Upon receiving my final account statement, I noted charges for cleaning, painting, and items that constitute standard wear and tear. When I requested a detailed breakdown or invoices for these costs, my request was flat out denied. I mentioned that I had documented the lack of cleanliness of the home via email at the time of my move-in in 2024. However, they did not take that into consideration and stated that the charges were valid, and final. I believe my security deposit is being withheld unfairly and requested to speak to a supervisor, however, my attempts to escalate this matter to a supervisor have been refused. I submitted all required documentation regarding my service animal, including a valid doctor's letter, yet I continue to be charged pet fees. More concerning is the complete lack of response--emails and follow-ups have gone unanswered for months. This isn't a complicated situation. Under fair housing laws, assistance animals are not considered pets, and tenants should not be charged pet-related fees. I've made every effort to handle this properly and professionally, but the lack of communication has been extremely frustrating. At this point, I'm just asking for a response and for the issue to be handled in accordance with the law. Would appreciate someone from Invitation Homes actually reviewing this and responding.
