I was picking up a sub when I noticed his sign on the door, ironically I WAS looking for a new DDS as I had recently moved to the area. Called his office to set an appt, found very kind staff and hours/times to match my schedule with no issues. This was I'd say at least 10+ years ago and I have to admit Russ has not only become my all time favorite Dentist, but I TRUST him and every suggestion that I've had to deal with over the past decade, which did include many root canals, crowns, and those dang cavities. I have never had insurance, as he knows, but he does NOT gouge the wallet of patients. His attitude is fantastic, yes a very kind person, regardless of what (tina? and ?jason?) say in comments from a decade ago. *(thank goodness he moved away from the trailer park known as warren) :) I have cleanings every 3 months from him and my teeth are looking great! Playing technician roulette, wondering who I would get and how rough would it be that day. It was a classic 'I hate the dentist' experience. Then, a friend of my mom's recommended Dr. Nowicki to her. She had her first visit and she told me right after that I would definitely want to go there too. So I decided to switch it up. Such a great decision. I can actually say I enjoy visiting the dentist now, because Dr. Nowicki and his team are not only great at what they do, but they are great people as well. From day one, I've felt very welcomed by Dr. Nowicki's office and similarly to Olive Garden, when you're there you feel like family (you really do). Every technician I've had has been very friendly and provided a great cleaning along with great care advice and answers to my questions. Not only that, but the team will take the time to help you out. During a regular cleaning visit, it was discovered I needed a minor filling. Instead of making me schedule something out, Dr. Nowicki went out of his way to squeeze in the minor filling right then and there for me. Lastly, I'd just like to elaborate on how kind doctor and his team are. I've had great conversations and I truly have received helpful care advice that was not previously provided by my old office or taken the time to be given. So it's the little things like that that let me know I've found my permanent dentist office while I live in the metro Detroit area. I did not have a bad smile when I came to him but after communicating the few things I didn't like about my current smile, he knew exactly what to do. My bridge came out and a front tooth he did, and charged me $1700, for (which I paid after I had to convince him that he could do it) broke again. Fast forward to today, I needed a crown over the work he had me go to the endodontist for (he used to do them hisself) and then his wife talked to me as if I would present a paying problem. Saying some people don't pay. And telling me the price of $1700 in a way that made me feel like she was insinuating I didn't have it. Huh?! How insulting! What does that have to do with me? I've NEVER not paid him up front. I actually pay out of pocket mostly because I work for myself. And he knows this and had never had a problem with it. Nevertheless, I thought he was a pretty good dentist and I bragged about him constantly over the years because people loved my teeth but now they are all breaking for some reason and he doesn't want to see me anymore. He was very caring, professional, and most of all - honest (which is a hard quality to find in a dentist). His staff, all wonderful, and Robin his receptionist has left. He sold out to a conglomerate. The new owner doubled Dr. Sucaet's prices, and her agenda seems to be to get rich quick. She closed this office, and transferred patients to another office. Rinse, Brush, Floss Would not recommend going to the new office. I wish Gary a very happy and well deserved retirement.
