Florida Urology and Dr. Harrison came as a referral by my primary care doctor after more than 2 years of asking, begging, pleading, and generally playing the waiting game and being a pharmaceutical guinea pig with prescription after prescription trying to get anything to pass extremely painful kidney stones. Finally the referral came and I immediately contacted Florida Urology. It was NOT their fault it took so long. After making the appointment it took about 90 days to get my first visit. The stones were affecting my life. REALLY affecting my life. My personal responsibilities, time with my wife and kid, extracurricular activities, and home management responsibilities. Before I could make the date for the first appointment I was terminated for sheer lack of ability to perform my job and poor attendance. Three weeks after my insurance expired I was in the emergency room passing stones in shock and was responsible out of pocket for the $8347.87 charges for the ER visit. Still not their fault. That lands SQUARELY on my primary physician. Fast forward and finally I am fully insured and working with crippling kidney stone pain, constant nausea, inability to eat, and generally occasionally incapable of doing anything requiring a modicum of physical effort. Finally got the referral AGAIN and was able to make the appointment to get a surgical procedure for stone removal. Feet were dragged so long that lithotripsy was off the table and completely impossible. Surgery was scheduled and thankfully my '24 insurance deductible had been met so I would JUST be able to get this with no out of pocket expense. Hahahaha..... My PTO had been approved, schedules at work had been set, and I had my pre surgery EKG and physical. Then Florida Urology tells me the surgery must be rescheduled due in part to saline availability for the second week of January '25. That makes me FULLY responsible for ~$8800.00 out of pocket. It would have been free 2 weeks prior. It was still worth it because my condition is unpredictable and I am getting worse. My job performance is faltering and honestly - I am terrified of being terminated again and starting over. And over. Again. THE DAY BEFORE the second surgery date I get a voicemail (which I saved all of them) notifying me that the surgery has been canceled again. Would not be able to do it until February. Yep - another month away. I lost it!! Work has let me off. AGAIN. Everybody's schedules have been moved around. AGAIN. All of my open work tasks have been assigned to other employees. A driver was arranged for my discharge. Food prep was complete. Best of all my brother flew in from Tennessee to see how I was and make sure my surgery was a success. None of this happened and I was on the hook for a LOT of financial obligations. Thank you Florida Urology. I left a few angry voicemails. I could not wrap my mind around what they were doing to me. Tease me on and on and on and then cut the rope. I even suggested in an angry message to them that I had wasted hundreds of dollars there and was watching for a check in the mail for reimbursement. Well a certified letter DID show up from Dr. Harrison. Big silly goof doubled down in his letter stating that due to MY mistreatment of staff I was no longer welcome and our relationship was terminated. Good! What the hell makes you think I'd come back?? Florida Urology is a terrible place. God help you if you wind up with the same fate they sealed for me. This place is unprofessional, inconsiderate, and pretty damn dismal. read more

He sucks. His medical assistant sucks. The customer service sucks. If I could one star his ass and report him to the boards I would. They both had attitudes. I took my husband to the urologist for this appointment he had, being that they told him to follow up in a year. We went in with the intentions of having a visit and the medical assistant approached us with an attitude asking" why did we come in and for what". When we told her he had an appointment she was like " well that's a reason" as if she couldn't see that when we checked in. She left the room and didn't notify anyone we were in the office so I went to look for someone. The doctor (Schwartz) came in and asked why we came in being that it was every 3 years not 1 for the check up. Well that's not what he told us last time, and they should've said it when we made the appointment a year ago. When I told him I was switching urologist he became very hostile and said "no, no ,no he doesn't need a urologist so no need" so what was the point of him coming for the appointment if he doesn't need it to begin with. I asked for a refund and they denied my request. Which is probably why they charge the $80 before the appointment because they treat you like shit. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! save your money, and go somewhere they will actually attend you like a human being. read more

I've been to a lot of Doctor's offices in my 75 years and have never been treated so poorly. The staff was short and abrupt and had a major attitude. My husband is a patient and I'm a retired nurse. We were leaving and an elderly man was walking down the hallway towards us. He, obviously, was confused and this snippy girl said. " I told you to go back in the room or you can go home. " Where is the compassion? I was shocked the way she said it. Our experience wasn't that great either. This woman called us down the hall, never introduced herself and said " pull your pants down," not hello, no name, get up on the table, nothing. I could go on but you get the point!! I have been going to Florida Urology Physicians for a couple of years. I have been treated by Dr. Stephen Harrison for prostate cancer. I was previously being treated by Abramson Cancer Center before moving here from NJ. When I was being treated back in NJ, other than my co-pay I never paid anything out of pocket. As soon as I started being treated by Dr. Harrison, he completely changed y treatments & I started getting bills for the treatments. Back in the summer of 2023 he wanted me to have a CT Scan with contrast. He assured me that they got it covered under my insurance but a couple of months later I got a bill for $1,098. January 2024 when I went form my last visit he wanted to give me another injection of Eligard but I told him I did not want it if it was not covered by my insurance. He assured me that they had gotten it covered under my insurance but I just received a bill from them for $224. I have found another Doctor because I am tired of being lied to & treated like a 2nd class citizen. read more

I would never recommend this practice to anyone. Since Dr BVB left the practice has turned into a dumpster fire. Dr Schwartz is rude, arrogant, flippant, and has 0 bedside manor. He for sure should hang it up. He's a polar opposite from the doctor my family and I came to know at Florida Urology. I've found a new Uroligist and on my first appointment we discussed why I made the change, he asked me who had been my doctor prior, I told him Dr Schwartz. His reaction was startling, he confirmed what I already knew. One his own peers thought he had a poor attitude. So for those of you out there looking for a good urologist, Florida Urology is know longer the place to go. Sad day when BVB retired. read more
