This is a regular stop for me when I head home to NC. I stopped on Feb 24 to gas up and pick up oranges to take home. The staff offer samples of the for sale fruit and they were great, juicy and flavorful. So I purchased a smaller bag for $16.95. Arriving home the next day my wife sliced an orange to find a black rot in the flesh of the fruit. We sliced another and found it to be dry, tasteless and barely edible. In short first 5 oranges were very poor. This is the first time I've had this problem and hope it is not the future of florida citrus. read more

I had stopped at one of these (Florida Citrus Center) near the Saint Augustine exit, and it's the same as the one near Yulee, except the one at Yulee has a much better (cleaner) bathroom. Other than that, they are the same. Free juice, and fresh fruit samples. The navel orange samples were so sweet, and delicious. Cheap Florida shirts (3 for $12). I pulled up to the station at 6:30 AM to get gas. Several pumps said only 93 then I stopped at one with 87. Card machine didn't work and after inquiring with the staff they said go down the street because the gas is cheaper. Joke of a business read more

Oh my gosh, this has to be the unfriendliest place we hit in the entire South. One of the cashiers , M, (10:00 am on 4-13-2012) was berating people for trying to get gas at a pump that---unbeknownst to the customers--- wasn't working. "You'll have to MOVE" she kept insisting, rather than: "Sorry, that pump isn't working; could you move to another pump?" Rudeness was her default setting. My attempt to buy to orange trees was a study in determination to buy something in the face of flat-out ugliness. She said "You mean you want a BAG of oranges." Me: "No, I want an orange TREE." She: (Rolled eyes.) If the prices wouldn't have been decent, she would have driven me off. Don't stop here; it's miserable. read more

Stop here every time we return home from Fliorida but the oranges have disappointed the last couple trips. The bag we bought a few weeks ago absolutely had no flavor. When your name is Florida Citrus Center, you have to do better. read more

My boyfriend and I had stopped at the citrus center during our long road trip when the flashy billboards caught my eye. I was eager to try the fresh oranges and observe the baby alligators that said bill boards advertised. Instead of fresh juice samples, abundance of juicy oranges and satisfactory customer service, I found myself in an environment that fostered animal cruelty at its finest, rude incompetent employees and less than acceptable food sales conditions. The oranges samples they have on hand are definitely not the same ones in the bags they sell. The ones I sampled were juicy and delicious but the ones in the bags were flat and dry. Bait and switch. read more

Gross and must miss. This place has billboards up and down I-95, they advertise the largest candy selection. It's a 1950s dumpy gas station with bags of oranges in front of the store. read more

Late one evening, my husband paid $20 for a bag of red naval oranges, only to get them home and find out half was rotten, about 1/3 was too green, which left about 5 that I could eat. Less than a week later, almost closing time, I returned them and exchanged them for another bag. Got it home and set the bag upon my couch. I started smelling something, and it was the bag of oranges. I picked it up, and it dripped juice on my sandals and all the way down the hall. I have bought my red navels here for years, but these last couple of years the quality of the produce and the cashier's attitudes have really dwindled. so later I found that the bag of oranges they gave me under "Florida Oranges" were california oranges ,, the same stuff you can buy from any Wal-Mart.. I cant believe that they even ship these high priced oranges to some folks... never go there ! read more
