware the peanuts tho...ask for sample before you buy...got stale bag once. Had some cheese fries for 2.50 plus tax....people watching couldn't be beat. Lots of fans to keep you cool....had enjoyable hour plus visit.... read more

This flea market is dying. It is clear from the way that only about half of the tables are occupied. I suspect it is partly due to the exorbitant cost of table rentals ($23 a day). Owners get greedy and forget that they need vendors to draw the customers and customers to draw the vendors. It is a symbiotic relationship. Pricing vendors out of the market will surely kill this flea market. read more

This place is thrifting heaven. If you're really looking, I'm sure you could find anything in this maze of forgotten belongings and knick knacks. Okay, the crowd can be panic inducing and I am admittedly a terrible haggler, but I love poking around and asking people for the history of certain items. Bought some incredible records for next to nothing from some really knowledgeable vendors. I'm used to sifting through a lot of junk to find one gem but we ran into one stall that was packed to the brim with classic rock and legendary finds in great shape, all priced better than regular retail. I love a place where you can buy baby piglets next to furniture next to hunting knives next to records... and all while Bob Dylan plays blood on the tracks nearby. Go. Have fun. Find something unexpected. What more could you ask for? read more

I was truly disappointed in what I found on my first trip to the Tallahassee flea market. The majority of merchandise was simply Made in Chine junk. There were few antiques, unique items, handmade stuff, treasures of any sort. No vendor was selling liquidator groceries or toiletries. Compared to other flea markets I used to frequent this one was a real yawn. No doubt you can find some bargains here, but I won't be coming back. I was there in summer od 2021. read more
