DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I am extremely disappointed. We order my mom flowers from a local florist, thinking this would be better quality, and we were wrong. To start, the flowers were delivered on the WRONG day & when I called I was told "oh I see that, our bad." Additionally, chose to upgrade to a large and more full bouquet which turned out to not be the case when my mom received these flowers. When I mentioned this on the phone call the only suggestion I received was to set the flowers back outside for pick up and they would be remade... first off, this is extremely unprofessional and I would never suggest someone tell the recipient of a gift to put it outside for pick up because it was wrong. There was no apology or empathy and when I explained how we spent a decent amount on this, the person who answered the call made it a point to say well $10 were delivery cost... I started buying from Flowers by Van Brunt early last year when I started going to beach in Long Branch. Have purchased fresh flower arrangements from them that were beautiful and priced right. Last Christmas I purchased poinsettias from them for friends in that area and they were gorgeous and lasted a long time. I was surprised to see the weak reviews as Frank is always helpful and pleasant. He did tell me I could not get an arrangement I wanted as shown on the website. When I showed him the picture, He said he did not control that site as is is a national FTD site but he could not get certain flowers as shown on the site. Suppliers struggled to get their usual flowers because of COVID. The colors he chose were just as nice so I was fine. I will continue to purchase flowers here when I am in the area. read more

I was specific as to what I didn't want and also what I was dreaming of for them... The woman I spoke with was pleasant, professional, and understanding. The flower arrangement completely wowed the happy couple and everyone at the table. Flowers arrived at a perfect time and were absolutely beautiful! Frank was very rude and nasty, telling me they were closing in an hour... 12:00 noon on a Saturday...and all he could do was a basket or a plant for the following Monday. I want to start by saying I feel terrible for the business owner. This business will fail if they continue to treat the customers the way they do. For three days now I had to seriously think about my experience. I walked in on a Friday around 4pm, I said I would like to spend around $40-50 what do you recommend, you are the expert. The man that worked there looked at me with disgust. He then had an offensive tone with me. I thought to myself he must be having a bad day and brushed it off... He then went to to grab the flowers in a ill-mannered way. As he's picking the flowers I noticed one looked like it was dead. So I said "that flower looks a little dead" he then responded "go to a different store and get out" instead of picking a different flower or maybe giving me some knowledge about the flower he told me to leave and went to the back of the store. The two ladies behind the counter both acted as if this was natural for him to kick a customer out for not liking a flower. They both did not offer to help they just ignored me and I felt like they where terrified of this disgusting man. I felt bad for them. Never in my life did I walk into any type of store to give them business and they rejected me. I'm not anyone special but I'm spending $50 for 5 minutes of this guys time and he has the audacity to kick me out because I thought a flower looked dead. Before I wrote this I read the previous reviews and I noticed I'm not the first person to deal with this man. I'm not the first person to have a bad experience with this guy. If you are the owner, you have a lot of work to do. You must treat customers like people and not like sh*t. You will not succeed if you continue with your ways. Called to ask about wedding flowers and a wedding arch. Was RUDELY told "no florist around here does that" when I explained that we were given this number as a RECOMMENDATION from our venue for a wedding arch. Was rudely told not one florist would do that especially since "someone would have to stay there to break it down." We will NOT be using this florist for our big day. I will be telling our wedding venue to remove this crass business from their list of "recommendations." Having ordered from this shop for over 10 years for all the holidays and special events, they've always been very quick and easy to deal with. Product is good quality as well. One time had a small issue with the billing and they were very quick to respond and fixed the issue and, also, exceedingly polite despite the fact that I erroneously gave them wrong info. I live in a state 4+ hours away from my nearest family, so I tend to go with Van Brunt online ordering for Mother's Day, birthdays, etc. The flowers always look great (or so the ladies in my family tell me), and they're always there when they're supposed to be. There's always pretty wide selection too, and pricing is reasonable. After 6-8 or so orders, there was only one time when there was a problem: I ordered chocolates and a teddy bear to be delivered with a bouquet. When the flowers arrived without the other stuff, I called, they caught the mix-up, and resolved it immediately, sending the chocolates and bear out then and there. Zero fuss. I plan to continue giving my business to Van Brunt flowers for the foreseeable future. read more

Awful Customer Service this morning. Tried to order a $150 -$200 arrangement for a funeral service. Looked on Van Brunt Flowers website, then called: Referenced website, but was abruptly corrected... "that isn't our website, we don't have a website, so nothing on that site can be done". Total attitude! I was suppose to know that. Then I was asked what I was looking to do. I replied that I was looking to do a loose white and purple arrangement. "That's not happening either". Nasty And rude tone. "All I can do is a mixed color arrangement". Well then why did you ask what I was looking to do? Perhaps you Could have politely explained your limited supply. I payed 100$ for a cheap looking flower arrangement! I got to dinner where I sent out the flowers and I can't explain the feeling I got when I saw it. I felt so embarrased because it looked so cheap and as if I made it at home. When I called the flower shop to ask if maybe there has been a mistake they were extremely disrespectful!! There are so many options of florists in the world... take my advice and DO NOT use this one. I called last week to order sympathy flowers. The person who answered the phone asked me to hold, but disconnected me. I called back and he proceeded to take my order with a VERY negative attitude. It was clear he did not want my business... I literally felt like I was annoying him by placing an order. We finally get through the order and I gave my credit card but felt that he didn't want my business so I ultimately cancelled and went to another company that was MORE than happy to help me. My husband and his family had been going to Van Brunts for years for everything from proms to funerals and even another wedding a couple years ago, so when it came to picking our wedding flowers, there was no question that we would go with them. I should have checked more reviews beforehand and followed my gut. During the two appointments I had with Frank (one with my mother in law and husband and one just on my own with him), I was treated as an inconvenience and as if my business was not wanted. Frank measured my head for a bridal flower crown only to have measured the wrong part of my head, so I had him do it again. On the day of my wedding, the flower crown was outrageously big (big as in style; not a bridal flower crown-it looked like something for a little girl) and it was still too small for my head. The sad part is, I had a plan B because I had a feeling it wouldn't be what I envisioned seeing as Frank didn't ask any questions about what I was wanting. My bridal bouquet, while lovely, had flowers falling out of it by the time we were doing our exit from the ceremony. These issues were nicely brought to Frank's attention after the fact with no offers of a refund or making things right. My husband's family has gone to you for years and we hand over hundreds of dollars for a few basic bouquets and bouts and you can't offer any sort of resolution? Many of these issues could have been avoided if a) Frank actually took the time to ask us about our vision, show us some photos/samples of our wedding flowers and b) if he put quality/care into customer service and his product in general. From my point of view, it seems he exploited the fact that he has a long-standing business relationship with my in-laws and assumes their loyalty will blind them to poor treatment/quality. Even they agree the quality of Van Brunt's work is just "okay" for the price. While Frank and his team produced lovely flowers, there were some clear issues that cannot be overlooked. I will not be returning my business to Van Brunt's if only for the fact that he made me uncomfortable and unable to communicate my preferences/needs. read more

Disappointing. Ordered online, an arrangement in a baby block vase. They did not have the cute vase, although they were advertised on a hospital website! Still charged the same price, without any alternative to spruce up the arrangement for the bith of a baby. It was blah and I was very disappointed, especially for the price. read more

If I could give zero stars I would I ordered online as I live in the UK and paid for next day delivery. When the delivery hadnt arrived I called the toll free number and spoke to a lady on the phone who informed me that the order had been cancelled without telling me, she said it was because what I ordered online wasnt available at the store. She and especially the other lady in the background were then rude to me saying I should have called rather than using the online service. Why have an online service if you cant fulfill an order. After what felt like an hour talking to the equivalent of a "rude" wall I decided to hang up as I was getting nowhere. The only saving grace was that apparently I havent been charged I can safely say that after using this store for the last year while living locally I will never be using it again. So let me start out by saying that I would give this business negative stars after my interaction with them today. I was calling around a few flower shops to see if I could get some flowers delivered to a hospital today. Yes, I was calling late in the day and knew that when I called but wanted to see if there was anything that can be done since they are litterally a stones throw away from Monmouth Medical Center. So I call and the woman tells me so that tomorrow at 9am would the earlies that they could do. I said thank you and called a few other stores with the same answer. So I ca back to only now be told it wouldn't be until 11/12pm time frame as they are busy in the morning. Now remember I had just called 10 minutes ago and was told 9am so I tell this to the woman on the phone and she asks me to hold on.....then this "Male Manager" gets on the phone only to talk down to me and tell me that they are busy and how when he could get to it would be later as he's busy. A completely rude, lack of professionalism and terrible phone presence so as he placed me on hold I hung up. Never will I give this place my business and I will be sure to let anyone know who asks about your place to take their business else where. What a terrible experience. Lastly, I was calling from a Military Unit from San Diego trying to get some floweres delivered to one of our Marines whose wife just had surgery. TERRIBLE! read more

I ordered flowers for a relatives funeral.i asked for some blues and purples and yellow. They said they would make a nice arrangement. When I saw what they sent I was embarrassed to no end. It was yellow mums with cheap maroon tinted carnations! It looked hideous! When you are trying to comfort someone you should be able to count on the florist to supply something at least tasteful! I've order from this company in the past and was satisfied; however, my most recent experience with them was not so pleasant. I contacted VanBrunt and told them I was on there website. I provided the name of the floral arrangement i wanted to order. She knew what I wanted and said it would delivered that day. When I saw the arrangement of flowers I immediately thought they had the wrong arrangement. A few of the flowers were wilted and it was more greenery than flowers. I was very disappointed especially since I could have went to ShopRite for a better arrangement. It gets better....I called to inform them and was told that they did me a favor by delivering them with such short notice and they don't do arrangements for 29.99 (which was advertised online) and I got exactly what I ordered. Anytime I needed flowers for any event,birthday or any special reason they were always there for me or my family and the flowers were beautiful. Recently, I experienced a very unexpected death in my family. I lost my sister. Those who have lost someone close, know exactly what this feels like.The funeral home ordered the necessary family flowers, however, like most families, there are always more flowers needed. I personally went into the store and being not in a frame of mind to order properly was assisted by Cindy and Frank and between the both of them, I walked out feeling like my sister was the most important person in the world and that they were going to take care of her. Basically, I had to tell them some things about her, and they took it from there. The flowers delivered were elegant,beautiful and even more than ever had my sister written all over them. I used Van Brunt Flowers for my wedding on June 11th. To tell you that the end results were incredible is an understatement. I worked with Cindy relentlessly to try and pull my vision together. The problem was that I had a hard time putting it from my head to paper. She worked with me countless times (and patiently I might add) to make tweak and changes where I wanted them. The day of I had a huge smile on my face when the bouquets arrived as my bridal bouquet was everything I dreamed off! Our venue flowers were no less spectacular. I had given the team all different containers of different shapes and sizes and gave them free reign to decorate the tables as they saw fit with the containers. It came out fantastic.
