After a recent procedure, I could immediately tell something was off with my bite -- one side was hitting first and causing noticeable pressure and discomfort. I also started experiencing significant symptoms including headaches and what felt like migraine-type pain, which was very unusual for me. I brought this up and even went back for two follow-up visits, but my concerns were essentially brushed off each time. At my last appointment, I was told to just wait two weeks and that it would "fix itself," which was very frustrating given how uncomfortable I was. I ended up seeking a second opinion, where another dentist found that both the new filling and crown were extremely high. He spent about 30 minutes carefully adjusting my bite and explained that there was no way it would have corrected on its own. Almost immediately after the adjustment, my symptoms -- including the migraine-like headaches -- significantly improved and even resolved, which confirmed that something was wrong all along. It was upsetting to feel dismissed multiple times when something was clearly off. Being heard matters, especially when it comes to dental work that affects your bite, comfort, and overall health. I wish more time and care had been taken to listen and properly evaluate the issue instead of dismissing it.

Dentist initially told me I'd need to see their endodontist who only comes in part time, but after doing my "pulpectomy to get me out of pain", the dentist told me that he "had basically done all the work already, and he might as well finish it up for me and save me money and time"... however even after 2 courses of antibiotics I was still hurting up until we finally put the crown on in April, almost 4 months later at this point. I even mentioned to the dentist that, previously, I had had a root canal done here and they had missed a canal, and I was worried this was the case as I was still in pain. Dentist assured me he got everything, put the crown on, and sent me on my way. Tooth continued to hurt. I called in May and they told me to give it more time. Finally went to see a different dentist and of June, who immediately sent me to an endodontist, as I was STILL in pain. Endodontist has confirmed that the dentist missed a canal, and the infection is now so bad that we've had to change antibiotics already just trying to get it under control. Endodontist informed me that static x rays do not show the entire picture, which is all this dentist office uses, and is likely part of how this canal got missed. So now, after 7 months of pain, I'm having to pay to have a second root canal done on this same tooth.... So not only did he not save me money or time, I'm instead having to pay double, the infection is possibly down into my bone, and the pain has been absolutely unreal. Please don't trust this business with anything more than cleanings. Edit: it looks like I will likely lose my tooth even after this second root canal, as the infection was down to the bone and had been left to fester for too long. So now after 7 months of pain and paying for multiple root canals on the same tooth, I'll be without a molar.

The next is when you gps to their location it will say they are closed which makes you nervous that they are closed. Their website online will also say they are closed as well. So when you drive there you are wondering if you are gonna end up at a closed dentists. they are closed Fridays so if you have a Saturday appointment and need to reschedule you must do it 2 days in advance. Cross your fingers nothing comes up Friday. When I was getting my teeth cleaned the process was un organized. They would say they needed to get the x ray machine then 10 mins later a new person shows up with no xray. They kept leaving me hanging. The whole thing just seems messy.

When I asked their answer was that it is just routine practice, and if I go against their routine practice( not let them do what they want) I should go some place else; however, this unnecessary radiation exposure to my children and Bluffdale Dental routine practice should had been explained to us before it was done to my children and not after the fact. I also asked how often children gets panoramic x-ray the doctor said about every 5 years ( assistant said every 3 to 5 years) then I asked if they had requested dental records to see last time it was done since my children are new to them( their first visit) they said NO! this is so unacceptable! what if the other dentist got this done recently; Bluffdale dental did not care enough to know this information to protect my children against unnecessary radiation exposure which can be harmful to their health. Not a sincere apology or any effort to understand the client's point of view. I am devastated. As far as the visit went my children were very impressed with how well the staff treated them.

When I showed up to my appointment I was met by Dr. Proctor who was apparently a few years out of dental school. I had to laugh and I explained to him I asked for the seasoned dentist upfront due to my fear of all things dentistry and wished us both luck. He was AWESOME! His personality is hilarious. He would joke when I needed a joke. Made me feel comfortable from minute one. We are many appointments, fillings and crowns in and he is still my all time favorite dentist and I've had many in my nearly sixty years. My permanent crown today went on so perfectly I was in and out in no time . Thank you Taylor for assisting ,you were great too. I'm so happy I just had to leave a review! CASH PAYING / NO INSURANCE - PLENTY OF BETTER CHOICES ELSEWHERE!…read more We WERE patients of this practice the past couple of years and had good service for the times we went (2X/year). However, if you do not have insurance (unemployed, self-employed) you will significantly save by taking your business elsewhere. TMFD provides NO discount to cash paying customers. You will pay the FULL amount of the rate they "bill" insurance companies, even though TMFD collects only a portion from insurance companies due to the contracted rates for said services. Example: I was interested in just a cleaning. TMFD wanted to charge me $112 for the cleaning. I had a cleaning earlier this year (Jan '24) and the rate they billed insurance for just the cleaning was $97. What insurance actually paid them was $45! Yet now, TMFD wants to charge me $112. I called around and found more sympathetic dentists to my current situation who not only had a less expensive rate to begin with, but offered a discount to cash paying customers (because they know they're going to collect more from a cash paying customer they offer a 10-25% discount than they would billing insurance). Once we have insurance again, no problem. Just amazed that TMFD wasn't willing to work with us and would so easily loose two loyal customers! BTW, their in-house plan wasn't that great of an option, once you run the numbers.
