Lived in the same apartment for more than a decade and finally replaced the carpets. This is a family-ran establishment. The owner herself, Ashley made my experience. She came by to do an in-depth walk through, took appropriate measurements, and showed me all their options in different price points. Her and her husband are locals and started this company together. I love supporting local businesses. Speaking of locals, I also needed grout work which is outside the scope of their work, but Ashley was able to refer me to my new grout guy (shout out Mystic Dave!). Estimate is done through a software they're developing with another tech company, which is pretty new but unique? Payment was straight forward through a link (cheaper if you pay in cash / ACH). You pay 30% deposit and the rest afterwards. They are a bit pricer but reasonable for the quality of work done. They send out a team of 2 for my project. There were a couple disconnects in terms of the details communicated to the field team, like the amount of padding needed and the edges of my stairs that needed to be folded and stapled but it wasn't anything this team couldn't figure out. I am an opinionated client that expects quality, precision, and communication. All of which are points that Floor Coverings delivered. Overall happy with new floors. Had to get whole house redone as same flooring throughout. Team was accomodating with scheduling the project to ensure I had time to pack up. As new install occured install team were hard workers and amazed at how much got done within window of projected work. Even at walk through there were some minor nits i saw and they were quick to address. I appreciated the response of "they are your floors, we will do x to make sure you are happy with them". We had previously installed Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring with another contractor and within 3 days of installation, we had problems with it cracking and failing to the point that we could not safely walk barefoot in the bedroom. We called him multiple times to come out and repair which he promised to do but he basically ghosted us. We then called FCI and Ben came out, found the problem immediately and discussed our options. Their team, led by Kyle (the project manager) worked around our schedule, helped us move the heavier/bulkier pieces of furniture, removed the faulty flooring, installed the new, replaced the baseboards & cleaned up all in a half a day. We originally had another flooring contractor/company ready to start the install of our floors in our home after we had a slab leak - but our kitchen contractor recommended we meet with Floor Coverings International. After meeting Ashley - there was no doubt that we would not move forward with Floor Coverings International. Ashley is professional, knowledgeable- and has integrity. She worked with us- and made a stressful situation- not stressful at all. She went above and beyond sourcing the exact style and brand of flooring we wanted. We also feel that getting multiple quotes on luxury vinyl floor installation- Ashley's quote was competitive but fair. The team- Kyle and Uriel also made sure that every part of the install went smoothly were great communicators from start to finish and were punctual and clean. They worked lock step with me and our other contractors that were working unilaterally at the same time in the same space. They communicated with our cabinet contractor on scheduling and what would be the best for our home situation and timeframe. They provided a final project walkthru to ensure their clients are happy with their work. In our opinion, Ashley and Floor Coverings International are a cut above all the other sea of flooring installer companies out there- why? because they provided a personal, hands on , sensitive touch to our home project. Ashley did not just pass off our project once we signed on- never to be heard of again- she stayed involved and looped in. Kyle made sure that we were happy with their work every day of the installation- and Uriel, our installer takes pride in his work and an attention to detail. One last thing, on our final visit with Ashley- the final walk-thru of the completed work- Ashley brought flowers and a handwritten note of thanks for trusting them with our home remodel. I was initially in communication with Ashley, the owner of Floor Coverings Intl of Long Beach who was very helpful in getting the estimate scheduled for my flooring project (carpet replacement). I then worked with Ben who inspected the room in which the project would take place, and made the estimate. He was most helpful and knowledgeable on carpet types and even contacted my HOA to confirm sound requirements for my condo building. Once I made the carpet selection, project manager Kyle was responsive to my questions and concerns in getting the project promptly scheduled. On the day of the project Kyle noticed the molding on the old carpet wasn't attaching correctly in the adjoining doorways and was able to replace the molding with new metal transitions. The install of the new carpet looks great and I'd highly recommend this company to anyone needing to accomplish a flooring project in the company's service area!! read more
