Recognized me as an IHG member. The room itself was OK, but the toilet did not flush properly, the remote for the TV did not work properly and when I took a shower the next morning it took forever for the hot water to come up and the tub nozzle, where I had to pull up the switch for a shower, almost came off in my hands. Not what I would expect the second day of my stay, my flight was delayed and I went down to the front desk. I know that as IHG member, I can request a late check out if available. Well, the young girl at the desk was nowhere near as friendly as Joseph. She looked at me as if I was requesting too much and said the best I can do is 12:30, which I agreed to because it was better than nothing. I would say this is a day of you must, but not up to par for many of the properties I have stayed at, sadly.

Very friendly and very helpful with a great attitude. The rooms were clean the lobby and eating area was also very organized and clean. Me and my son used the gym and all the equipment was clean and worked. I love that they had Dove products in the bathroom because it didn't feel like all those other hotels where the toiletries feel like they dry everything out. The breakfast spread was great and fresh and my son loved the biscuits and gravy and my daughter loved the fresh cinnamon rolls. If were ever in the area we will definitely be staying here from now on. Also theirs plenty of places to shop and eat in the area if you wanna walk around and explore. That's my review...

This is a fine place to stay in the South Mandarin area of Jacksonville…read more I stayed with my family for one night after attending a family event in the area. I have the Hilton app, so I was able to check in and choose my room in advance, and I could have skipped the physical check in and go directly to my room using my phone as my key. The rooms are not huge, but they are clean and functional. There's no closet and no dresser, just a few places to hang clothing on the wall, so I wouldn't want an extended stay, but it's more than adequate for a night in transit. The beds were fine, and the pillows were okay. Towels in the bathroom were pretty small and thin. This is not a luxury resort. There's an included breakfast that is basic but fine. They have a pancake maker, and my husband was impressed. I stuck to fruit, omelet and sausage patty. The coffee was fine. The juices were not great, but again, this was a free breakfast buffet, so the bar wasn't high. Staff was nice enough, if not particularly great. They do not have EV chargers, but there are a few spots in the parking lot that are designated for EVs, and there are normal plugs nearby, so you can do a slow recharge for a few miles until you find a real supercharger. Sadly, the front desk staff was not able to communicate this to me and just told me that they don't have chargers. Sort of weird.

Tru by Hilton exceeded all my expectations and then some starting right as I walked in. I was taken aback by the grandiose size of the lobby, which, in my opinion, rivaled many other larger and more expensive hotels that I've stayed at. There's a business center with plenty of workstations and plugs for those who work remotely or for those like me who just like to look like I'm doing something important. The lounge area is beautifully embellished with comfy couches, hanging chairs, foosball tables, a roomy dining area, and a TV to keep the kids entertained. There's a complimentary breakfast bar, but I'm not sure what the hours are because I NEVER wake up in time....ever. The fully stocked snack store around the front desk is a blessing to those who stay up way too late binge-watching true crime shows *raises hand.* There's a striking mural of downtown Jacksonville that really gives the lobby an added touch of charm and class. The 24-hour fitness center is an added bonus for all the workout gurus, and the convenient water bottle fill station ensures that everyone stays hydrated. I arrived at my room and was pleased with the layout. First off, everything smelled clean, which is always a good sign. There's a mini frig with a couple of bottles of complimentary water, and while there isn't a closet in the room, there's hangers and an appointed wall space to hang your clothes. The King-sized bed was very comfortable and provided a good nights rest. The spacious bathroom is stocked with all the essentials (yes, the shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion all have a pleasant fragrance), plenty of towels and wash cloths, and good water pressure in the shower. Overall, a fantastic experience, bravo. I was warmly greeted by the lady (WHY can't I ever remember names?) at the front desk and checked in and out without a hitch. If you're in the area or planning to be and need a place to crash, this is THE choice. Big thanks to the staff at Tru by Hilton for an awesome stay, I'll definitely be back! Till next time, my fellow Yeeps, thanks for reading, and as always...SYOY!

So yeah...the carpet is gross. Like, gah gross. The unit in the room is quite loud so I turned it off, but it's also essential because without it, the room is very stuffy. So you're either going to have to gulp and chew your air all night or try to sleep with what sounds like a small truck in your room. The attendees are very friendly, but I wanted one to be a bit more knowledgeable about the surrounding area. I asked the lady at the front desk about Chinese places nearby and she told me about two, but after I'd returned from eating at China Buffet (very mediocre), I saw menus on a table in the lobby for two other places nearby that looked much better than what I'd eaten. Oh well. The breakfast in the morning is nice. Make your own waffle, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, french toast, oatmeal etc. It was nice to have a complimentary breakfast before leaving the next morning. It wasn't a bad stay, but there were a few disappointments. If there's a next time, I'm definitely bringing house shoes to walk around in.

SO friendly, she made great conversation while she checked me in and was still quite efficient! She also offered to provide area recommendations and she promised to call to check on the condition of my room. She ended up seeing me walk through the lobby about 10 minutes later and followed up on if my room was okay. She was the epitome of hospitality. Besides, Jessica the rest of the staff I interacted with, which was limited to a maintenance man outside who went out of his way to hold the door open for me, and a phone operator who set up my wake up call was super nice. The location for me was convenient for the work travel I was doing. It is closed to 295 and located just off of a main road with lots of food, gas stations, grocery and convenience stores nearby. This hotel also offers a free hot breakfast. I thought the menu was decent- make your own waffles, breads and pastries, yogurts, fresh fruit, oatmeal as well as scrambled eggs and sausage. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and water are available around the clock. There were also cookies at the front desk when I checked in which was nice! The lobby is well maintained and features a business computer and printer if you need it! The hotel features a fitness center which is open 24 hours. It only had a few machines, but good variety. There is also an outdoor pool available, although I did not use it. The only "meh" part of the stay is the room. I felt my room was clean, but it is clear that this is an older property. The rooms and hallways could use some refreshing as decor does appear older and warn. Compared to similar comparably priced properties I feel the rooms are not on par with the competition.

The Fairfield Inn at Orange Park is a nice enough hotel for a one night stay. The room had the…read moreright amount of furnishings that one would need for one night of comfort: two double beds, flatscreen, television, and bathroom facilities. Firstly, let me say that I prepaid for the hotel stay days before arrival. $110 before taxes $123 and change after taxes. The hotel puts a $20 hold on your credit card for incidentals. They tell you that the credit will come off your credit card shortly after your stay. It's been four days since I departed the hotel and the $20 is still on my credit card card. Additionally there is another pending charge for $6.25. I have no idea what this charge represents because it is not on the receipt. The hotel parking was free. I didn't stay for the breakfast. Never turned the television on, didn't use the coffee maker, didn't even open the refrigerator so I don't know what the $6.25 represents. I called the hotel and the front desk person who answered advised I will have to contact my credit card company. They saw that my room/account had been satisfied and they don't even know what the $6.25 represents either so now I have to spend additional time on the phone disputing the credit card charge. As far as the room is concerned, the toilet handle is not operational so I had to lift the handle up to stop the running water in the toilet bowl. It took over an hour and a half for the tub to drain after a five minute shower and then the tub is slick because the soapy residue didn't get washed down due to the clogged tub. When I approach the front desk staff to advise them of the plumbing issues that should be addressed with a bottle of liquid plumber, and a new toilet handle, I was advised that the hotel will be under renovation. No apology, no indication that the next guest won't be dealing with that same issue. Plumbing issues should be addressed promptly and should not require the wait that a renovation is going to entail. Several bathroom floor tiles are cracked in half. There was also torn carpeting by one of the walls, and my charging block would not stay attached to the outlets in the lamp between the two beds, which required me to charge my phone on the bathroom sink. One of the panels in the elevator is falling off. And there are serious stains on the hallway carpeting. I would've been willing to stay at this hotel for another one night stay. But now with this credit card dispute, it leaves me with a very bad taste in my mouth, and I will have to look elsewhere when I return to the area.

The front desk personnel were nice, but their mode of clothing was so unprofessional. We had 2 handicapped people with us, we went out for dinner, upon returning......the elevator had an "out of order" sign on it. We all waited a while wondering how we would get to the third floor to get our luggage to move to another hotel. Then, all of a sudden, the woman front desk attendant took the sign off the elevator and the sign appeared on the stairway. The entire situation was bizarre. The lobby and the breakfast was very nice. Our room bathroom made you want to disinfect yourself. It could have been so different it decent workmanship had finished off the bathroom. Ugh! DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS SECOND CLASS HERE…read more Tiffany, Desiree, and Madison are lovely, The Manager, however, Kyrie King, called me at 11:20AM to let me know as a fully disabled veteran going through a divorce to escape domestic violence that the government agency who was paying for my stay had not renewed my reservation and that I needed to be out by 12:30PM. I told her that I was in Middleburg and could be there by 12:30 but not be out by 12:30. As I was packing my things and getting them out following a 60 day stay, CCSO (Clay county sheriffs office) knocked on my door and 3 officers asked me what was going on and why I'm not out yet. Checkout time is 11 but as a reward member I was eligible for extended checkout til 2PM. It was not yet 2PM. I explained to the officers and they told the front desk that they have to allow me time to remove my items. This is how Holiday Inn treats fully disabled homeless American Veterans. They give them hardly any notice, and are quick to get the cops involved, an abuse of authority and intimidation tactic. During my 60 day stay the Manager made me move rooms several times, and did not treat me the same way she treated the other guests. She actually called the government funded agency that was funding my stay to have THEM address an issue where she disliked something I had done, instead of addressing the issue with me directly. I didn't feel respected as a human being or person by Kyrie King. I would ask other veterans to choose another location to stay. The way I was treated here was unprofessional.

The TV and Fridge were not working, and the door handle on the interior side of the bathroom door was missing. We did not realize this, and our son was locked in the bathroom. Thankfully we were in the room to let him out! We called the front desk and they immediately sent maintenance and he confirmed that not only was the handle missing, but the door was off track and essentially could lock you in. We were moved to another room. Overall the room was "clean", but there was a musty old locker room smell in both rooms we were in. There was some mold above the shower in the bathroom. Housekeeping came every day and did a nice job. We used to stay at Hilton Garden Inn's, but since they no longer provide a decent breakfast, I chose Hampton as I knew a breakfast would be included. It is a basic breakfast and the make your own waffles are a nice touch. That said, there is really very little fresh fruit (some old apples in saran wrap), and no adult cereals, no oatmeal, etc... It all feels a little sad. Another reason we chose this property was the location, it suited us for the business we had in Jacksonville, but you should be aware that the property is in an inconvenient spot with no direct access from 295 north or south unless you make a u-turn on a very very busy road. We often had to wait multiple light cycles to make a u-turn, so plan to add 4-12 minutes to your travel time when trying to get to the hotel. My stays at Hilton properties over the past couple of years have me questioning my loyalty to Hilton. As a Diamond member we stay quite a bit, but I think I could be paying less at say a Holiday Inn, for about the same quality, who knows, maybe better. Unfortunately, the negatives far outweigh the positives and we would not likely stay here again.

The room has the same old, spotted carpet squares as the elevator but the room was smelly. It smelled like old fabrics or carpet. Yuck! The ice bucket still had water spots on the top and in the bucket and a strand of hair. Not sure what to make if that. The desk was dirty. Pulled comforter back on one of the beds and theirs a huge brown stain. Seriously!?! The counter tops of all of the furniture was dirty. I sanitized the toilet seat and when I wiped it down, it was filthy! The room chair is disgusting. The television didn't work the first night and the front desk representative who took our call and complaint left us hanging. They fixed it after I called a second time the next day. The bathroom walls were even filthy. Noted: we were in a pet friendly room and the person who booked it doesn't recall agreeing to or requesting it. I didn't mention this to management because the nature of our stay was a sad occasion and we were doing a quick turnaround with too busy of an agenda to have to spend time trying to get a clean room from a Hilton branded property.
