Visited on 03/07/20 Walking throughout the small stores of NOLA we found this little treasure. They had such adorable shirts, socks and other trinkets which you wouldn't find in other places. For the first time ever, Fleurty Girl let me down. Something about this store changed and while some people may find it better, this guy did not. So first, lets try and figure out the answer to the question you're bound to ask. Why is a dude named John in a store with the word girl? Look, it's 2019 you judgmental randos. But really, FG used to be a great place to get small gifts. It was always my go-to at Christmas to get stocking stuffers and small LA themed items. So this past Christmas I was on my way down Causeway Blvd when I decided this would be the place to stop to get something for my kids. Going shopping in Metaire during the Christmas season was probably my first mistake. Parking was limited and the store was packed with people. Everyone who knows me knows I am very patient and love crowds so that didn't bother me in the least (sarcasm font in case you didn't get it). Despite the crowds I knew I needed some stuff for juveniles so I perused the store. I couldn't find anything. It wasn't because there was a lack of stuff, the store was filled with stuff. It just seems that there has been a shift towards more expensive items. Again, maybe it was just the time of year, but I had hoped to find some cheap necklaces or costume jewelry pieces and couldn't find anything that fit what I wanted. One bad experience doesn't really sour me on the chain as a whole. My other experiences here have been great.Will I be back? I am sure I will since it is right on my route to and from work. I love Fleurty Girl! My regular store is in Uptown and this was my first time in the Metairie store. I came in to exchange a doggie number 9 Saints jersey for a larger size. I called ahead to ask them to reserve a larger size for me and they did so! Fleurty Emily and Fleurty Allison even helped me figure out the correct size for my friend's mini schnauzer. I wanted to buy a Who Dat collar and Fleurty Emily got on the computer to check how large schnauzers are and Fleurty Allyson and Emily looked at my pictures to help me estimate his size. Talk about customer service! Then I fell in love with the moustache blingy rings and moustache earrings ehich i ended up buying! Now I'm ready for the 610 Stompers ball in January! Once I mentioned the stompers they showed me the calendar and I showed them all my friends in the calendar, it was so much fun! They were super friendly and got excited when I said I would yelp about them! I've met Lauren (the owner) a few times in the Magazine store and last year in the Poboy Fest I front of their original store on Oak street. She is super nice and down to earth. I appreciate the fact that she supports our local community like the Hubig's pie company after the fire and they are selling shirts to help raise funds for them, the No White Flag shirts to support Steve Gleason, the No Crime shirt, the Beat Dat breast cancer awareness shirt with Touro. Plus they support local artists! Fleurty Girl is my go to for presents I believe Saints candle high school stone coasters, ain't dere no more magnets, my parents found me in a King cake onesie, Saints onesies, black and good bib and burp cloth, Who Dat kids book, etc. I shop there so often I have a frequent buyer tshirt card! I love Fleurty Girl! It is the best ever for all things New Orleans. Umbrella with the map of the streets, T-shirts with local phrases, kids clothing, candles, jewelry and so much more. There is plenty to choose from, whether you are looking for something for yourself or a gift for almost anyone. All of the gals who work here are so friendly and helpful. Lauren, who created this company, came to UNO while I was going to school there and gave a talk about creating your own business and the trials and tribulations she has overcome. This is owned locally and is awesome. On the north side of Lakeside Mall is a small strip mall, and this is smack in the middle of the strip mall. There is plenty of parking. I was on my way to Lakeside mall in Metairie, La. when I missed my turn. As I was sitting at the red light on the backside of the mall I notice this eye popping green Fleurty Girl sign. Curiosity led me to this store and I did not have any expectations. I found a parking spot in front of the door. I was greeted when I walked in and asked by the sales associate if I was looking for anything in particular. I told her that it was my first time in this store and wanted to look around. I like that she did not bother me and allowed me to browse. This store has unique Everything New Orleans clothing, footwear, household, and jewelry items from the past to the present. The store became quit busy as I tried to maneuver around without bumping someone or something. I purchased a Fleur di lis pendant for my daughter and earrings for my New Orleanian co-worker and they love them so much that they wear them almost everyday. LOVE the merchandise, not the service on Severn and Metairie Rd. I have made purchases on Magazine St. several times; we are always treated well. The employees ask if we have a t-shirt card stamp card. They always package our 2 or more shirts in the signature canvas bag...they are great! Enter Metairie...meh. We are not greeted (4 different occasions in each store. You have to ask for your stamp; you have to BEG for a canvas bag with your $50 plus t shirt purchase; and you have to be followed around with out assistance. The novelty of Fleurty Girl is BRILLIANT! However, the "charm" is limited with the merchandise. I think I will stick with Dirty Coast. :-( read more

So Fleurty Girl move to the space next door to the old shop...the only reason you can tell is that both still have signs. The new shop is gorgeous with lots of artistic touches and architectural details. Love the great selection of gift items, way beyond t-shirts AND I love how spacious this store is compared to the Magazine shop. Not sure what other reviewers are complaining about staff-wise. All three sales clerks in the store on this busy pre-Christmas Sunday were pleasant and polite without being pushy. (Yes, I'm feeling alliterative). Magazine is still my go to because of proximity but I definitely will be back to this location too. And as always, I have to comment how much I hate this strip mall's parking lot. read more

Not your average t-shirt shop! Newly renovated and peppered with fun finds, Fluerty Girl is my favorite Metairie stop and shop place. Always fun to stop in a see what's new in store and equally hard not to want one of everything. It's my go to gift resource, but I always end up with another whitty T, jewelry and/or classy fishermen style rain boots to add to my own collection. I love that the fitting rooms are big and comfortable and the staff is always so accommodating, cheery and helpful. Most of all, I appreciate that they have multiple style and sizing options in all the T-shirts. Nothing worse than having to get a man style because a XXL is still too small. I used to think that this shop only carried t-shirts. WOW!! was I wrong! This cute little shop carries a variety of gifts and accessories all geared towards the lover of all things NOLA. Sure they have t-shirts, and a nice selection of them, but they also have jewelry, accessories, soap, candles, shoes, rain boots, towels, coasters, all sorts of things with a NOLA-theme. My first time visiting the newly renovated space...and I LOVE it. The space is much more spacious, light and airy. You don't feel like you're shopping on top of each other. This will be my go-to location to shop for FG goodies when I'm in town. They have a bigger variety of shirts and sizes as well as all the other NOLA themed goodies they sell from local based artists and businesses. On my recent visit, I picked up a cute tee, a nola necklace and a souvenir gift. It's soo easy to spend when you're here. If you buy their tees, make sure to get their frequent buyer card. Love the graphics, style and fit of their shirts. However, the choice of fabrics, and quality of construction (stitching) leaves a lot to be desired. I have concert T shirts from the 90's that I've worn and washed hundreds of times that have held up better than these shirts have after just a couple of washings. My Morgus shirt immediately turned all "pithy," and the stitching on the half-sleeve Dixie and Jax Beer shirts I received as a present started unraveling after just one wash. Expensive shirts made on the cheap is a rip. Period. read more

I've always been a fan of Fleurty Girl. While shopping at the store a couple of weeks ago I bought a 'grab bag' t-shirt for $10. It was a splurge purchase and the grab bags are marked 'no return'. I grabbed it up thinking it would be a great purchase and fun to see what was inside. I like my shirts to run large so I purchased an XXL. Imagine my surprise when I opened it and found a t shirt advertising a mango drink for JazzFest. It looks like something someone working with the booth would wear. The XXL is the same size as a ladies medium and very, very small. This store has always had great stuff. This was a nasty trick and I should have realized it was a poor purchase when they stated it couldn't be returned. I can't believe I wasted $10 bucks on something so worthless. Honestly, this looks like something that needed to be donated to a thrift shop. This purchase completely changed the way I feel about this store. What were they thinking? 'Here, let's package something not sized accordingly with an ugly color and logo and make $10 bucks off it!' I won't be back to their store and I won't recommend it to out of town friends. Selling something like this just to make the sale feels snarky, cheap and dishonest. read more

Overall, I'd give this store 10 stars if possible! I mean that sincerely! I have shopped at Fleurty Girl since it was just an instagram boutique and after y'all's first store opened I took my husband to it and now he always gets me little gifts from there, especially when he's in Old Metairie. Anyway, I purchased a doormat for him for Christmas--super cute, it says "THE GOOD KIND OF WEIRD LIVES HERE!" Our home was destroyed during Hurricane Ida and this was one of those things that was gonna go in our "new house" after renovations were completed. So it sat in the gift bag i gave it to him in, in the closet upstairs until two weeks ago today. Our home has finally been finished and refurnished as of two weeks ago (and my husband had a double knee replacement on January 13, 2022 so add that to the chaos and say a prayer for me lol). So once everything was done and no more workers were coming and I had our home soooo nice and clean, I decided to put his Christmas doormat out! It is so freaking cute!! Except that it's been two weeks today and it went from beautiful and new (and the coolest doormat on the block to this (see attachment) in literally two weeks to the day. My husband and I are the only people who live here so the foot traffic has only been our own. I don't understand why it faded and came apart so quickly. Anyway, besides that, I love the heck out of this store and will continue to shop here. Just wish this rug had been better quality and lasted longer than two weeks. I stopped in here because I found myself in the 'hood and I needed to stock up on some Mardi Gras supplies. This place was STOCKED for Mardi Gras and I was so excited to get some holiday stuff here. I got a few tshirts and a king cake scented candle (yum!). This is a cool shop and while I don't think it has as much as other Fleurty Girl shops, they have a nice selection here. The girls working here did a good job at managing the customers and helping with whatever was needed. This is niche marketing at its finest for anyone who represents the 504! Fleurty Girl is a great place to pick up gifts, but it's a little pricey. The selection is great and there are some unique items to consider. The merchandise offered is similar to a specialty cart you would find in the mall. It's a small store, so small, the clerk never feels the need to leave the counter - even if you knock something over. Also, she couldn't calculate 20% off $20 without ringing the item up; this wasn't for me, but for another customer in the store while I was approaching the register. I'm no mathlete, but this isn't exactly calculus. It wouldn't hurt to ask if I needed anything, but that's just me. All in all, it's a good store, but the prices clearly pay for the rent. read more

The owner made my experience over the top. I went into the store a week before Mardi Gras for shirts for my twin girls. There was only one size left in a particular style I wanted. I was able to pay for the shirt and wait about 20 minutes for the owner to go to her warehouse and get the size I needed. She was very pleasant and went above and beyond. We went into the Metairie store today to shop for Mardi Gras apparel. One of the items was the sparkle Mardi Gras tennis shoes with the gold star on the side. In store, the price was $54.95, but I saw they were $5 cheaper on the Fluerty Girl website. We showed one of the ladies, who kindly checked on it for us. The manager came out and said it was a different shoe, in which we showed her that it clearly was not. She refused to honor the price online if we purchased it in store, so we said its not a big deal we can just purchase it online. Her response, "Whatever." We purchased online immediately and 10 minutes later the price was adjusted on their website to $54.95. How embarrassing for the store and company. She easily could have said, "I'm so sorry, we did not put the correct price on the shoes in-store, but will honor the online price." Or just anything that would have been good customer service. We're easy. We understand. We shop at Fleurty Girl often and this isn't the first time this location has been rude in response. We're going to stick to the one on Metairie Road, where the women are always sweet. read more

This use to be one of my favorite shops.. Every year when we visit Nola, my family always stops here to purchase great unique gifts.. This week we stopped before flying out to finish up our shopping , only to find that they had changed their style of merchandise .. while they did have a great selection of shirts, home items etc., they had several items on display with VERY vulgar sayings , four letter words that were in view for children as well as anyone to see..while I understand that some people find humor in vulgarity, my family did not.. this has always been a classy shop so I am not sure why they chose this route.. my only suggestion is to put that type of merchandise in one area where it is not visible for young children to read/see..We love this cute shop and know they can continue to be successful without lowering their standard ... sometimes it is not about the profit... read more
