I'm not sure who the current version of the Fresh Prince is, but whoever they are, this is probably…read morethe place where they would shop if they lived in Yakima! This is definitely the spot to go when you're interested in new clothing trends, classic and new shoes as well as plenty of vintage items like jackets and jerseys. I came in on a random Monday afternoon and found a number of things that immediately peaked my interest, despite not being a particularly well dressed individual. With my 30th percentile looks and 15th percentile charm, any help I can get is always appreciated! With styles ranging from those of a skate shop, which this also is, all the way to trends that make any trendsetter jealous, they've got just about anything that you're looking for within the genre. I picked up a pair of shorts which quickly work their way into my rotation. I also saw some old-school Reebok pumps, which may be something that I need to get in the near future. The dude running the place is super chill and does a great Job of staying up on trends both new and retro. In the same way that the haberdasher brings a very cool spot for final clothing, this place brings a real for anyone looking for some good street gear!

I made a purchase here at The Wood Shop on 3/4/2026 and was surprised to see a 3% credit card fee…read moreadded, with sales tax applied on top of that fee, which didn't make sense since the surcharge isn't a product or service. I returned on 3/5/2026, less than 24 hours later, simply to switch the payment to a debit card. The biggest issue wasn't that they couldn't do it -- it was how dismissive and unprofessional the staff were. Three employees were standing together chatting and drinking coffee, and their attitude was essentially, "It's written on the machine, so too bad." There was no courtesy, no effort to help, just a very condescending tone. They also claimed that every store in Leavenworth charges a credit card fee, which was untrue. After visiting many restaurants, galleries, shops, and ice cream stores during my three day trip, this was the only place that did. This ended up being my worst customer service experience in Leavenworth, mainly because of how dismissive the staff were. I would not return.

Cubbies full of different hats made for fun shopping with my parents in July 2017 when we were in downtown for some exploring during one of our family reunions in the area. After taking a hard look at the offerings and dwelling on a Seahawks hat, I decided to go with the Indiana Jones hat. The hat fit my head, nice because my head runs a bit on the large side, and had a large brim, which I find to be helpful for sun protection during geology fieldwork. The price was fair, and the workers helpful. At the time I was concerned the hat may be a bit on the thin side for my purposes. Nope. Almost five years later, the hat is still in great condition. I store it with my handmade Polish sheep/goat-herding hat. They have surprisingly similar structure and dimensions.

If I could give this store a below-zero rating, I would…read more I came in with my three children (ages 2, 5, and 9) to pick out some toys and a pair of earrings for myself. From the moment we walked in, I felt like we were being watched the entire time. As a single mom shopping alone with young children, it was incredibly uncomfortable. For context, my children were behaving appropriately. They were not running around the store or touching merchandise. My 5-year-old simply had a pen in his hand while we were shopping. The final straw was when I asked a sales associate if there was an issue with us. She got down to my 5-year-old's level and pretended to punch him. Why would you pretend a punch my five-year-olds to wind him up when you're obviously watching me because you're judging. She appeared to be in a management position, which made the interaction even more upsetting. We still made it to the checkout line, and she continued watching us. At no point did she apologize or acknowledge how uncomfortable the situation had become. I left the earrings and didn't want to purchase. It's frustrating that a children's store could make a parent feel so unwelcome it was actually my two year old that depends. Shopping with kids isn't always easy, but families deserve kindness and understanding--not judgment. I left feeling embarrassed, disappointed, and certain that I will not be returning.

There was no dedicated cashier inside the toy section, and no clear way to check out. Parking nearby is also a challenge. As a bonus stop while in line, it worked, but on its own, it wouldn't have been worth the detour. JY review
