I had read some reviews that indicated this company was a good one so I chose them to replace 4 windows on my house. Scott came out to measure. The estimate was the best of three compared to the other very high ones. It took a long time to get the windows, but when they finally came, the install was fast, with a minimum of mess. HOWEVER, When the City Inspector came out, he noticed that one window did NOT have the required "Permit Label". He talked to the company on the phone right then and said he would trust them to get the label to us, and asked me if I trusted them. I said yes, and he approved the job and signed his approval of the permit. Well that was about 3 months ago (Sept 2025) and I am STILL WAITING! Despite several phone calls & emails to them, they only say they are waiting to get it from the manufacturer and will mail it when it comes. I say bull! Let's see some action. Someone has let the ball drop. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT TO PASS INSPECTION. I will update this review if I ever get the label. UPDATE: It's now late December and NO PERMIT LABEL! I received a call from their office asking me to call Scott. Why? What is there to talk about? Just get & send the damn label. DO IT! When I sell my property this coming year, I do not want to have a problem with a buyer's Home Inspection which will probably fail that window. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND Florida Impact Windows & Doors!!!. They made a mess on the outside of our house with concrete and sealant smeared all around the window and door frames. The owner of the company told us that the contract specifically states that they're not responsible for paint or finish damages and would offer no solutions other than a name of a painter that we could hire to fix the damage. My major complain with FIW and doors is the way they treat new customers. I received and estimate for two impact patio doors from FIW and doors. Since they do not provide any assistance with financing, Brittani the sales manager recommended two finance companies to get a loan. I looked at the cost of financing from both companies. Their interest was unacceptable to me. I sent and email to Brittani and asked for a discount instead. Her response was as an unprofessional written response of 5 dollars and when I was ready to sign the contract. I find her sarcastic response highly unprofessional and insulting with a potential new customer. read more

On two occasions, owner Scott Altman came out to address two concerns with our newly installed impact windows and doors. He went to extended length to insure the dead bolts latches on our hurricane door were fully opening and locking as they should. Previous to this , he came out to adjust the new screens for the new impact windows that were a problem to take out in order to wash the windows. His follow up is terrific, he understands issues a customers may have and is accountable each time. Contracted 12/8/21. Work done in Aug 22 due to supply chain (no concern there). They installed everything and after installation I pointed out concerns with screens, windows, and a sliding door. Project Manager Gino came and inspected. Validated scratches in glass were significant and needed to be replaced. Scratches impair visibility and are beyond 3" in and in multiples. Scratches visible from 10ft or more away from the window. Scratches caused from installation and not the manufacturer. Well beyond ASTM "industry" standards and I paid for industry standard glass as is stated in the contract. Said door was installed backwards and he would talk to Scott about how to fix. Multiple emails with no response and I sent a service request because two latches broke as they are hollow aluminum. Scott came and replaced latches and I asked him about the windows and doors. He was clueless and inspected the windows and doors. Agreed the windows were bad and said he would look into it. Said he did not know what to do about the door, but he would look into it as well. Over a year of emails and phone calls and this company shirks blame and avoids me. Scott is a coward and does not return calls or emails. Their "service" team shirks blame to the manufacturer and does not resolve customer concerns with the work Florida Impact Windows and Doors did. I am actively engaged with lawyers and am in process of fling to sue this company to complete work. Oh, and their BBB record? They ignore complaints here just like their customers. Ref BBB #20606415. Trying to work with their team to resolve my concerns and they say the manufacturer will not accept responsibility. No kidding! The scratches are from the installation process that your company did! There are obvious tool marks. Some are even circular. Scratches are deeply gouged and easily felt by hand. When asking about the door, they said there is nothing we can do about it because "we do not work with that company any longer". No resolution here and I have a useless door that I paid nearly 4 thousand dollars for! Read the negative reviews here and those are the honest ones. Look at the generic positive reviews for this company on Google, then look at the other reviews from those same people and they are all random reviews all over the US. This year we had Scott at Florida Impact Windows install PGT impact windows with low e coating through your entire house. The process takes a while so get started early. Florida impact was one of 5 quotes we got for the job. They beat the next closest price by thousands of dollars. Once we signed the contract Florida Impact Windows did everything. They even pulled the permits and scheduled all inspections. When the windows were installed, the installers were very nice, polite and neat. The cleaned up after themselves every day and kept us informed as to what was done and going to be done next. When the were done, I did a final walk through with the foremen and made sure everything was done. They did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend them read more

I signed my contract with Scott the owner at Florida Impact and Doors and chose the PGT products. Had to wait 5 months till they came to install the windows. After they completed the installation I did the final walk through and saw that every single window had 3 -4 gaps at the corners. The quality of the frame was horrible, it was like it was manufactured by kids learning. I was very disappointed that FIW&D didn't check the quality of the windows in the warehouse before they send out the installers. When I contacted Scott regarding this matter I told him that I'll pay the remaining balance of 10% when they will replace the frame and fix the problem. He told me to call the PGT company and complain about their product and started threatening me that if I don't pay the remaining balance right away he will call Broward County and put a lean on my house. That was no my job to call PGT, that's why I hired FIW&D as a contractor. They placed the order they have to resolve the issue. But unfortunately Scott didn't care. All he cared about just to get paid and do the S.... job. Hire a company that has a responsible owner. read more

I signed my contract in August of 2018 for installation of 4 impact sliding glass windows thinking that we made the best decision based on the initial meeting and information we received. We had quotes from 4 different companies and went with FIWD. The job wasn't even started until December of 2018 and now it is January of 2019 and the job still isn't done!! The communication between the client (me) and the status of the job was nonexistent until I started reaching out to them... and I still didn't get a call back until my 3rd or 4th attempt to get some answers. Of course, the company still wants their money on time but I cant have a job finished on time... go figure. Disappointment is an understatement at this point. please read carefully, residents of south florida!!! this is the same company that puts up plywood on their company windows for a category 4 hurricane. keep in mind that all the products should withstand up to a category 5 hurricane and over 200mph wind speed. "this place is a joke" said by one of the employee back in november. i was really considering on signing and purchasing 6 windows, a sliding glass door, and french door for my mother. but after scott (the owner) came out to my mothers house in boca raton and promised to give us better prices than competitors, then gives us a quote with an outrageous price which compared to the competitors is a four digit difference, i just had to share with the community this ridiculous company. florida impact windows and doors is honestly a joke just like they told me! do not spend your hard earned money here my fellow floridians! extremely poor rating! read more
