It's stupid that yelp will only let you read negative reviews (in app)…read more As to my experience.. love advent health and the staff.. they are attentive to my needs .. the website is awful it just sits their spinning that little circle and never finally loads. I had an issue because united booted me out of the commons before my inpatient rehab was completed.. but I made home and the issue came about .. that I needed a dr referral for outpatient rehab .. I was immobile so I had to do a tele doc visit .. but that was with an rnn eventually everything worked out .

I was at this hospital in late September for a scheduled operation. I had a nice room with a window…read moreand a bathroom. Staff were professional and kind. On Monday evening, I arrived to ER at my PCP's urgent urging. They quickly processed me through, gave me my bloodwork and imaging. The waiting room was packed. One man spent hours crying out with abdominal pain. Another crazy had a few outbursts requiring security. I lost track of time watching elderly patients going unattended. I saw no less than three patients leave in desperation. Somewhere between 8 and 10 hours later, with no contact by medical staff to let me know what was going on, I was finally given a room in the ER. I can't be certain about the times, but I got settled around 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning and spent the rest of the night listening to a blind elderly woman screaming from her gurney in the hallway outside my room. I may have slept an hour before a staff member burst in and turned on the overhead lights to take my blood pressure again. In the morning following doctors visits they told me they'd found a room. I was rolled down the hall to what I call a tent room. The hall was a loud pass through with loud traffic and desks and noisy machinery rolling by. At my own home I had been sleeping on and off during the day. This new accommodation would keep me awake all day and into the night until I was too tired and slept until the nurses' station staff were laughing and telling stories throughout the night. While the doctors and nurses and professional staff were attentive and knowledgable, if you're looking for a hygienic, quiet repose, don't come here! (PS I am getting better though)

They got him moved as soon as another bed was available. We were both in Halifax after a very serious car accident, leaving him with broken ribs and me with neck fracture and lumbar spine fracture. We went into Brooks rehab after our hospital stay, and that was very good also. Our one main concern was that my husband was without pain meds and food/water for an extended amount of time because they kept saying he was going for a specific MRI (for gallbladder and pancreatitis), but they never showed up until the next day. He was in serious pain, even sweating due to pain, so I was very upset by this. Alex and Brittney, on 7th floor were WONDERFUL nurses! They came quickly when he needed them and never made him feel like a burden to them.

A young Black woman in her mid-20s reportedly presented to the ER in a sickle cell pain crisis and was met with what appeared to be condescension, patronizing language, and dismissal of her pain. Sickle cell disease is a genetic blood disorder that disproportionately affects African American patients and is well known in medicine for causing severe, excruciating pain crises due to blocked blood flow. These crises are considered medical emergencies and are commonly treated with timely opioid pain management when clinically indicated. In the video, the physician was seen talking down to her, due to her need for appropriate pain relief medication while citing vague statements like "studies show it's dangerous," despite the patient being in an emergency setting and clearly in distress. To many viewers like myself, this interaction reflected a lack of empathy, outdated or misapplied reasoning, and troubling bias, particularly toward a young Black woman advocating for herself. Regardless of intent, the encounter raised serious concerns about how pain, race, and chronic illness are handled in emergency medicine. Patients with sickle cell disease already face significant stigma and disbelief in healthcare settings, and situations like this only reinforce that fear. I hope Halifax Health takes these concerns seriously and prioritizes compassionate, evidence-based care for all patients.

I was having a colonoscopy that week and had to eliminate red. so no red beets and my blood pressure went up. the nurse now was so upsetting she asked me several times the same questions. what was your blood pressure? 3x. I'm normally a very nice person but the aggravation of being treated like a criminal was beyond upsetting and now an incompetent nurse who doesn't listen. then it was the second time the receptionists got my rx wrong. I was told we just sent it it will be there in 45 minutes. I go to Publix in 45 minutes. not there. I wait. go home keep calling. not there. the first time I go they sent it to Walmart not Publix. I said Publix. my sheet said Publix. it's important if you need your meds. it's inconvenient. there were more reasons why I was beyond upset with the receptionists and told them. young girls need to step it up!! bad all the way around except an excellent dr who I could not find out when she was going to be there again. the owner has a practice where you can make an appointment with. just not here. it's like a place with bars on the outside in LA. really ? you treat me like I'm going to harm a dr?? all of us!!! and I recommended two people here. what a mistake! never again. I got a letter that because I told the nurse to "listen". and the front desk not doing their job I cannot return. I had no desire to return to ineptitude and lack of respect to the patient!

The doctor diagnosed my problem very quickly, and they treated me within 15 minutes once I was in the exam room. I specifically chose this facility because it's ER doctors without the ER wait/price. It is a walk-in facility, so depending on demand, you may have to wait a while. But it's much better than, say, going to Quest and waiting without an appointment. And if you think about it, you wouldn't want them to cut your appointment time short and not give you the care that you deserve. So you might have to wait a little while.

When I arrived the receptionist told me it was my mistake and the appointment was actually at 10:30, same day. I knew this was wrong but had to drive back home to retrieve the written appointment page. I was indeed correct. My appointment was scheduled three weeks earlier for 7:50 am today. I drove back to the clinic to share the information. This time the new receptionist told the truth about Dr Locker moving the morning appointments. Problem is, no one communicated that with me. I also have physical therapy scheduled with the same clinic address shown on the appointment page. At my first appointment for PT at this clinic, the receptionist told me my PT was scheduled across the street at Twin Lakes. Of course, same nonsense here; my written appointment page clearly showed the Orthopedic Clinic for PT. Of course, now I was late and had to call them to reschedule. Seriously, do yourself a big favor and choose ANY other orthopedic clinic for your needs. This place turns and churns patients like a Texas cattle ranch. You are barely a number to them. They have no respect for your time.
