They gave her flea medication!! I took her for a second opinion at Vca , today it was a fungal infection!!! I'm out of another $200 for medication for my dog!! This has been my go to veterinary for about 7 years now. I am very grateful for Dr Flores and his staff. The hours of operation are very convenient for people that work during the day or people that live far like myself (2hrs away). I recently took my dog in after he was viciously attacked by three other stays. Flores wasted no time in treating my dog and took him in without an appointment. Flores truly does care for the well being of the animals that make it to his establishment. He will not nickel and dime you as other people have stated in the reviews. I've saved a lot of money going to this veterinary and I will continue to schedule any vet appointments here. One thing that might deter people is the dry/dark humor... this is one of the many reason I keep coming to this place. My girlfriend and I keep a running list of puns and dad jokes from Dr Flores. If I could give this place zero stars I would! I scheduled an appointment for my dog on 8/16/2023 because she had a hot spot on her stomach and she had scratched her stomach raw. When I called to schedule the appointment, they had asked what the appointment was for so I told them about the hotspot and requested that they also clip her nails. My appointment was at 2:40. When I arrived for my appointment, there was a sign on the door that said "we're closed be back at 4:00. As I was headed back to my car, another customer came to the door and the vet was inside. When he opened the door for her and her dog, I stated oh if you are opened, I also have an appointment at 2:40. The vet seemed irritated that I had an appointment and said what time is it now? I replied 2:45. He rudely said, "well if you have an appointment, bring your dog and he closed the door. I replied ok, let me get my dog. When my dog and I got inside, the other customer was assisted right away and I noticed how everyone else were sitting in the back having lunch or on some sort of break which explains why they had the closed sign on the door. After sitting there being ignored for 30 minutes, someone finally came to the front reception area to check me in. She was a very pleasant young lady. She walked me to the exam room and in comes the same vet who seemed to be annoyed by my very existence. Prior to him checking my dog, I asked if he could also clip her nails and he said no the girls are at lunch. So I asked what I believed was the logical next question "Why would you all schedule an appointment if you are at lunch and can't treat patients? At that precise moment the vet snapped and said "Get your dog and get out!" In my astonishment, I replied "What? Are you not going to treat my dog? He yelled NO! FIND ANOTHER VET! I DON'T LIKE YOU ASKING ME QUESTIONS! then he opened the door and kicked me and my dog out! What in the hell kind of vet does that? I thought vets, became vets because they loved animals and don't want to see them in pain. Not at Florence Vetenarian Hospital, they are cold and have no compassion for animals. Also, I think the Vet didn't take his meds today because he clearly has some kind of mental problem. A real nut case is he! read more

After two surgeries, my kitten's eye continued to ooze and was starting to open again at the incision site. The office was closed for about a week. I took my kitten to another vet for yet another (emergency) surgery. They found an abundant necrotic tissue and remnants of his injured eye. Thank goodness my little kitten is now on the to recovery after 5 weeks and 3 surgeries. He's going to be OK, and even though it is an hour drive to the new vet, I will no longer be going to FLORENCE VETERINARY HOSPITAL. I have spent in excess of $1,000. read more

Well today I took our dog to get his nails clipped just like the last time I bought him in. He is hard to clip but I made the appointment & told them it was to clip. Well the vet came out to tell me we no longer do that. Well when I first took him in the vet says well maybe it's his name & then he smiles. If you truly love your pet you will not take any pet to this Dr. I will say, straight up, this man caused my dogs death. I was told in February 2024 my dog has a heart murmur and an enlarged heart was confirmed through xray. My little guy was put in 2 meds and for the next 6 months I carried him to put as little of a strain on his heart. When his coughing progressed to the point I believed maybe he was suffering I took him back in to see Flores. I tried to explain the coughing and that first thing in the morning when I would get him out of his bed he was very congested sounding and would cough up considerable phlegm. I asked if we could try an allergy shot to see if some of the congestion was allergies. He became sarcastic and said he had been a Dr long enough to know it was not the heart it was his trachea. He gave him a shot to stop the coughing. Afterward he said there was morphine in the shot and winked like it was a joke. My dog slept through the night but when we got up about 9 am and set him on the floor he wasn't coughing. The breathing sounded congested. After he peed he just looked weak which I thought was probably a hangover from the morphine. I held him on my lap , his trying to breathe through the phlegm was getting worse. I tried multiple times to call the vet office but the # would tell me to input an access #.? I finally called VCA and explained some of what was going on and said I believed he needed to be euthanized. They said to bring him in in one hour. A few minutes later while laying on my lap he just died. Due to Flores being a smart ass my poor dog was misdiagnosed and suffocated on his phlegm. I would never take another pet to this inept vet! Shame on you Dr Flores! read more

if i could leave a zero i would this place will nickel and dime you and repeatedly ask you to bring your pet in for an issue that shoud have been resolved in the first place. we spent almost 300 dollars for simple ear mites yet went home with no medication call up to let them know hey your ear lavage didn't work can you just call in the medication that should have been sent in the first place. no you need to pay again and bring him back in what a joke. i work for a doctors office everytime we do a ear lavage patient is sent home with a prescription for ear drops. then your appointment is scheduled for 6:30 two hours later you are seen. just a scheming scamming office! read more

The people who don't use Yelp are the people who love Dr. Flores the most. My nephew was surprised and amazed to meet a vet who's "brown and funny." Dr. Flores can tell jokes, talk about home remedies with your mom, loves ranch life, and is an excellent and knowledgeable vet. I know he doesn't need this review as people drive for hours to see him and the office is always packed. But just had to say it! read more

I was really impressed with this vet! As soon as you walk in it is very very clean. The staff is helpful and very nice. I brought my dog in for a consultation for his elbow and Dr. Flores was very knowledgable and likeable. I highly recommend this vet hospital, the staff is caring and very friendly. Dr Flores took such good care of our little Petunia when she needed emergency surgery, he went above and beyond to make sure Petunia was well taken care of. Dr Flores is an amazing Dr. who is very passionate in taking care of fur babies, always explains everything thoroughly and his prices are extremely reasonable. Deserves no star. Very unprofessional and unskilled Vet. I was in from out of town for the Winter, had a young black Lab that had an infection in her leg and shoulder. From the get go I suggested to him that I thought it was staphylococcus. He turned down that thought. Instead ran multiple tests, $1000 + in costs over a month of services, even indicated it might be TB. I took her to another Vet once home in the MidWest and it turned out to be exactly what I thought it might be, staphylococcus. During the time going there weekly for a month, he said he hated me...yes he actually said that. It gets worse, the last 2 minutes I was in the clinic he said I smelled like sulphyr like the Devil and called me Satin. OMG!! How rude, mean and unprofessional. Caution everyone......I am in the dog biz and have never seen a more unskilled Vet, unprofessional Vet and does not abide by Vet Association Rules. I feel bad for my girl going thru a high temp and pain all that time under his unskilled ways. Next I am going to send a registered letter requesting my return of over $1000.
