Awesome! It's a one of a kind experience. Beyond the waterpark the playground was also great. It's not your average playground; it's big, well designed and has tons of opportunities for kids to explore and play. What really makes Shoreview Community Center stand out is the community. They offer so much more than just a pool and playground. From the fitness center to the skatepark they have created a space for all interests and ages. What an amazing indoor water park for the family! We went here for a kiddos birthday party. The cabanas are in Bamboo Bay area vs the main pool area. Bamboo Bay is much louder than the main pool area due to the fact it's more enclosed and there are sprayers with lots of water all over. The lifeguards do a great job of keeping their eyes on the kiddos cause it can get very very packed in both pool areas and kids of all different ages including adults too! The bathrooms and lockers are great and all facilities are pretty new and kept clean. I do love the spinner to spin clothes after swim time... As a side note, if you're like me and just hung out with other parents while the kiddos swam...it can get very very hot and humid so dress accordingly even in the winter time! read more

If I could give this zero stars I would! I took my kids here for a simple swimming outing, but the experience turned into something really upsetting due to both the environment and the staff's lack of action. After swimming we sat in the seating area while I gave my kids some snacks. A visibly intoxicated woman sat next to us and began making inappropriate disturbing comments directed at my children. I initially tried to ignore her hoping she would move along but the situation quickly escalated. She stood over my infant in their car seat which felt threatening and completely unacceptable. I repeatedly asked her to back away from my kids because I had no idea what she might do in her condition. Instead of stepping in staff and security stood by and watched the situation unfold. Even as the woman continued yelling using profanity and attempting to get closer to my children who were clearly frightened no one intervened or made any effort to de-escalate or remove her. This place not only failed to provide a safe, family friendly environment but the complete lack of response from staff made the situation far worse. It was an extremely distressing experience and I would not recommend this facility to families expecting basic safety and support. read more

This is for the swimming lessons. These were the worst we tried and the 3 stars is for the pool that the lessons take place in. The pool is warm and cute. For reference we did lessons at Shoreview community center, Roseville community center, Maplewood community classes, YMCA and Foss. Shoreview was by far the worst. The community center is absolutely wonderful. They have a slightly warmer pool than most places and hot tub. They also have a gym. Membership cost is on the lower end compared to YMCA and other fitness centers. The community center also has spaces to study and eat. read more

I took my kiddo to the Shoreview Community Center pool for the first time the other day. I'm kicking myself for not going there sooner! It's so cute! There's something to do for kids of all ages. We went right when they opened during winter break so it was very crowded! It did calm down after a couple of hours. So on busy days, I will not be going right at opening time in the future Their big slide is awesome! I believe it was a 45" height requirement so my 6 year old barely made it. When we went the line moved slowly, but you get to choose a song to listen to while doing down the slide. There's super hero songs, Disney tracks, and even Taylor Swift choices. My wife and I rented the Shoreview Community Center (Shoreview Room - Summer Package) for our wedding reception. The venue (Shoreview Room) and summer package (Pavilion, Deck, & Fountain) were amazing and a perfect fit for all of our event needs. Kirby was excellent to work with - She was extremely communicative/responsive, clear, and consistent with all of the rental amenities and venue expectations. Additionally, Kirby and the community center staff were extremely supportive in providing all information and assistance needed both prior to and during the day of the event. We would without hesitation utilize and recommend the Shoreview Community Center for hosting future events. read more

Very clean and the staff is always welcoming. Hot tub is excellent and near by for quick cool offs. I wish there was a sauna and/or steam room and the lap pool was separate waterpark features all together. Without kids early mornings are far more manageable. read more

One of the nicest community centers in the metro region. This location includes a huge indoor playground, huge water park, gymnasium, and workout gym. The building was well taken care of and very clean. In terms of price, the daily pass rates were very reasonable at basically $10 a person with family passes capping at $42. Not a bad price for spending an afternoon of burning off energy by running and swimming. You can easily make a day or 1/2 out of this place, our kids loved it. read more

We came from out of town and went here with my brother who goes there often with his kids. My kids were obsessed and honestly so was I! This place is amazing and if I lived in Minnesota, I would go back. We started off with the indoor play ground-my kids could spend all day here. One of the best indoor play grounds we have ever been to. Big enough for kids to have fun-small enough that I felt safe letting my kids go in. Then we went to the pool. Another amazing place. I loved the bamboo area for the little ones. And the life guards were amazing, they are so patient! The only negative for the entire day was the amount of kids. I lost count on the number of camps that were there that day, and they were definitely a little rowdy. But it didn't stop my kids from having fun. And lastly the playground outside. This is another gem!! One of the best outdoor playgrounds I have ever seen. So beautiful and spread out so it never feels crowded. This place was amazing. A great snack bar with lots of options. For a community center this place has pretty much everything in one location. -Indoor waterpark - Snack bar -Indoor playground (now it's no Edinborough, but nice enough) - Outdoor playground - Shelter rentals -Small fitness gym, indoor track -Youth classes -Gyms -Wedding reception rentals. There is a lot to offer and it's nice outside as well. Little paths, big truck shows for kids, plenty of parking. One of the nicer community centers in my opinion. read more

One star, says my kids because it is apparently dangerous. They said that the carpet is slippery and they fell down several times. Also, the slide is too fast with not enough padding at the bottom and my kids complained that they banged their knees. They also said that the structure creeks and shakes a lot. It's a water park. It's a fitness center. It's the Shoreview Community Center. This place is one of the best things about living in Shoreview, but you don't have to be Shoreview resident to use the facilities. They have a pool with a huge waterslide, workout room, two large gyms, an indoor track, and meeting rooms that you can rent for parties. They have swimming lessons, classes you'd find at any fitness center (yoga, pilates, spinning) and personal trainers you can hire to get the most from your workout. They even have free daycare. My daughter takes swimming lessons at the pool and she loves to play there. They have a shallow area for little kids with a small slide, a couple of swimming lanes, and floating animals for older kids to play on in the deep area of the pool. If you come to use the pool, take note of the open swim schedule because there's always something going on there. The pool is always staffed with lifeguards and they are a very well run group. They are mostly teenagers, but they're attentive and professional. They run surprise drills on them to keep them on their toes. My wife has seen them in action when it hasn't been a drill and was impressed at how quickly they acted and how each of them knew exactly what role they had in the rescue and what they should do. The Shoreview Community Center is as good, if not better, than any chain fitness center out there. They have annual memberships as well as daily admissions. It's a great place for families and a great place to have a gathering, whether it be for a club or a party. read more

Walking into drop off my child who has to have her temp checked and masked at all times for preschool. While people are walking in & out not even checking in without a masked. Not even bring them in with them to the gym. I called MOD says CDC lies BS. So here it is. " People who are engaged in high intensity activities, like running, may not be able to wear a mask if it causes difficulty breathing. If unable to wear a mask, consider conducting the activity in a location with greater ventilation and air exchange (for instance, outdoors versus indoors) and where it is possible to maintain physical distance from others." That is what the CDC says. This is indoors and you are putting my child at risk. No workes say anything to anyone must not want their job. This CDC crap is not to go by. My husband and I booked the Community Center for our wedding reception and I am very happy we did! We booked the Shoreview room because of the view, size, and decor. It was a nice space that didn't need a complete overall to make it look nice. We had very simple decorations (which made set up and tear-down super easy) and they worked very well in the space because, like I said, it was already a nice space. We had 160 guests, which allowed NONE of the table to be on the dance floor, so no one had to loose their place (no one likes being at that table!). In addition to it being a nice space, they let US choose our caterer (we didn't have to use anyone on an exclusive list) and the price was right. It was a little more than I wanted to pay, but I'm not one to want to spend a lot of money and it was just a little more than I wanted to pay ($100 more), so it was kind of easy to chew it and I'm very happy that I did! read more

Since joining 7 years ago I am sad to sad things have gone so far downhill I can hardly believe it! The maintenance has deteriorated, unfinished painting, chipped paint, taped signs sliding down the walls, the loss of two great staff who kept the pool and senior programs great! Seniors have left by the dozens, in part because kids have the run of the entire place with little to no constraint! The other day I was told to "go to hell!" by some mothers who were enraged at having their children told "please be careful, this is the eating area, not the play area" and they came over to we 73 and 89 year old grandmothers to verbally assault us! Wow! One of the staff told us "you have to understand that parents today think their kids are perfect". So watch out! It's not the quality environment it once was! Disregard the following as it no longer applies! ---- This place is truly terrific for kids, adults AND seniors! We are members as are one of our children and their family of three. We enjoy lap swim, exercise classes, but MOST OF ALL -- the wonderful people with whom we have met and become friends! What a great place and great staff!! read more

Tropical Adventure - odd name for a play area. But then again the kids don't really care what its called as long as its fun. Tropical Adventure is a two story behemoth. A ginormous version of kiddie habitrails you may have seen elsewhere. Its designed and built by Orca Coast who apparently do a lot of these (much bigger even) http://www.orcacoastplay.com/project-gallery/woo-hoo-quebec/ The kids climb, slide, jump, run and essentially burn up all that kiddish energy. Works for me. The cost is not minimal - daily passes are $9/10 for kids/adults ($34 family). Yearly family memberships are $756 for non residents. But, thats less than 18 cents an hour. They also have a water park and gym facilities but we didn't go there. read more

I explained to them that we were new and just checking things out, they got us moving in the right direction, gave us helpful information for return visits and just made the whole experience comfortable. We had a great time exploring the pools and getting in some fun exercise. The little guy I nanny had soooo much fun!!! Places like this are why pedophiles should have to wear GPS locaters... Sorry Shoreview, but your claim to fame is your community center... otherwise, pretty much everything else in that city sucks. It seems to me like the citizens tax money could have been spent better on other things besides a waterpark/gym/skate park, but maybe I'm wrong... I do know they make a decent amount of money off it so that's nice I'm sure. I can remember being a kid and enjoying the water park on those hot days... it was so nice to pay a flat fee and swim for hours, even go down the water slide! The only thing I didn't like was that the "kiddy pool" was connected to the main pool, and even at the tender age of 7 I realized that enough people already peed in the pool... there was no doubt leaky fecal diaper matter in the water from the toddler area. But no matter, our friend Mr. Chlorine (thanks for lying about it changing colors when you pee MOM) supposedly took care of that! Summer days and evenings were spent here, until I got to be a little bit older... and now when I want to have fun on the water, I take out a speed boat and tube behind it at breakneck speeds. read more

I'm new to the Shoreview Community Center but so far it has been great. I use the workout facility and do some Candlelight Yoga on Sunday nights. We had a memorial service here and now wished I would have looked elsewhere, for one reason; complete lack of customer service. We were told that we would not have access to kitchen without a licensed caterer and $200 fee, which was fine. We were not told we would not be able to get access to water to make coffee, which is not fine. The manager on duty, Tina, was a nightmare to work with the day of the event. when I tried to provide feedback about my experience with Tina I got the impression they could not care any less than they did. I would not recommend this facility to anyone wanting to have a good experience and by treated as a customer. read more

Great place to take a break for the little kids tagging along for the hockey tournament. The warm air and small & big water slide are a hit! So is the lily pad rope course. Only bummer is the music to the big water slide stopped working right when the water aerobics group came. Not sure why and the lifeguards weren't willing to help the kids get it back on. I did not like the service and I thought it was a waste of taxpayer's money to open a city owned YMCA/Waterpark!

First off, I am going out of my way to make a yelp account to write this. I was here for a birthday event, and there was no hospitality whatsoever. Very rude workers that would come and interrupt your room to tell you that your time is about to expire, and also camped outside our room with 5 minutes left. Such a sad experience, I would not recommend this place for anyone. They act friendly when you're going to pay for the room, then when you actually get the room they are are rude and have no hospitality. First and last time I will ever come here!
