Lily's were her favourite flower and red meant good luck in chinese! Yay great combination. Geraldine the owner smacked the bunch together for me so quick, so professionally and so effortlessly you can tell she was a pro. I am so thankful for her accomodating me, not wanting a pre-prepared bunch either. And yes, some were only half open but these suckers lasted a few weeks. Great little florist in New Farm. When I arrived to view the flowers before they were sent I was very disappointed that the style was not appropriate for the recipient and not what I had imagined at all. I guess this was due to semantics and communication, expectations and assumptions. I was impressed that the girls in this florist (including Phoebe) didn't try to convince me that this bunch was in fact appropriate. Instead, after some apologies for crossed-wires about expectations they sprung into action to create a new bunch very much different from the first. They did well to stay patient and attentive despite me being a very contrary customer. I guess it pays dividends to bow to customers wants and needs because - well - here I am now singing their praises. I'm sure many florists would have railroaded me into accepting the first bunch or tried to alter it slightly. I was very pleased they wiped the slate clean and started again.

As I needed two bunches of flowers for my uncle's funeral (one for the casket and one for my aunt), I wanted something very beautiful. I called up and Kristy was more than happy to help me. Not having a clue about flowers, she was able to guide me expertly as I haphazardly try to describe what I wanted. When I went to pick up the flowers the next day, they were all I could hope for and more. The sheath for the casket was a stunning arrangement of white flowers - lillies and roses mostly - and were beautiful. The bunch for my much loved aunt was stunning and beautiful as well. The florist stayed with the 'white' theme that my late uncle wanted but the bunch had a lovely pop of colour - just enough sprinkled through the bouquet. The prices were very reasonable and I was surprised at the size of the sheath and bouquet for what I paid - they were both huge! I cannot recommend Flowers in the Field highly enough ... and yes, they are my new florist.

Walking past I was always impressed by this stores flower displays, they always seem to have something 10x more exotic than the sad droopy things I used to buy at Coles. Being in a central location, they are run off their feet some of the time but the staff still manage to have some time for a laugh or a nice word with the customers. Having been the recipient of a Flowers By Jane delivery, I have always been chuffed with how long the blooms manage to last. I also love their range of bouquets (favourites being the long stemmed roses and their Australian Natives varieties) Next special occasion I am definitely coming back here.

There were bunches of fresh lilies sitting out the front as well as plenty of delicately arranged bouquets. While the prices were not cheap, I think the bouquets and arrangements were around the $50 mark and above, they were stunning. While I was not looking to pick up anything that day, I will definitely remember Pollen Florist for its stunning arrangements, friendly staff, and convenient location.
