Overall, it was a really lovely meal, albeit with relatively slow service (considering the restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived I'm surprised it was as slow as it was). This is definitely a more modern take on classic Indian dishes than some of the other Indian food we had in London. I really enjoyed the creativity, and the food overall was excellent. The Jerusalem artichoke papdi chaat was definitely my favorite of the small plates. It uses crispy thinly sliced fried sunchokes in place of the typical fried crackers. I enjoyed the bergamot lemon chicken tikka and makhani sauce, however I thought it was a bit more mild and less impactful (flavor-wise, not just spice-wise) than similar dishes I had at other Indian restaurants in London. I still enjoyed it and thought it was tasty. I also loved the dessert I tried, which was a shahi brioche tukda tandoor pineapple. The decor was really funky with a bit of steampunk influence thrown in. This was a great option that was already in the neighborhood where we were staying. It was a nice change from the more traditional Indian menus at other restaurants. I would recommend a meal here, especially if you want to try Indian food with a more modern and unique twist, however just beware that the service can be a bit slow. read more

Overpriced, bad serviced, mediocre food. Our starter was served stale, okra fries notably from the night before. The service for the price point of the restaurant was extremely poor. The waiter was inconsistent and rarely to be seen, additionally unhelpful with the menu, and consistently upsaleing the food. The food, mediocre at best, ranged from mid 20 to 30 pounds for a multiple bite main. All of the courses came at once and were quite literally dumped on our table. Overall, I would definitely not recommend this restaurant, save your pockets, there is amazing Indian food elsewhere all over London. And, if you are looking for a more higher end Indian restaurant, I recommend Dishooms where we experienced amazing service and food. read more

I dined here this evening and the experience surpassed all expectations of an upscale Indian meal. I wish I had been with a group so I could have tasted more dishes. Everything was exquisite, from the wide selection of unique gins to the choices of small plates, main courses, and sides. I had a curry asparagus dish with a yogurt and cherry tomato garnish, soft shell crab, and of course, the lamb chop. Everything was perfect. The service was lovely, although the place was not crowded so it shouldn't have been too much of a challenge to keep the guests happy. This is a lovely space with delicious Indian food! There is significant heat in the spice, which I enjoy but it might be too much for people with a more sensitive palette. We had the Tandoori Chicken, Zucchini and Carrots with the cheesy naan for the mains - all were super good...but the star of the show was definitely the lamb chops starter. They were unbelievably delicious. I wish I had ordered a few of those for my main. I will be fantasizing about these chops back at home in Seattle. Highly recommended. So delicious! Probably the best Indian I've ever eaten. This small quaint restaurant is worth a visit. You'll want to make a reservation as it only seats about 15-20 people. They take Indian staples and modernise the dishes. My mom sister and I shared some curries, rice and yogurt and left beyond full. You can tell passion goes into every dish they make. Staff are very friendly and there is no rush to get you out. Stay as long as you like to talk. It's a bit pricey but that's to be expected in the beautiful Kensington neighbourhood. Wow. This place was incredible. Aside from the amazing food, the service was honestly the best service I've ever had. With serious allergies, these employees had excellent service. Expensive but exquisite (and not that expensive if you're just nibbling and nursing a drink). This may be the best food I've ever had except for what a friend of mine routinely makes (and he's a genius so it isn't a fair comparison). This is a fusion Indian restaurant as everyone has already noted and yes, I was a little skeptical. In Chicago, we have a number of these restaurants, and although tasty, I cringe at the westernization of some of the simple street foods of the subcontinent. Anyway, my husband I decided to try it, because maybe in London, it would be a different experience. We were in London for a one night stopover and this restaurant was close to our hotel. First, I have to say, the décor and service was exceptional. We were seated in a nice private area and given some recommendations for items to order. One of the recommended dishes was papdi chaat, but seemed to be made with potato chips. I wasn't too fond of this and it just tasted like chips with some yogurt on it. We also had the okra fries, basically okra fried with a light batter and chaat masala. I found these particularly tasty with the squeeze of lime and I would definitely order them again. The rice had too much kaffir lime for my liking. As for the main dishes, the portions were somewhat small for the price (maybe I'm used to be Chicago and American portions and prices). We ordered the Rogan Josh, which was very tasty and spicy, but a little oily. The dish seemed like a typical Indian/Pakistani dish you could get better elsewhere and it did not live up to something that would be served in a fusion upscale restaurant. It wasn't bad, just wasn't anything particularly out of the ordinary. We also ordered the Paneer Kofta, which I think was the best dish. This dish is what makes this restaurant stand-out and shows the creative aspects of a true fusion restaurant. Overall, I enjoyed my experience (The spices cleared my sinuses and the food left me full!) but I wasn't particularly moved by any of the food. I appreciate the thought put into this restaurant and the great customer service as a foreigner visiting for a short-while.
