When the chairs were returned, Sunshine carried them in during a rainstorm with NO COVERING. The fabric on both chairs had a number of spots and on one chair the fabric was wrinkled as they obviously did not steam out the wrinkles before upholstering it. Since this fabric was pure silk, I cannot remove the spots. Terrible, terrible job and I am out the expensive fabric and the $350.00 I paid Sunshine. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

" This instantly caught my eye and I decided to give them a call. They explained to me that they were too busy doing commercial projects right now to work on a single piece of furniture for residential. I was trying to speak with the girl on the phone and get more information on if they just had one department that worked specifically on furniture restoration for residential or if they had several people that worked in that area....mainly because what I'm wanting done is somewhat different. I did not want to wait around for two or three weeks, only to find out that there was no one that could do exactly what I was wanting done. I thought that she might have someone call me back and speak to me about my project. However, that was not the case at all. She again, made it quite clear that they did not have time to work on anything I had at this moment. And she also made it clear that I seemed to be annoying her. I don't typically write poor reviews on Yelp. I understand that sometimes people are having bad days. And I always try to keep that in the back of my mind. Marty and his staff were a just an absolute pleasure to deal with on this project. They visited with books of fabric samples and were patient while I made my decision. They loaded these big pieces into their truck and we were off to the races. Marty kept me apprised of the progress (including the wait for the fabric I picked!) the entire time. The final product was delivered today and I couldn't possibly be happier with the result. As a new designer to the Orlando area, I searched for a local upholstery company to accommodate my…read moremany needs. I found a Puerto Rican gem, in Pena's upholstery and after our very brief encounter they decided to shut down the business and move north. I was stuck. I resumed my search and found Tropical. Established in 1950 and still with the original owner, I decided to give them a try. I mean, they must be good to stay in business for 66 years, right? Wrong! I took four very simple mid century dining chairs to them. The chairs were just slightly more complicated than something I could do myself, and besides I wanted/needed them to be professionally done and perfect. After reviewing photos and dimensions of the chairs, the owner told me I needed 4 yards of fabric (1 per chair). I ordered the fabric and delivered the chairs to Tropical within a week. Less than a week later, I received a call that the chairs were ready for pick-up. Such a quick turn around was amazing (I thought). When I arrived to pick up the chairs, I thought I was going to cry. The edges were rippled (not smooth, the corners were not neat and the fabric on one of the chairs was seamed together where it should NOT have been seamed together. The owner told me there wasn't quite enough fabric. That's a horrible answer! I could go on, but I'm so ready to forget this experience and move on with my search. I f yu need something done professionally, DO NOT go to Tropical Decorators and Upholstery.
