They intentionally misled me for about a year, in order to keep me from finding my own surgeon while still recovering from a major stroke. When I realized this and found my own surgeon, the same people told me they found something in my blood and I needed a test. Put that surgery on hold, the test won't be more than a month. It took a year for me to get that test, and everything was fine, and I was up about a hundred pounds because no one here told you that after a stroke your body will just hold onto the fat. They tried to steal my disability money. I'm aware of at least three other patients they successfully swindle. I will say the therapy department is top notch. And they host a great bingo night once a week ‍. Now that they know I am aware they aren't going to help me, they are using my mental health against me too simply throw me out in 10 times worse shape than I would have been without them. Just cuz someone knows your name doesn't mean they want the best for you. You are $400 a day to these people and that is it, you will get as little as they can give. If your family members aren't coming, you better be really nice cuz they will ignore you in a bed for 2 days.

My 93 year old mom went from being on a ventilator, going to a local nursing home where she was neglected and suffered a septic shock seizure with urinary tract infection due to the nursing home neglect. Her blood pressure was dangerously low and sent to ICU. Monmouth medical did a great job stabilizing her and discharged her to Encompass. My mom could barely stand up when she got there, but she came in with a positive attitude. From day 1 they raised the bar high and told her, she has to work hard every day in therapy. They told her their goal is to get her walking with a walker in 14 days and send her back home. I was skeptical, thinking it was too aggressive. Low and behold, every day she was progressing both physically and mentally. She was treated like GOLD and went from the understaffed and neglect of the local nursing home to a team of professionals that worked her, cared for her and inspired her. By the 14th day she was speed walking and was discharged. My mom is home and is thriving. She is healthier now both mind and spirit and working hard on improving her mobility. With the great help of the VNA she has transitioned well and enjoying life on the Jersey Shore. My mom almost died twice and I am blessed she is alive due to Monmouth Medical and blessed she is home based on the fantastic rehab at Encompass. Every person there, in every position from front desk, to management, to custodian, to nurses, etc is always friendly, freely smiles, and has genuine concern for the people who are there. The location is easily accessible, the parking is abundant, the rooms and common areas are well kept, and there is always a nice place to stop off as one is leaving the area after their visit, - from Trader Joes, to the wonderful Public Library, to the Starbucks Coffee just north on Hwy 35, to Lowes & LIDL. All complete Care places need to go under investigation, I am trying to get all of of these facilities to be investigated along with coral Harbor in Neptune City New Jersey. After a week, she recovered and went to NJ Shore Center. Unfortunately, they are understaffed and don't care when patients could potentially have life threatening issues. My mom was complaining for 21 days her red button help bell was not working. I also complained multiple times. The response we got, my mom is not pushing the button and maybe she needs a psych evaluation. During the 21 days my mom waited up to an hour to get assistance to move her bowels and was in severe pain. She was constantly in wet diapers. I was too trusting and after 21 days, I personally tested the red help bell. Low and behold to their surprise the signal was being routed into another room. They acknowledged, called maintenance and didn't even apologize, heartless. The damage was done and I noticed my mom confused with hands uncontrollably shaking on the 23rd day. I demanded she go to Monmouth medical. They called ambulance and we waited 6 hours. Never again, I should have called 911 myself. As soon as my mom got into the hospital she had a seizure. She had urinary tract infection and went into septic shock. Her blood pressure dangerously low and went into ICU. Once again, she survived and after 7 days went to an acute hospital / rehab - Encompass. My mom went there barely able to stand and within 14 days she was speed walking and healthy. She is now back home and doing well. Miraculous recovery! I can't say enough of the care and the staff at Encompass, they are the BEST. Unfortunately, NJ Shore center was the worst and almost cost my loving and spirited mom her life.
