So....I only know Flora Fotography through a contest they recently ran on Facebook, offering a prize of free wedding photos to the couple that could get the biggest number of people to "friend" Flora and then comment on one of their photos. Now, setting aside the fact that this is an incredibly ham-handed way of running a contest and displays Flora's breathtaking lack of savvy with social media and the best way to use it for promoting its business? All evidence points to the fact that Flora ran this ham-handed contest in an unethical way by cherry-picking which friend requests were approved, thus stacking the votes for their chosen couple. Repeated messages to Flora on the last day of the contest about this matter were ignored, and the contest photos (with their attendant votes) disappeared at the end of the contest. I don't think anyone was surprised when the winners were announced early the next day. I can't be entirely certain that Flora Fotography actually ran a dirty contest, but the evidence does point that way. I'm not averse to a business promoting itself, and this sort of contest is actually a pretty good fit for social media outlets like Facebook....but this was not the way to do it. It leaves entirely too much room for manipulation and questions about fairness and ethics. For my money, if this is how Flora Fotography chooses to approach something as simple and inconsequential as a contest...I wouldn't trust them with something as complex and important as photographing my wedding. read more

This business "indeed" wasted my time and the time of many others. I waited a WHOLE day to have my friend request accepted, just so I could vote for my chosen couple. Honestly, I can not live on Facebook because I have two young girls ages 5 and 2 that need to be cared for. So it was very upsetting to me to finally have my friend request accepted at 10:45pm, on the night that the contest was to end. This seemed WAY too suspicious to me!! And like the others said...all the complaints from everyone were wiped away and everyone included myself...was deleted off their FB page. And all I did was click... like...on some strangers post. (I didn't even know the person who wrote the message to them) And this person only said how they had been waiting to be friended by them that whole day too. I never said ONE bad thing to these people!! BUT I DO...have a lot of family that lives in the Battle Creek, MI area. My maiden name is CARNES. So please, please, do not use these people for any of your special occasions. I believe that you will be very sorry...if you do. Most people know that my family owned many business's throughout the whole state of MICHIGAN. And we would of never dreamed of treating anyone in such a matter as this. Especially potential customers... And now, the people that I feel the most sorry for is...the couple who's hopes and dreams went out the window...thanks to a bogus contest. read more

Pretty terrible review by Tari F. I mean come on. You are going to give this person a 1 star review because you "believe" she may have fixed a contest. Pretty strong accusation without knowing for sure if that's the case. Now whenever anyone looks up this persons business it will have a 1 star review and some people won't even give her a chance due to your ridiculous review. We went with Flora Fotography for our engagement photos. Completely professional and a real pleasure to work with. So if anyone is interested in a great photographer for their wedding I would recommend her. Don't go off of some bitter ladie's review of how she ran a stupid facebook contest! She's obviously bitter for some reason. But then again she is a "Rock Goddess and All Around Guru" according to her profile! Grow up! read more

I only know Flora Fotography from a contest that they held on Facebook. The above comments pretty much tell the story of how dishonest and unfair Flora Fotography is, but I would like to add that when I contacted them to ask why people that I suggested friend them and vote for Adam and Diana where rejected or not accepted, preventing them from voting, I received no answer. Furthermore, all my questions and comments were deleted from their wall as fast as I could make them. Then I was quickly blocked from any further contact with them as were many others who asked questions. I believe this company should be investigated for holding a fake contest and should be confronted publicly with the facts. I am embarrassed and ashamed that I directed my friends to Flora Fotography's page because of their dishonest and underhanded dealings. A very nice couple tried very hard to win this contest in Good Faith and were heartbroken when they found out the REAL truth about Flora Fotography. Flora Fotography admitted that they didnt accept some friend requests and rejected others, but said it was their "right" to do so....how can it even be called a contest then? Battle Creek should be ashamed to be associated with Flora Fotography, but since they picked a hometown couple I guess that makes them heroes. A real hero would be a company that was on the up and up in holding a contest for the public. Be sure that I will let everyone that I know in on the way Flora Fotography does business. read more
