Went in prepared to drop $430 bucks on a tool box for the bed of my pickup. Asked to have it taken down off of the top shelf. Got shuffled around and told to wait. Asked again after 15 minutes. Was told the only guy with a lift license was on his way. 20 minutes later I walked into a different isle and saw the guy with the lift license and three other employees lounging on one of the lifts, having a chat. Very rude employees that don't do their job. I was looking for a new microwave and I asked for an employee for help and I got no response. The second time I asked it was a different employee but they said "I don't care, find it yourself. I don't work here" when clearly she was wearing the Home Depot's work clothes. Unbelievable that the West Long Branch, N.J. HomeDepot tells its customers to order online and pick it up curbside. It is unbelievable what occurs after you place an order and pay for it in full. First Home Depot makes sure they get every penny from your bank which would be fine if they ever had in stock what their website claims is in stock. Tonight I was shorted two tomato cages that were prepaid for and they tell me they will get around to sending me a refund in two or three days! So Home Depot earns interest on my money for up to three days not to mention I have to follow up that I actually get the refund and the refund is accurate! IF I don't get the refund in three days I get to continue the horror of proving we are owed the money immediately! My husband, who went to pick up my order, was told they could not print out proof of the refund we are owed! Supposedly proof was being emailed. No refund proof was emailed. Instead Home Depot sent me a receipt saying 8 tomato cages were picked up with no mention of the 2 prepaid ones they did not have in stock. Is lack of proof fair to the consumer on top of the fact the business uses your money for three days? Next is the fact they show on their website that they are open until 10 pm for curbside service BUT when they text you at 7:56 pm that your order is ready for pickup the last line states curbside service ended at 6 pm which means you must now go in and deal with the single employee available at the customer service desk! Here is another clue for management ... be accurate on your website and state curbside hours where you offer it in the ordering process! I am quite sure the IT department is capable of linking accurate times! My advice is clear and simple ... do NOT use the Home Depot preordering service until they learn to be fair about refunds and accurate about the time curbside services are available to their customer. My hard earned money is NOT their money if they don't give me a product in exchange and being forced to go to customer service for a pickup when promised curbside service is just really bad customer service! read more

The slowest of the slows. From pickup or assistance. Do not even attempt to come after 5p, the help has deserted the grounds. Takes forever to return something as well. Bought a $500 grill and was told it would be a week before they could assemble it because they said they had none assembled. so bought it and figured I'd assemble it myself. Walked out of the store and saw a few of exact same one assembled! Now the process began began On how to return and exchange etc. Get back in return line and wait. Told it probably could be done but need to bring the one from the car back in, find a guy to help partially disassemble the side trays, the guy was second guessing me on how to do it. I was getting pretty hungry so decided this extra hour or so would not work for me. Granted I'd been there for 90+minutes already. Gave up and walked out. The guy helping meant well, but just too slow for me. Lowe's is much faster all around. read more

I have been a home depot credit card holder since 2012 and Home Depot has been my I and my husband's go-to store for quite some time. I have never had any issues with employees in store, and many if not all were always very helpful and accommodating. Each project I take on in my home has 100% of the time been done with home depot. My floors were done by Home Depot with your products, and now in the middle of a kitchen remodel, have even considered your kitchen specialist and installers, as they measured this Friday 4/5/19. In June of 2017 I lost my home depot credit card and called to let them know that is was misplaced. When I was on the phone the woman said that it was not a big deal and that she would be sending out a new card and I could still access and handle all payments online. I thought nothing of it at that point and never really checked my account after since I was set up on automatic withdrawal for the payments. I received my new card and continued to use it. The next month I received an alert stating that my credit score had dropped nearly 100 points in one month. I pulled my credit report and noticed that I had two home depot accounts open. I immediately called Home Depot because I thought the other one was fraudulent. To my surprise the other account was my original that was never merged with my new one, and it was also marked as "charge off", but only 30 days late. There was only $76.00 that was owed. The other thing that baffled me was I couldn't even access this account online either, so I would have never known that it was still "open". The representative I had on the phone transferred me to the right department and the rep I spoke to explained that it as their fault and that now a letter had to be written from them to the credit bureaus to have this removed. I remember having to go through a process on my end as and file paperwork directly with them(Trans Union) as well. In September of 2017 I received a letter from Trans Union stating that information was updated due to my dispute. So we can fast forward to now. I am currently trying to secure a Home Equity Line of Credit. What is holding me up is a "charge off" that is still on my account. After calling today and speaking with another Rep, he also agreed that it was Home Depot's fault originally and that he was going to rectify this, but may take up to a month to reflect on my actual credit report. He was very helpful and even said he would mail me something in the meantime to give the bank stating that it will be taken off and is being looked into. I am writing this out of frustration. I have spent countless hours on the phone with different people both in 2017 and now trying to fix this problem. It should have been taken care of the first time around. It is now halting my home project and now prolonging my time without a kitchen; which you can imagine that in itself is a hectic thing. I reached out to customer service again via email, since I did not hear anything form them since my first phone call. Still until this day have not received a follow up call, or update or the letter they said they would give me in 5-7 days to send to the back for which i am trying to secure the loan.The only thing I received was a customer service survey. I'm currently in the process of remodeling a powder room in my house. I ordered a toilet online for store pick up at the West Long branch Home Depot location. It's took about a week to get there and I got an email saying it was available. I went down to the store to go pick it up and gave my information to the lady in the online pick up department. She was nice to me but it seemed that she was having a hard time doing her job. Possibly the stock boys aren't quick and are preoccupied with other jobs. She told me it would be a few minutes. I decided to browse through the lighting department for a few minutes and head back there. On my way around the aisle, an extremely friendly employee asked me if I needed help finding something. I told him I was just waiting for an item in the pick up department. I went back to the pick up area. Ended up waiting there for about another 10 minutes and honestly I was starting to get annoyed. I decided I was going to wait one more minute and then ask how long it would be. Before that minute could pass the same gentlemen that offered me help in the aisle showed up. Right away he said "why is this man waiting so long, I just saw him in the aisle ten minutes ago". I looked at his name on his apron. "Bob" Assistant Manager. He was instructing the other employees (stock guys and the receptionist) that the wait was unacceptable but he was very nice to them too. He has exceptional managerial skills. I wasn't that mad but he was mad for me. He was passionate about running the store efficiently. He even offered me bottled water and shook my hand. This review is to say that Bob should not be the assistant manager. That is far below his ability. He needs to be a GM. Good stores are built on people like Bob. read more

Awesome shopping experience. My wife and I came here because we were shopping for new new refrigerator & stove for our new home. The moment we walked in the sales associate was extremely helpful & answered all of our questions. She helped us choose the right fridge and stove that we needed. An hour later we reached the service desk to pay and One of the sales associates asked if we would like some cold water and gave us 2 bottles of water. I thought that that was extremely nice of him to do. I have never experienced this level of customer service at any Home depot....ever. One of the multiple HD's I have been to, this one seems to be the least stocked. The usual flow of people in these large chains can be seen in the aisles gazing at shelves looking for what's on their lists. I am only looking for a ceiling fan:a Hunter, Home Decorations, or a Harborbreeze. As stated before there were hardly any fans on the shelf so I walked out in a huff. I drove over as soon as possible and saw the one still in the parking lot. I went to the desk and told them what I am here for and the ladies working said that the flatbed outside is not working. Prior to the opening of the lowes in Eatontown this was my only option. Not anymore! This particular store is small in comparison to other depot stores, the garden section is operable but the selection is weak and the stock is shallow due to the lack of space. The isles are narrow and stuff is always laying in the isles, you would think this would be an insurance nightmare! The staff is helpful, but they are definitely not cross trained. Don't ask the plumbing guy an electrical question, I saw smoke! As in many big box stores they are very friendly and want to help. I think my future home needs will be better served by the blue guys down the road. read more

Just visited the West Long Branch Home Depot on a Friday evening and everyone that helped us was wonderful. We had a nice gentlemen help us find the perfect screws for our project and then John in the paint department searched through all of the paint swatches and chased me down once he found it after I had given up to find the perfect blue paint. Good customer service is hard to find these days but always noticed when I do see it and I very much appreciate it! Way to go Home Depot! read more

Terrible customer service!!! I came in to do an exchange. I'm not a frequent shopper, so I was unaware that the returns/exchange area was different from the checkout area. I asked a man working in the self-checkout if he could do an exchange. He says in an annoyed voice "go to the returns section". When he saw I didn't know where that was, he just pointed. When I got there, no one was there, and it was blocked off by big boxes and wood. There was no way to enter. I went to the customer service desk where I asked a woman if she could do the exchange. She says "go to the returns section". I simply asked how to get there since it was blocked off. She said with the nastiest attitude "Um...go around?" I told her to watch her attitude. These workers here need some lessons on customer service. I didn't think any of my requests were that outrageous. Put a smile on your face and do your job!! read more

Most of the staff is quite helpful and more friendly and knowledgeable than any other location I've been to - and it's dozens all over NY and NJ. The only reason they lose 2 stars is because one of the managers ( I think he's a manager, wears a tie), Joe, refused to even try to help me out with checking out through the bid room. Lied to me and said it's not available after 6 pm which is totally untrue. Another associate who was not a manager helped me do it successfully without blinking and eye. Lazy manager = -2 stars. I bought a Toro lawnmower here for about $350. An electric starter, "Guaranteed to Start" it says in huge letters on the box. After a month it just stops working. I used to work as a landscaper, I know how to troubleshoot a lawnmower. My neighbor, who is a mechanic by profession, also tried to start it. No dice. Load it up on to my truck and bring it back - not exactly the most convenient and easy task - and after about an hour and a half I finally get a manager to address the situation. It's before the 90 days return policy and it says "Guaranteed to Start" on the box, so here it is and I want a refund please. He says "sorry we can't take it back. It has fuel in it." I say ok "So pump it out and a lucky employee gets a free gallon of gas to take home." So he says "that's illegal we can't take it back if has fuel in it." So I say "ok I'm going to buy a siphon tube and a gas can and I'll empty it myself" his reply is "no you can't do that on our property." I'm kind of getting a feeling that he really doesn't want to address the real issue, which is that he sold me a defective expensive product that I'm returning. So I ask him to get the general manager please because I'm not leaving until that happens, he then miraculously becomes Mr. Problem Solver and somehow figures out a work thru that allows him to accept a gallon of gas o to the store property and then hits me with "yeah well we aren't going to offer a refund - Best we can do is a store credit gift card for the price of the mower, which of course I'm too beaten down at this point to argue about. I'm sure that manager is long gone by now. read more

They have everything, the staff is helpful, and prices are decent. The return line can be long like at any Home Depot. They have a public bathroom which I think is the only one in that whole shopping center so that's a help. Even when I'm in the shopping center and go to Home Depot just to use bathroom, I always end buying things there. read more

Following Hurricane Sandy, everyone here on the Jersey Shore is anxious to get their lives back on track, and their homes in order. I can tell you for sure that the best way to prevent that from happening is to use Home Depot for you post-storm needs. The staff at this location are completely inept. They entered a large order for appliances with installation incorrectly. Not only were the appliances delivered late, but when the delivery came, they had no record that installation was already paid for and even when they confirmed that the appliances should be installed, they refused. They would not even drop the appliances into the appropriate rooms so I could try to install myself. They have contributed to making an already difficult situation that much more difficult. Most places in the area that weren't affected by Sandy have been doing all they can to ensure a smooth transaction for Sandy victims. Home Depot is not one of these businesses. Do yourself a favor and go to Loews. read more
