At the meeting I was told to send my transcripts and I will hear back in regards to what actual classes I will need. I did as advised and waited and waited and waited. I never received a call or an email and the fall semester started without me. I am extremely disappointed because if this is how they treat potential student who are willing to pay higher price than most, what can I expect when I do pay them.

I pull over at St Pete College and call Roadside Assistance 'cause I got it! Gigi and D see the sign for The Campus Cafe and trek over to see what they could discover. They came back with a Breakfast Burrito and Lucky Charms cereal! We all tried the Burrito! Gigi decided, "It's awesome!" The declaration was unanimous! The sausage, egg, and cheese is brought together with a tasty salsa and nicely wrapped in a soft flour tortilla! Simply made, it shouts "Delish!" See? That's all I got ... and that's all to be said!

I have…read moreexperienced numerous disappointments, no matter how hard I would continue to push forward with the best attitude and dedication I could towards furthering my education. I have participated in the Student Survey of Instructions, but I feel professors don't leave as much impact as the administrative and advising roles. These positions can make or break a student's experience. Within my first year of courses, a very close friend of mine passed away from a tragic car accident. We had planned the semester together and even shared some classes. After he passed, I had a professor bluntly ask me about the details of his death. So far as to ask if he was buried and where. This is completely unethical and out of conduct for a professor. In the summer of 2013, I embarked on a study abroad program with St. Petersburg College. I was blessed to be able to attend on a scholarship. Even with such funds, I cannot say the experience can be justified with how the program was portrayed. I met another student at an informational session, so we traveled to/from together. The course had no experience at all as what was described within the course/program outline. The biggest disappointment was that the professor brought his girlfriend and structured many of the day's activities around her schedule. I turned to Pasco Hernando State College (PHSC) to complete statistics, which I passed with an A. Within my short time there, it was a world of different experiences with their faculty and support staff. The team at PHSC truly strives for their students, such as Lynne Wolf did. I was so compelled by their enthusiasm and support, several times I even wrote thank you letters to people who had such an impact on me during my short time at PHSC. I finally really got a grasp on my coursework when I entered my bachelor's program at SPC. I brought attention to the matter of missing elective credits to my advisor. It was disappointing that my advisor had poorly advised me, and shared she questioned the curriculum as she didn't complete the program personally but had a colleague who did. It was due to taking pre-requisites as my electives in my associates' coursework, we couldn't understand the shortage of credits. I completed my capstone and won in the BSG. I felt the entire demeanor of the course was not motivating but more pressured under the influence of "if you don't pass you take another lap next semester." Never have I received such harsh scores without explanation of grading. Given time to reflect these encounters, I can say there is a lack of compassion and encouragement compared to my short experience with PHSC. I understand SPC may be a larger operation, but perhaps consider the opportunity to have a larger team to help your students rather than leave them to "figure it out." After all, we are the students. My dad was so proud to see my degree when it came in the mail. He was extremely broken-hearted at the printout sent to "take a photo and tag SPC on social media" that was enclosed with it. He felt this was so tasteless and poor representation for all my hard work as well as to the family of the graduating students. He questioned why it didn't have a cover, and how/where I could purchase one, he actually said "degrees are supposed to come in a cover." I keep trying to inquire about this cover to help amend this. But SPC can't see beyond the inquiry, telling me to check back. The printout for social media was in poor taste. Especially when you see the personal care packages PHSC mailed to their graduates. I understand there needs to be a budget in place for such things, but SPC could have done better than a printout for their own social media benefit. Having taken numerous business and marketing courses, I am sure none of the material would ever suggest a tasteless action such as this response such as the enclosed picture to my degree to take a photo to tag and share on social media.

It was quite an event and a memory that I draw on when ever I'm back to visit this beautiful city. I have several friends who graduated from this prestigious college. Because of that I had many opportunities to visit the campus. I always appreciated the unique Frank Lloyd Wright architecture as well. On my most recent visit 2/17/25, I took the FLW 1.5 hour tour which was fantastic and I highly recommend it.

It is definitely a treat for many historian, architect and engineer. The most famous building is the Annie Pfeiffer Chapel. You will be able to spot immediately from parking of the Branscomb Auditorium. Each build is lock during our visit because of Sunday. However, we do look at the outside of building. Any buildings that link by the walkway is Frank building. We enjoy our time here for the concert and architecture buildings. Frank design is low clearance. The walkway can be touch by the tip of the hand. Each walkway raise in profile is about three feet or six steps.

During a trip to Tampa, my buddy and I checked out the University of South Florida. USF has a large campus and it seems like more of a commuter school. We drove through it because we didn't really spot an area of campus that would be fun to walk. Most campuses have a quad that's picturesque but we weren't able to find USF's version if they have one. Not too impressive of a campus compared to others I've seen but maybe we just didn't run into the right area.

They are now holding me back from graduation until Spring 2025 over ONE credit (approximately 1/3 of the credits of a typical course), after their mistakes (i.e. not changing my major in the system so I couldn't sign up for classes for two entire semesters) cost me two semesters already. I was supposed to graduate Spring 2024. Then they denied my application to be a transient student at UWF for that one credit. Of course it's because they just want the money, it's evident they don't care about their students at all.

My daughter's safety was in jeopardy by an unruly roommate that had no respect for herself let alone the other roommates. My daughter told her RA and the Residence Office that guys were coming into the room at all hours of the night "expecting to get some". In addition, this roommate would lash out both verbally and physically (on video no less and yes the school is aware) and the school did NOTHING about it. When my daughter asked to switch rooms, they made her go through hell and back and guilted her for not problem solving herself. They upset her so badly that she was visibly upset and her other roommate had to come to the office to get her to calm her down. She finished out the semester and transferred out. Not only did I file a Title IX sexual harassment report that they buried but they also put a sanction on her so that she couldn't transfer easily to another dorming college. This school is not free. I paid tuition for my daughter to be harassed by her roommate and then her school. Shame on you UTampa. No wonder the retention rate is so awful. For those parents that worry about their children away at school, this is not the school for your kid.

I recently participated in a day-long conference at the St. Petersburg College EpiCenter campus…read morelocated along 58th Street, just north of Ulmerton Road in Largo, FL. This two-story building is primarily a series of classrooms and conference rooms for the College, but it also houses a section of the Pinellas County government and the Pinellas County Economic Development group. The facility is gorgeous -- very sleek, very modern, lots of elbow room, and free WiFi -- which are all good things. Upon entering the building there is a receptionist who will politely direct you to the correct office or conference room. If you're looking for a cup of coffee or a little breakfast, then she'll direct you to the Nature's Table café located across the lobby from her desk. I was there for a Department of Homeland Security conference on weather risks, and projections on climate change over the next several years (Welcome to part of my real life), and our group was situated in one of the larger conference rooms on the first floor. The room was narrow and long, but the designers had planned ahead and installed extra high-definition large-screen TV panels in the back half of the room so that everyone had a great view of the material being presented. Add in a podium and a hand-held microphone, and the presenters were able to easily walk around the room and interact with the audience while everyone was able to hear the discussions. Throughout the meeting we had tables in the back of the room set up with hot coffee, hot tea (Thank you, Jesus!), ice water, iced tea (Amen!), and a nice spread of breakfast pastries as well as big serving bowls of sliced up fresh fruit (Hallelujah!). I was happy to scoop up a big bowl of fruit, and enjoy that with my hot tea. While I don't normally get all excited about bathrooms, I will confess that their facilities were quite clean, and that there appeared to be plenty of room to accommodate everyone. If I lived in Pinellas County, then I would definitely consider this campus for continuing educational classes.

This college's Administration, advising, student help, and reception help are all complete BS…read morejokes! They don't help you when you need it and do nothing but bump you from one person to the next because they're lazy; especially when all you're trying to do is CHECK something anyone can check! Whether it be about Financial Aid, Classes, Graduation; you name it they are all lazy, rude and refuse to do it!!! They don't care about the students and when they give the "falsified air" that they do during Orientation/Open House... I'll warn you, they're lying out of their arses! Not only that but this horrible college screws you over the moment they find out you've taken more credit hours than they've ALLOWED you to take. They won't even take responsibility even when it's their error in reading your transcripts, so they put you in financial aid suspension and then make it difficult for you to even sign up for classes because they will deny your Maximum Time Frame Appeal despite the proof you have they messed up. Their advisors are rude, their call desk receptionists are rude, and they will get an attitude with you if you ask too many questions. Did I mention it takes them days to call you back? If I could, I'd give this College a rating as "negative infinity" and warn absolutely everyone that going here is a waste of time and money. Go to one of the State Universities like USF, UCF, UF, FSU; though they're not 100% better, they have it more together than this joke of a College. I've gone to this College for 2 years now; only stuck it out because I believed they would improve. I thought all the campus' were different but it turns out they are all the same. Now SOME of the Instructors are reaaaalllly nice. But you'll find that those Instructors also dual-teach at State Universities. Still telling any prospective students that if you don't care about never getting help or being screwed over by the faculty, then SPC is the College for you! If not, then go some place better where you actually get the quality classes you want and deserve. Because the classes in the Degrees and Subplans here are also a joke; they don't teach you anything you need to know when it comes to the real world; not even the generalized classes do this! Go to a specialized Institute or State University for that; else you're just wasting your money, scholarships, and FAFSA limit of 30k you get if you're under the age of 24. Have fun continuing your education at another University after that if you plan to when you're under 24.

God forbid they change the tab for a few moments. that's a good days worth of detention. they don't teach. the kids teach themselves. It is very different than "traditional" school but SO beneficial for kids. They focus on learning through DOING. Both of our kids have flourished in this school. Administration is very caring and supportive as well.

Unfortunately, my experience was not only disappointing -- it was harmful. Despite being branded as a Jewish school, many core religious traditions were inconsistently practiced. Even something as foundational as maintaining a kosher kitchen was not handled with the seriousness one would expect. But far more concerning was how the school handled (or failed to handle) student well-being, academic support, and mental health. I was forced to repeat a grade due to a single assignment that significantly affected my grade -- something I was never warned about. I wasn't given access to my GPA or any understanding of how I was being assessed, and I received no chance to catch up or make up for it. As a result, I had to undergo two full years of credit recovery to repair the academic damage. But what hurt most was how my mental health was handled -- or ignored. My time there pushed me into a deep depression. I ended up needing help from more than two therapists, including a social worker, just to begin feeling somewhat stable again. The school's mental health department was virtually non-existent and unhelpful when I needed it most. Academic support? Also lacking. I needed help with reading comprehension -- help that others briefly received for only two weeks, then never again. There was no real effort to provide long-term solutions or individualized support. It felt like unless you were already excelling, you were left behind. Worse still was the school culture. Students were often cruel, and advocacy was discouraged. Any time I tried to speak up for myself, I was either ignored or punished. The administration, particularly under Principal Allison Oakes, cared more about the school's reputation than its students. I was called delusional for trying to advocate for myself -- and even faced threats of expulsion for it. I am sharing this not out of anger, but out of necessity. If no one else is willing to hold this institution accountable, I may need to take further action. No child should go through what I did. A school is supposed to be a place of growth and safety -- not one that diminishes you and silences your voice. If I wanted to call the school a place where it can damage a child that's the name I would give it . Protect your child's mental and physical health by not sending them there or else you would end up like an angry parent and asking why you sent your child there .

Both of my children attended Hillel Academy of Tampa. During our ten years at this school, my kids…read moreblossomed into amazingly social, funny, caring, and motivated individuals. The teachers and staff at Hillel are incredibly involved in each child's life. They regularly stop to share stories of the children's day, quickly address concerns, and try to involve parents to create a positive Jewish community as a whole. My son got into trouble just one time, it was addressed appropriately, but then many of the staff came to tell me (secretly) how proud they were of his misbehavior. They were actually happy he was comfortable enough to "act out" that one time. I would highly recommend this school to anyone seeking a strong community, a good Jewish education, and a loving/respectful environment for their children.
