The truck had come with a limited warranty when we purchased it so we originally had it repaired at the dealership where they used up the warranty on the truck with around $2,000 in repairs covered but surprise of course they are going to choose the cheap route fixing it up and the issue returned with a vengeance a month or two later. I wouldn't be too upset with the dealership if what was going wrong was a common occurrence. However, having your drive shaft literally drop from underneath your truck while driving on the highway is to the best of my knowledge, not a normal thing... I mean this huge piece of metal literally dropped and luckily I pulled over quick enough after I felt it because this 200+ pound part moving at 60mph was dragging and dangling by a few wires holding it to my truck. That is just unacceptable and plain dangerous.. Now at this point I had gone around the Tulsa area having different repair shops fix up small things here and there and not a one seemed very knowledgeable of the vehicle I was driving, nor did they do a good job repairing the truck as well as miss other obvious issues that would become a problem in the near future. So I asked the triple A driver who could honestly get my truck repaired and get it done right. He recommended Gary and Johnston Truck & Auto Repair. It was outside of the range for what my coverage would pay for but he waived any additional mileage to tow my truck to this place and have the repairs done right. I was amazed at how quickly and effectively they repaired my truck. I mean they took care of all of my small issues with the truck I had been encountering that all of the other repair shops had failed to fix. I mean it was such a relief to find a knowledgeable repair shop with such helpful and kind employees. I was specifically helped by Kyle and I could not have asked for a better experience. They managed to do all of these repairs as well as do them right at a fair price. These issues had occurred months ago and I have had no problems since they worked on the truck. Honestly, I have never felt my truck run as smoothly and feel as right as it does now and I owe many thanks to these guys for this. They will be my repair shop for my trucks as long as I own one. I would recommend them to any truck owner and without question and diesel owner.

By exaggerating the findings, charging an exorbitant price and offering very little information to back up the reasoning. We had to press for information. That felt odd. BUT - they charge $139 to look at the vehicle then they do NOT waive that if you have the repairs done. Nothing illegal or unethical - just really BAD business strategy. And the final charge was WAY more than expected!! We found out later we would've saved a few hundred through our usual repair place. And it would've been guaranteed/warrantied. We only used Gary Johnson because of their reviews and the we thought the transmission needed specialized repairs. We should have stayed with who we trusted - we didn't know they did transmissions. So we will go back to Hometown Auto in Owasso. They are the absolute best, most honest around. And, they waive extra costs if repairs are done through them.

He acted as if I was trying to steal an oil change from him. My boss asked that I make sure they put a sticker on the window as he said he didn't receive one on the last trip there. The owner/manager argued with me about the sticker. I did receive a quick oil change but a combative and unfriendly owner/manager will send us elsewhere. I cant imagine acting this way when the oil change business seems to be pretty competitive.

They even paid for a Lyft ride to go pic up a rental car. The next day, I get a call, and there is a long laundry list of things my car (supposedly needs). Some of the things mentioned, I was aware of, but when they started talking about my oil pan gasket needing replaced and the engine coolant being like water, I was like, "No way!". For one, I could go into my driveway and see that there were no leaks where the car has parked for the last 10 years. Also, the weather had just been close to 0 degrees, so if my coolant were like water, my engine block would have froze up. I told them to just do the cleaning of the throttle body (but they were still charging $450 to clean it). When I got the car back, the first thing I did was check the coolant, and it checked at good for -10 degrees, so it was hardly like water! My car uses half a quart of oil between oil changes, and it has 140,000 miles, so clearly, whatever leak they thought they saw, hardly warranted a $1,000 gasket change! They did fix the code, and two months later, all is still good (that's why I'm giving them 2 stars and not 1). However, I could have paid $2,500 for a bunch of stuff that wasn't needed, so beware when they call you with the estimate!

May be long but worth the read I went to this shop back in…read moreMay 2026 , I initially went for my Left CV axle , while getting that replaced Pat also made a comment that my brakes needed some care and I needed a new Master Cylinder. I decided to complete the work for the Master cylinder and CV Axle (Left ) . When I picked up my vehicle from total care it was in WORSE condition than when I dropped it off . I was charge almost 1K for the work and Pat proceeds to tell me I now need a new ABS Module to resolve the problem. Fast forward I take my vehicle to Sapulpa Auto and GREAT WORK , fixed all of my issues and for a more reasonable price . Sapulpa Auto advises me I need a new left wheel bearing . That wheel bearing SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED from Total Car Care , as it is a safety hazard . Not only was I provided a faulty part from Total Car Care, I was charged an INSANE amount for a repair that did not resolve my issue ! I called Pat multiple times to see how can at least get my money back for a faulty part that his shop provided and he is of no help , he didn't even warranty out the service he promised . I would NEVER recommend this business to women specifically or really anyone that does not have knowledge in Auto Mechanics because he will take advantage. I had…read morecalled ahead to explain that the truck isn't driven much and was way behind on maintenance and upkeep. I got a call about an hour after the truck had arrived to tell me everything the truck needed: the must-dos and the should-dos. There was no hard sell on any of the items and I was given a great explanation of why each was needed and whether the work was needed asap or could wait. I agreed to most of the work and got my truck back within 24 hours. I'll be taking my truck back for the remaining maintenance work later this year.
