I would not do business with these people again. Flournoy and Calhoun was good for the first year and a half. There were no issues. The only time I called them was because of the dishwasher and it was replaced in a timely manner. Earlier this year, late June into early July my home was broken into. F&C puts in their contract that they are not responsible for break in damages. Little did I know my renters insurance would not cover it either because it is supposed to be the property owners responsibility. That was a $1000 lesson learned. It also took multiple phone calls to finally get them to send their contractor out to fix the door. It ended up being the last week of September before it got fixed. Almost 3 full months. Upon move out they made me steam clean the carpets even though they weren't steam cleaned for me upon move in and it was annotated on the move-in inventory that they weren't. Shontia Calhoun herself said I wouldn't be responsible, but I was. They also took money from my security deposit for a broken closet door knob that was also annotated by F&C on the move-in inventory. They acknowledged it when I called but it's been 3 weeks and they have made no attempt to correct anything. read more

I moved out of a rented home which by the way was dirty when I moved in, the lawn was not mowed and the staff is very rude and unfriendly. I put in a 30 day notice via email and spoke to the Office and I received a letter stating I was late on my rent, well, I had already moved out! I called again to advise of this. So I check my credit, they have a charge on my credit report for late fee and nonpayment of rent. I called to clear this up and was advised that she could not do anything about it after it was sent to a Collections Agency. It never should have reached that point! Wonderful company. I have seen first hand how some people can be very rude and cruel to the employees at this company but they still keep a smile on their face. I've worked in similar businesses where people don't understand that just because these employees are the voice and face of the company doesn't mean they are in control of when someone can fix something or not! Example: restaraunts. Servers get yelled at when the COOK doesn't do something right or takes too long to cook their food. Some people need to THINK! This company genuinely cares about their tenants and when it is out of their hands, they get the worst of it. But still, they smile. read more

This company has been amazing, and I have seen first hand some tenants who do not understand what the employees go through trying to make us happy! You get what you pay for is an understatement. I'm grateful for the inexpensive rent but they are awful when it comes to maintenance repairs. Sometimes you'll have to come out of pocket for the things you want done. I have a 2 bed 1 bah and when my bathroom was down they didn't repair it immediately nor make it a priority. I have a leaky sink in both my kitchen and bathroom and still, it takes 2-3 days for it to be repaired. So please, rent/buy with caution. read more

This place is all after money, they do not care for a single tenant or human soul I was looking at a house to rent, have excellent credit, wanted a house in a decent neighborhood to start a new job moving from out of state. They had a listing of a house in south columbus, and offered it as the nicest house they had available.. I expressed concerns of a local telling me to stay in the north side of town, they looked at me with three heads and said who told you that? I was approved and moved in with the usual security and first month rent for a year lease. When moved in the lawn wasn't mowed and the interior of the house was FILTHY Cleaned the whole house, didn't say anything about the filth A new months go by crackheads move in next door, blast music day and night. Can't get any rest or sleep during the night, my girlfriend who works nights couldn't sleep during the day. Called the police 8 times, kept happening Called flournou and Calhoun, they said they would call me back about the issue, never got a call back, straight up ignored. Dealt with it till we got broken into, had my work trailer had the locks ripped off and had my possessions dragged out over my car hood, and were caught during robbing us at 4am Called flornoy and Calhoun and raised hell, house is not livable, unsafe area and they could care less. Had their "manager" got on the phone and said they will let me move out for2 months rent and keep the security deposit. All this is against my doing, feel unsafe living there and they want to charge me thousands of dollars for luring is into this terrible place.. They do not have any sympathy for anybody and are only after money. If you have any problems they could care less, you'll be ignored and after that you'll get charged and ripped off Unbelievable way to do business.. This is truely the worst rental company I have ever dealt with in my life. I am former military so I have been stationed several different places and I have never experienced anything like this in my life, this are some of the most rude people I have ever dealt with. They informed me that issues that came up within the initial walk through would be corrected which never were, My house was broken into and the door was damaged I was told that I had to pay for the damages which is not correct. This company does not care about its customers. We have had an ongoing pest problem that pest services I'll not cure. We asked to be removed from the property and the refused to let us leave with out paying 2 months rent up front and lose our 1200 deposit to get out of the contract. Roaches and ants come out of the shower. There are spiders and roaches every time we come home. They should be embarrassed for not supporting us and allowing us to leave free of cost and give our deposit back. Beware. Once you sign, you are stuck ...no matter how bad the problem is. They claimed that they could live in these conditions when we asked them to be placed in our shoes with a two year old that has Asthma. read more

this place is a joke, and i feel bad for the owner. To have this kind of bad reputation on a business is just horrible. I was treated horribly and discriminated for having a black boyfriend who would be on the lease. They told me "I just dont feel comfortable approving you" after putting down 40 for the application and telling them i was willing to pay whatever security deposit i had to, they still denied me with no reasoning and i am fully convinced it was because my boyfriend is black and im white. how can you "just not feel comfortable" approving someone ? FLOURNOY AND CALHOUN ARE ONE OF THE WORST RENTAL PROPERTIES YOU COULD EVER DO BUSINESS WITH. They told me that the business i worked for was fake , and that i was lying about where i worked and who i worked for , even after providing a months worth of check stubs. I knew i had a funny feeling when i handed over my money and realized that both Trish (the manager) and Bethany (the application pusher) were looking at my boyfriend with a worried look on their face. Not to mention , whilst on the phone with a sorry excuse for a "manager" , their are other employees in the background listening and chiming in on my our conversation , there were at least 3 employees on the phone yelling at me ! Not to mention , these people called my SECRETARY , and began to have an attitude with him which gradually turned into yelling at him and eventually , hung up right in his face ! I have rented two properties from them and have had consistent issues with maintenance, pests, and just overall unpleasantness with the office staff. They are rude and do not care about their tenants. Upon move-in, the rental spaces are disgusting (my kitchen drain was clogged with hair weave and batteries); the stairway outside is rotting and about to collapse; the trash was piled up before I got there and I was charged a cleanup fee when neighbors couldn't stand the smell; and were slow to send a repairman when my apartment was burglarized and I had a gaping hole in my front window. They also never take care of lawn service, which resulted in a nest of copperheads in my yard. I only rented from them because I was a student when I moved here, but they are absolutely deplorable and I highly recommend looking somewhere else to live. read more

Don't trust them to manage your property. I called to check on one of the properties they managed for me, and they thought I was looking for one and tried to steer me away from my own property! They didn't advertise my properties on their website, They also allowed the copper pipes to be stolen, or at least they said they were stolen and charged me to replace them, they didn't even file a police report so I could be reimbursed by my insurance. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!! I was warned about them, but the apartment I liked, they owned. They gave me the run around, as far as, what was required to rent. Once I got the documents, turned them in, got APPROVED, then they still denied me! This was AFTER I signed the promissory note from them to take the property off the market! I felt DISCRIMINATED against! I am a business owner and have never felt like someone who was looked down on, until Flournoy. They made it seems as if they were giving this apartment away for free! As if, they are used to a certain type of tenant. A tenant, that will let you take advantage of them. One who may not be aware of certain responsibilities that rental management companies are required to fulfill. Everytime I came into the office, they got calls from tenants as far as repairs being needed. Other people who'd rented from them even told me they slacked on making repairs. I had all of the red flags waving NOT rent from them. I am blessed that I did not get that apartment and Im happy to know that I am NOT desparate and there are other companies, with better reputations, I can happily rent from. I complained before about the way this realtor deals with people. The realtor sent my messages asking what my problem was and I told them. The realtor told me to contact the rental manager whose name is Brandi, I called this morning and was brushed off by the person answering the phone. I called again a couple of hours later and spoke to Brandi who said the place that I was so rudely rejected from was rented and had been since the day I finally got to see it (I was getting put off for three days from the realtor because they had a problem with the keys and then rented the house on line to someone on the third day. Of course the person has yet to move in and it is now six weeks later. The realtor closed the site that they were talking to me on line, so I have to do it this way. But when I return in August to Columbus I will seek the advise of an attorney on bad business practices. If you are a senior or a disabled vet stay away from this realtor. read more

The rental department of this long time realty company is pathetic. As a renter I was treated rudely by the office staff, billed for heating/air issues when technicians tried to correct problem, given another renter"s lease agreement when asked for a copy of my own, and multiple other inefficiencies to numerous to mention. They have taken good care of our home and have ensured that any problems encountered were taken care of quickly.
