I stopped in to ask about having repairs made to two chairs that had previously been reupholstered and refinished elsewhere. While the upholstery was beautiful the foam cushion used had no support so when one of the chairs was used the foam ripped as it was pushed through the unsupported seat hole. Thus, both need supports added. When inquiring about repairs, I was asked only one question regarding the seat, if it simply popped off, to which I responded no that there were decorative nail-heads before being told I needed to see an upholsterer. When I inquired as to why, I was informed that the upholstery had to be removed to fix the chair, a statement I believe is incorrect. The structure can be accessed from under the seat to add support. When I explained the structure of the chair, I was then requested to bring one of the two chairs in to allow them to look at it. I explained that would have to borrow an SUV and have help to bring the chair and requested that I be able to send pictures for a preliminary decision as to whether or not they thought they could fix it before bringing the chair in to the store. The store representative told me with some exasperation to just throw a chair in my car, and I didn't need help for a simple chair. I was shocked to be told that the chair could fit in my car and that I could manage to move and lift it on my own after clearly informing the store representative that I could not. In shock, I stuttered that I couldn't, and paraphrasing was told to not be dramatic and ridiculous of course I could put a dining room chair in my car by myself. I, therefore, explained it wasn't a dining room chair and I had never said it was and reiterated that the chair wouldn't fit in my car. When he started to argue the point again, I was forced to further explain that I am disabled and unable to lift a heavy chair, even a dining room chair had it been one, because of my shoulder. He then gave me instructions for taking pictures and gave me the email address to send them. Given an hour or so to reflect upon my experience, I have decided that his handling of the situation did not reflect the type of customer service I expect and likely foreshadowed future issues so I will be looking for somewhere else or just buying new chairs (the easy solution). I would have preferred to be asked questions to confirm his assumptions instead of having incorrect information spouted authoritatively at me such as I could manhandle the chair on my own which placed me in an uncomfortable position of having to explain. read more

They have quite the selection of furniture, lamps and other 20th century pieces to suit your antique fancy. They also specialize in the "4 Rs," repair, refurbish, restore and refinish. Thus, if you have your grandmother's prized hutch and it's in poor condition, take it to Flo's and they will take a stab at putting some life back into it. They also completely strip furniture and will work with you if you would like to sell items through consignment. Home decorating services are also an option if you feel you need some extra help. On this particular day, I was informed that all of their furniture was on sale for 40% off the listed price. And to peak your interest, they have quite a few dining table chairs displayed out in front. Some were priced around $40 each and some were about $60. This inside seemed a bit crammed and oddly enough (well not really) it smelled like someone's attic. Overall though, it would be a great place for passionate antique people to peruse. Not "fine antiques," rather once wonderful antique furniture pieces completely refinished in mahogany stain-- erasing the natural, old beauty & charm of the original piece. If you want mahogany furniture, I suppose you could shop here, but why pay so much for an antique piece that no longer looks antique. Strange concept this shop offers-- if you love & appreciate the historic & nostalgic aspect of antiques, this store owner doesn't share your sentiment. The seemingly unfriendly man sitting in the open office created a strange feel to the place; he did not speak to us even though we attempted to speak w/ him. (The young woman at the front counter was; however, very friendly & helpful-- she earned the extra star.) NO cigarette smell as others previously posted but if you're allergic to cats, this place isn't for you. (Two formerly feral cats live inside while twenty-something others live outside in the back.) If you are in the market for wood stains, cleaners, oils, wood protectors, etc. this shop has a large supply. The business has a connecting door to an interesting rug store. And on the other side is a fascinating modern furniture store that offers newly refinished & reupholstered mid-century couches & chairs @ VERY high prices. read more

As soon as we walked in, the pungent cigarette smell hit us. It really smelled like someone was actively smoking in there. With my allergies, I couldn't go any further. It did seem like they had a large collection, but I couldn't get past the smell. read more

I brought in a coffee table that I've had since the early 1970s. It was in a sad state of affairs with a cracked center and the surface had become scratched and blemished. These excellent people were professional and patient right from the start. They knew the table was a sentimental piece and kept me looped in on the process of refinishing and staining. When I saw the finished product, it surpassed my expectations. A month later and it is still a source of joy to look at in our living room. The round table that I once played around as a toddler is once again a center of play and activities for my daughter. I'm grateful that I found this business. Thank you. read more

Not the friendliest or most helpful bunch. I left because I felt completely unwanted in that place. It was weird. No thanks.

My son had found an old couch next to the dumpster. It was scratched up, chunks of wood were missing and the fabric was worn through in most places. Regardless, it had "good bones". When the guy came to pick it up, he took one look and the brand and year it was made! The people at Flo's Attic have restored it to it's original beauty. When we went to drop off the new fabric (I wanted something specific), we were given a tour of their workrooms. Each person has a specialty and their knowledge and pride in their work is evident. We are so pleased with the results that we are having them repair/restore all of our antiques. read more

I walked in ready to shop, but immediately turned around and left due to the OVERWHELMING smell of cigarettes. Seriously? It's a furniture shop, not a nightclub! I saw a review from 2013 that complained about the smoking as well, which means all the furniture has had a year or more to soak up the smell of smoke. No thanks -- I'll go somewhere where the store actually gives a crap about the customer's comfort. read more

Took an antique bedroom set to have stripped and they lost or misplaced a drawer to a nightstand. I was called a liar, threatened to have police called and called a very derogatory name that starts with a B. Every employee was hostile, threatening and unprofessional. Funny how 5 men said they remembered when the furniture was brought in when I helped the one man unload it from my car after he said "there are usually more of us here but not today". Horrible, horrible experience and I am still shaking from the assault. They have been reported to the Better Business Bureau. Will be interesting to see if they respond to the BBB...me thinks they are just old cowards and will just flip off the complaint. Tish M. read more
