They are made by a family just on the outskirts of New Orleans. The chocolate covered strawberry was heavenly... also home made. A quaint shop off the beaten path on St. Charles Avenue. I would recommend to every tourist, to make a stop - I am sure you will find something to remind you of your visit to NOLA.

This year, I bought an iron on patch and some large gumbo spoons that are very hard to find. I also bought a few stickers. Employee-a make who was winding so nice! The fleur-de-lis, also spelled fleur-de-lys, is a common heraldic charge in the shape of a lily. Most notably, the fleur-de-lis is depicted on the traditional coat of arms of France that was used from the High Middle Ages until the French Revolution in 1792, and then again in brief periods in the 19th century.

Was disappointed today, my go to shop for gifts. The item I went to purchase happened to be on…read moresale, last month I purchased but full price. Of course, I was delighted. Unfortunately, when I asked about gift wrapping I was told sale items are not eligible. I offered to pay extra, I was on the way to a party. I was refused, put in a plain bag, no tissue. When I mentioned in the future about charging I was told, my boss has owned this shop 20 years so I'm not telling her how to run it. Really? As a customer for years and only suggestions, not appropriate response. So, instead of at least putting in a bag with their logo for advertising I had to buy a gift bag and they didn't get any recognition. Common sense should prevail.

They have plenty of moderately price jewelry and housewares and doodads that make great gifts...if you have the girly sorts to purchase for. Another I like about this shop, it's not packed to the roof with stock. You can actually peruse without being overwhelmed and move without fearing that you're going to take out a shelving unit of glassware. WHEW. The staff has always been helpful without being push and there is often free wine while you shop (BONUS). Sometimes I hit the jackpot and sometimes not. The upstairs (ok 3 steps) back room is a separate business so be prepared to use your card twice if you want merchandise from both spaces.
