We are still getting used to MN winters and are discovering the phenomena of community centers and…read moreindoor playgrounds. We found this one when we got up today and decided to head over. Our son had a blast. There is plenty of playground equipment to climb on and over. There is a basketball court area as well as a soccer area with fake turf. There is also one of those bouncy pads for kids to toss themselves around on. There is also a separate play area for kids 2 and under, which is good, so you don't have to worry as much about them getting trampled. There is also an area with tables and chairs so you can bring in food and eat, take a break, or sit and read while your kids burn some calories.

Why didn't I find this place sooner? An indoor playground in Minnesota! Woo hoo! This is great…read morefor kids of all ages even those adult kids with little kids. Even my hubby (a big kid) was shooting hoops. My young son of 4 was loving the green, purple and blue playground. There a great trampoline area, a playground for climbers, a playground for little ones, soccer field and basketball court. Even a spot for a parent to chill with some snacks or a beverage while their kid is running around. Rules...no food or beverage while playing and no shoes. They have cubbies up front for jackets, shoes, etc. Totally recommend for those needing a place for their kids to be kids and get exercise especially in the winter climate!

That waterslide with the lights and music? Awesome! It's a one of a kind experience. Beyond the waterpark the playground was also great. It's not your average playground; it's big, well designed and has tons of opportunities for kids to explore and play. What really makes Shoreview Community Center stand out is the community. They offer so much more than just a pool and playground. From the fitness center to the skatepark they have created a space for all interests and ages. It's clear they have invested in making a valuable resource for everyone.

What an amazing indoor water park for the family! We went here for a kiddos birthday party. The…read morecabanas are in Bamboo Bay area vs the main pool area. Bamboo Bay is much louder than the main pool area due to the fact it's more enclosed and there are sprayers with lots of water all over. The lifeguards do a great job of keeping their eyes on the kiddos cause it can get very very packed in both pool areas and kids of all different ages including adults too! The bathrooms and lockers are great and all facilities are pretty new and kept clean. I do love the spinner to spin clothes after swim time... As a side note, if you're like me and just hung out with other parents while the kiddos swam...it can get very very hot and humid so dress accordingly even in the winter time!

I was in the area (for a Yelp Elite experience, actually lol) but it was a gorgeous day outside…read more(aka, forties in February) so I wanted to make sure I soaked up some of the sunshine in the afternoon. Peeking at this place on Google maps it didn't look like much, but I gave it a shot; I'm quite glad I did! Part of why I'd been unsure was because it does have a relatively small footprint of the landscape (it doesn't even encompass the entire lake, as many houses have backyards around more than half the shore... boo). But, they made up for it with a really nice visitor center and art installations! Honestly, I'd say this place wouldn't be half as good without the outdoor art walk; I really enjoyed discovering all the unique and fun sculptures along the path. It meant I got a much more engaged and lengthy experience; I don't know if their longest path was much more than a mile's distance, but because of the sculptures I kept venturing off the paved path to check them out up close (and take photos and selfies with each)! It was fun. There seemed to be two parking lots. The one near the visitor center was pretty large and seemed to be necessary; there were quite a lot of visitors there when I was, plus a school bus! Most of the visitors seemed to be there to enjoy some skating around out on the frozen lake, but others were walking the trail. Inside the visitor center were bathrooms, including a family restroom, water fountains, including a water bottle refill station, cute little trinkets to buy, a cafe with beverages and bakery snacks, a cozy seating area, lots of rooms for community events, a board advertising said community events for the next couple months, and an art exhibit. I was grateful for the easy access to bathrooms and water! Just outside the visitor center was one of the most adorable little free libraries I've ever seen, nestled inside a mushroom-like sculpture! All in all, definitely worth checking out. Unless you lived nearby, you probably wouldn't go too repeatedly (I think the indoor art exhibit changes seasonally, but the outdoor one has been installed awhile... one of the plaques read 2018), but it's great for a one-off or occasional visit!
