This last season they missed winterizing our sprinklers (we were on the schedule in October and were simply missed.) Our pipes burst and the water flooded our basement, ruining Christmas presents. They told us what to do, but when we contacted in the spring, the original proposition was we pay for the part ($179) and they cover labor ($50). The part was by far more expensive than the labor. My husband got confused as to what three parts were versus one part and when they found out our confusion, they told us the assembly part was $472. I offered to do 50/50, with them paying for labor, but splitting the cost of the part. Upon further research, I learned it was ALL considered one part and that's what the $179 he was referring to was. The situation was blamed on us for not communicating that they missed it. However, the way things have been handled in the past was a bill would be sent in the mail after the service was done. This easily can be missed. For such a small loss to take as a business, it sure was stressful to have to deal with the flood, loss of presents, rewrapping presents, and then the unprofessional attitude and communication from one of the gentlemen.

We had a few quotes from other companies, which were all AI generated with no description of what we would actually be receiving. There was no soul behind the quotes or discussions on what we wanted to do. No one seemed to care about putting a personal touch to doing business with us. Then we spoke to Jamie Remelts from Knapp Valley. She showed attention to what we were looking for, explained her vision, and shed light on some information on some existing plants we had in our front yard. She seemed genuinely excited to transform our weed ridden front yard for us. The quote was detailed, explained the gameplan, and was a fair price for what we wanted. They also had a stellar warranty offer on any landscaping done, and even though some of the plants we received are struggling, Jamie has assured us if it comes to it, it will be covered and we can receive replacements if it arises. Anytime we've reached out to Jamie, she has been extremely responsive and timely, and has comforted us on any situations that came up. They accidentally knicked our internet line during the landscaping, causing our internet to go out, and offered to provide a replacement wire until we could get the new internet cable installed. They also came to pick it up, and made things right, and were apologetic about the predicament. I believe what matters most, is not how perfect an experience goes, but how mistakes or issues are resolved. And they really made things right on any issues that popped up. We were told payment would be once the job is complete, but didn't receive the invoice for a few weeks. Payment was easy, we just drove to the main store and talked to the front lobby people. If you are new into gardening/landscaping, I highly recommend Knapp Valley Gardens and to ask for Jamie. It is very exciting to see our plants budding, and I am excited to buy more plants from Knapp Valley Gardens to expand, and get our backyard landscaped in the future. They hired a new Director of Sales, Scott Golin, and they have hired a whole new team of professionals who care about their customer's satisfaction. Scott reached out and offered to make things right with a free service of my choosing. I suggested installing 2 native pollinator plantings. He suggested a Button Bush and Diabolo Ninebark. His team installed them last week! I'm very optimistic that Hollandia Outdoors has redeemed themselves and will be the kind of company that I hired them for in 2021.
