The group dynamic of the group feels genuine and the staff truly care and follow up. It's the same vibe I felt here before the pandemic, even with different clinicians. There's a sort of intimate and more vulnerable feeling in groups, with the rooms being smaller but not being crowded. Although there is a heavy emphasis on processing and the group's feedback, the psych ed is still really good and PRACTICAL when it comes to coping skills you can actually rely on and practice. They also give out homework to help keep us accountable and committed in practicing the skills we learn in our home life and relationships with others. The staff is amazing, too, the clinicians are genuinely invested in seeing progress. Whether it's external stressors outside of here, situational crises, or our overall growth in recovery and its overall picture, they check up on our individual situations and care enough to tell you what you might not want to hear, but need to hear. The BHH department really looks out for their clients and what they need. My case worker, Christina, has always been there for me for years, even after I had stopped attending Stress Care previously. Whether it's helping me set up and manage appointments, offering transportation, or checking up on me and how I've been, even while I've been hospitalized, she's always gone above and beyond in helping me throughout my recovery. My individual clinician, Maria, has treated me and other clients as though we were family. She's seen and heard me at my worst but still manages to have me leaving hopeful and determined to not give up and to challenge the emotional mind that has always been holding me down. Whether she's scheduled or not, she still checks up on me to see how I'm doing and making sure I'm ok. She is amazing at being both validating to the client but while still encouraging their growth through the active usage of coping skills as well as offering and encouraging practical solutions that can mitigate or confront the problem because she truly cares so much. Even after my previous discharge years ago, she immediately recognized me and looked so overjoyed hearing about the progress I've made but while also deeply concerned about how I've been since then along with the stressors I had been dealing with, even stressors that she had helped me recognize, challenge, and even overcome thanks to her. Overall, I returned to Stress Care even after going to so many other group IOP facilities because of the same family vibe I've had for both in-person visits. Unfortunately there has been some issues with their logistics with things like appointments, transportation, etc, perhaps because of the relatively recent transition back to in-person. Regardless, the consistent warm vibes in groups, are the same now as they were in 2018.

They also contacted a family member without permission ( Specifically one who is the primary stressors of my trauma) stating that if I do not show up to the meetings or take the medication that I would be kicked out of my house. First and foremost that is a HIPPA violation. Second I think that line of thinking would be counterproductive. I have audio proof of the family member stating this has indeed happened and that a conversation has transpired. As someone with PTSD and anxiety I would NOT recommend this place. I would also not recommend this place if your still within an abusive environment. They will make things worse for you.

This guy! first of all my appointment was actually set for 10/31 but since Dr.(?) ,seriously I'm really questioning he has a medical degree no joke. I spoke to 5 different specialists (all same specialty as the most incompetent of incompetent physichiatrists I have ever met. ) My father is a physician and isn't crazy bout too much dosing and he was like this guy was literally bartering medicine with you on the phone. It was almost laughable until you realized how bad it was. They could not BELIEVE the incompetence. And I am very sure whoever reading this is like yea right . I can make up 5 Dr names no problem. But ask yourself this? If you already got all 5 n I just leave on the line for me out to dry like that that's messed up. But for this CLOWN!DM me and I'll bend on it.. No diddy. So we sat and wrote all the ridiculous shit this guy pulled. I've been on 3 meds long as I can remember ambien for insomnia 10mg for long as I can remember along w 30mg ir addedadsl and 15mg xr adderal for ADHD again like forever. This fool left back in October and forgot to tell the patients who had appointments and then all his staff had to scramble like crazy to fill his patients rx's at least until he came back, which was like TWO WEEKS...wtf. These are SERIOUS MEDS AND VERY SICK INDIVIDUALS. I can't.....anyway back to this moron. Conversation starts: So he tells right from the git. Trouble sleeping I'll give you more ambien. I said you can only take 1 at bedtime 10mg ir is the max. He goes oh really? I said yes. Then I said Well the cr is 12.5mg so can't hurt to try just sometimes insurance gives me a hard time filling it, but I'll def try anything at this point. Ok 3 down (so I thought....o so I thought) then I just mentioned bcuz it was mentioned in our last appointment 3 months prior and Dr you specifically said you did not want to give me any Xanax and the adderal xr at the same time and I absolutely respect that even though I'm having a real difficult time sleeping at night mainly due to anxiety. The ambien is still doing its thing but lately especially since getting laid off last month one at bedtime even just a.25mg just maybe take off slight edge but you know...I absolutely respect if you don't feel comfortable with that even though.25mg wouldn't even make my 6 lb cat yawn. So for no reason other than I have no fuckin clue this dude cut me completely off my 15mg adderal and I am going through such bad withdrawal it's crazy. Honest. That is all that happened. Like maybe when he heard me say Xanax he automatically just went into this guy is ONE of those guys. Remember the name ya'll Dr. SAMUEL AMPONSAH! Cuz it ain't going to last. N now that purposely put me rapid withdrawal the ambien is almost worthless. I'm shaking like a scitz right now (hey maybe the .25mg would have helped with that or the kilonopin he SWORE he would prescribe me last week spoke 90 days earlier (in case Xanax hits too quick he likes klonopin more. HA! He said that! He actually said that too. until he hung up the phone right in my face and never answered again. I figured he'd probably just sent the old scripts he always used to but he actually prescribed less ambien and DOUBLED ON SOMETHING like Prozac. Shit was crazy! I'm already an insomniac and now he put me on a medication known to give 41% of NORMAL patients insomnia. Me and my family have reached out to the medical board. So pray for me guys. See if they can get a better Dr who understands not only medicine but human beings. I know it's hard out here fo a pimp. I do. They are really coming down tough on these drs to be such fuckin puppets but this was out of CONTROL. Sorry rapid withdrawal doing it thing again. Gotta go.
