They did exactly what I wanted, which was to thin and shape a large tree artfully, and not just hack off the limbs like so many people do... Juan really displayed his expertise when he came by to do the estimate and advised us on what we should do now versus what we could wait on. Juan and his team cut three trees and removed/ground three stumps for us, as well as pruned our large Italian Stone Pine. The team was really communicative. On a Sunday, a large pittosporum in our back yard became uprooted from the recent heavy rains and fell over about halfway, threatening both our house and our neighbor's house. We needed to get it removed right away because on Tuesday, another bout of heavy rains was expected, which could topple it further and damage these structures. I called four companies. (Of them, two have still not returned my calls, one did not have workers' compensation insurance, and Juan of Flores Tree Service got the job and did the work.) Juan came out right away and provided an estimate. He also answered our questions about how he would go about removing the tree. Tackling it was tricky because regardless of which end you started on--the foliage on top or the roots at the base--there was risk of the other half falling and causing damage. Despite this, the 5-man crew inspired confidence. They roped various parts of the tree to provide support while they worked.
