My 8-year-old son…read moreand my other children are confident, experienced swimmers, yet we were repeatedly told they had to stay within arm's length of me at all times. To help the lifeguards feel more comfortable, I even put life jackets on my children, but it still wasn't enough. Throughout our visit, my kids weren't allowed to swim away from me and had to remain right next to me the entire time, which made it impossible for them to enjoy the pool. As we were leaving, I read the posted sign, which stated that children under 8 must be accompanied by a parent. Since my son is 8 years old, I questioned why this rule was being enforced on him. I was told the sign was a "typo," which was frustrating and confusing. If the posted rules are incorrect, they should be updated instead of expecting guests to follow rules that aren't clearly communicated. I also couldn't help but notice that my family appeared to be the only Muslim family there. I don't know whether that influenced how we were treated, but the experience left me feeling singled out. I hope management reviews how policies are communicated and applied so that all families are treated consistently and respectfully. Because it is a biofiltered pool, the water isn't as clear as a chlorinated pool, but it still felt clean and well maintained. I came here with some friends the day before the Fourth of July and was surprised it wasn't as packed as it could've been! Some things to note: 1. Bags are inspected upon entry. 2. Outside food and beverages are not allowed (although I had a water bottle and they let it through). 3. There's no changing room onsite, but there's a bathroom that can be used for changing. 4. There's lots of lawn space to spread out. 5. While there's no parking lot, there's ample street parking. Definitely a place to add to the summer rotation :)

The lifeguards take their jobs and safety seriously, which was comforting to see. My kids LOVE the lazy river but I was disappointed that they got rid of the inner tubes they used to have, so it's not really a "lazy" river anymore since you can't just relax and float. The not so good: the prices are so high! $14 per person for ages 2+, plus a 3% credit card fee. You are allowed to get a stamp for re-entry but you are not allowed to bring any snacks so anyone who has children knows, you won't make it longer than 2-3 hours with kids without food. They do have a concession stand, but as expected they only offer pizza burgers and the like, no fruit or veggies or other healthy snacks. For a family of 4 to enjoy 2 hours at the pool we paid $57, which is quite high. The other not so good bit is the pool is always so crowded; we got there 20 min after they opened and could not find a chaise to set our stuff on. The sign at the entrance says the capacity is 644, but I can't imagine if they actually allowed that many people in, it would be utterly unbearable. In summary, this is a great community space but I personally do not plan to go more than once per season because of the over crowding and the high cost.

We arrived at about 10:15am and had what I think is a very reasonable assumption (that other people around us also had) that when "tot time" was over we could simply stay and enjoy the pool even though it would be a mix of older kids and families joining in. But that is not the case! They kick you out at 10:45AM sharp, at which point they will charge you a full re-entry price, and have a police officer onsite specifically to take your toddlers snacks out of your beach bag. What a joke. Go out and catch some real criminals instead of harassing my kid.

They have little pockets away from the actual beach that you can chill in with your dog or launch off with your kayak/padddleboard but again it's a busy place so sometimes people are using those areas. We went on a Wednesday and the garbage was still full to the top from the weekend so it was a little dirty in the area.

There are small rain gardens featuring native plants and plenty of lawn and field all around plus the baseball fields. But we only came here for the kid attractions. The splash pad has three different fountains that will be running at a time, 6 in total, that alternate with three coming up from the ground and three coming from rocks. And then, this is my favorite part, the water from the splash pad spills into a man-made stream. I actually had a lot of fun looking through the beautiful rocks and organizing them by look and feel with the kids. Find the button to turn on the splash pad on the short blue pole by the fountains. There was a small playground that didn't get much attention while I was there, but the large playground has a lot going on for little kids as well as big kids. There's even one really close tonight that you can only get to by climbing up a few rope ladders. They did have porta potties nearby, but the only thing missing is a bathroom. I love that they have a partial fence separating the main playground from the parking lot, and a shaded gazebo for grown-ups to sit at. I wish I had a park like this in my city near Atlanta! It would get so much action. I was actually surprised this place wasn't swarming with people and we visited on a summer Tuesday morning.

Facility is nice and employees are great, what's not so great is, the evaluation system. I understand it's some what subjective to who's doing the evaluation, but the general goal shouldn't be to maximize as much revenue as they possible can, rather considered your child's skills. It feels like the pass/repeat/fail all depends on how many kids they have registered and if they have available room or not, definitely your child's skill set isn't the primary factor. Exhibit A: our daughter tried North Wolf swimming club and passed with flying colors. She just wasn't used to the coach style learning and she was intimidated with coach yielding to other kids, she wasn't ready for that. We decided to continue with FOSS. They kept her in the same class for 3 consecutive seasons and the excuses were, she needs to work on her "breathing" or she needs to work on her hands! This is a girl that swamped the whole Olympic size swimming pool back and forth for her try out! Later we discovered they didn't have enough student registered for the next up session and the existing class is over capacity! Exhibit B: They placed a new student in their group, whom happens to be a girl my friend goes to school with. She never attended swimming lesson but she ended up in the same class as our daughter! Now you have kids with high varying degree in their skill sets and our daughter ends up not getting enough attention the instructor focuses more in monitoring others and helping others. I don't like singling out employee as they get the over arching theme instructions from the corner offices, but Alexander, floor manager, took it to the next level when I tried to approach her with our over all concerns! Her general responses was, "you telling me your concern doesn't change how we grade" paraphrased! So, this is our last session and we are taking our daughters to a different place where they can learn and excel!! PS: they charge us ~$250 per season. roughly we spend ~$750 to learn the same skill sets, the pattern has been repeat x3 per each session/season!

We've had a few headaches with the level progression. They wanted to hold my child back based on one thing he needs to work on. Then he's bored in the next session while the other kids look like beginners. I dislike that they level eval so early in the session. It seems like they don't want to pass anyone. So they get your child swimming? Yes. Its a headache sometimes that they aren't working specifically on what your child needs to work on. Frustrating. I wish they'd teach more endurance and how to tread water. They need more showers too. And as of today the pool is filthy. Like so dirty. Yuck! No wonder why my child keeps getting ear infections. Overall we continue to go as we have a pool at our House. He needs to learn to swim and nothing in the area compares.
