I went in there over excited, ill prepared, and had only the vaguest idea of what I wanted. When the consultant asked me the most simple of questions "When do you want to fly?", I had to ask for a calendar, consult my phone, and spend ten minutes faffing about while she patiently waited. She was cool, calm collected in response to me being hyperactive. I walked away that day with a departure and return date chosen, and had a good idea about how much it would cost me. For days afterward, I would open my emails to find messages from her alerting me to cheaper flights she'd found and alternative options that I should look at. When I had to change my flights due to a problem with the airline, she bombarded me with texts, emails, and voicemails until I responded. I appreciated how she acted with urgency. I felt totally secure about every part of my travelling plans that she had played a hand in. I was able to reach her while overseas when I needed to confirm some details, and she always replied promptly to my emails. I would recommend Student Flights to anyone going anywhere. It is extremely convenient when you need to organise last minute flights. For example, if you missed a flight or realised you forgot to book a flight, whatever it is, Flight Centre in the International Airport offers the convenience of helping you out if you are already in the Airport. I've been here once because a flight I was scheduled to be on had to be changed and I desperately needed another flight. I was informed I will get my refund for my other flight but I will need to re-book my next flight. So it was done here. I was so happy with the service of this Flight Centre. Saved my whole entire trip.

Last year I flew to a rather obscure location in the Caribbean where I would spend the next 7…read moremonths. When I walked into Sta Travel UQ, sat down in front of Rebecca, the store manager, and said, I need a ticket to Martinique, she said, "Where?" After finding it on the map, she quickly planned a route, found me a super cheap ticket with Qantas and with a little deliberation over dates, I was set. Given that I was flying through America and a long stop over in LA, she was really thorough in telling me I'd need to get a US visa waiver online (as I'd be leaving the LA airport to explore) and suggesting hotels in LA. But my contact with Rebecca didn't end when I left Australia. Midway through my stint in Martinique, I decided to change the date of my return ticket. Via email, Rebecca was extremely helpful in doing this for me and was really good about answering all my annoying questions. I can't vouch for any of the other staff at Sta UQ, but Rebecca's service was excellent. Be warned that during university terms the store gets extremely busy and you may have to wait a while to be served.

Do not let your visit to Brisbane go by without going on this cruise…read more I had so much fun! Hung out with this couple from Perth. They go up the river, you go under a dozen bridges. They take you past the most expensive homes in Brisbane. They tell you all you need to know about the city. You see places you want to visit later. You get on and off in a cool area of town--you can walk around the parks or walk across the bridge to the Casino building. It was the best!

Our tour was very busy as it was the Easter weekend so we got there early (~35 mins beforehand) to get a great spot up on the top. You can buy tickets online beforehand or at the jetty. They have eftpos. Price was fine. Food on board too but we didn't try it so can't vouch for it. Best of all, this tour was devoid of any aggressive or tacky stuff. The commentary by the boat captain was not intrusive and was calm and well-informed, historically accurate with some gentle humour but not awkward loud dad jokes. They also provide a helpful map with some of the sights of interests marked.

Initially we went to Flight Centre just to get some magazines to figure out where we wanted to see and we were going to book everything ourselves online, but we were informed by one of the lovely travel agents that my work receives a 10% discount for all accommodation through them and we decided it was worth changing our plans. We also discovered how much less stressful it was for someone else to go hunting for the good deals and areas of unknown cities. Our travel agent Shelley has since spent weeks off and on, answering stupid questions and getting better rates on hotels than I could find online, and has been a great constant in our lives. We have finally finished booking our trip and I honestly don't know how we would have done it without Shelley. Ok so I may have some dependency issues to work on, but all I can say is we felt well looked after and our trip is exactly what we wanted.
