Fluor Field in downtown Greenville is home to the Greenville Drive; the single A minor league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. The ballpark is over 20 years old, but looks very modern with open concourses and plenty of concession stands. There's even a Green Monster in left field to replicate Fenway Park in Boston. Unlike other ballparks, there is no seating beyond the outfield for fans to catch home run balls. Not sure if all minor league ballparks are doing this, but the netting is extended the full length of the outfield, severely limited chances for fans to get any foul balls. Prices for some of the concessions are highly reasonable compared to other ballparks, but the food I tried really wasn't of good quality. The game I had tickets to got rained out, but it was fairly easy to get a replacement ticket for the doubleheader the following day. They had a special Marvel superheroes day for the game attended against the Asheville Tourists, so players wore Captain America jerseys and costumed characters were in the stands to take pictures and participate in promotions. They also gave away a special X-Men comic book. The team store was quite overpriced without any budget merchandise options, but it's a trend I've been seeing at quite a few minor league ballparks. Overall, it was a fun day out at the ballpark, so if you like baseball, I'd recommend a Greenville Drive game at Fluor Field. read more

We had green monster tickets and that was great. The staff helping up there were awesome. I'd highly recommend a game up there. The food was a little weak. The options were pretty limited. The organization from order to pick up was poor and they had no carrying options from trays to a lid for the souvenir cup. Most of the food was average at best, but the tenders stood out as nice and large and crispy. The hotdog was average, the waffle fries soggy, and onion rings a bit soft. Very cool stadium! And there's a lot to do around the stadium for baseball, food, drink, etc. You cannot walk all the way around the field. read more

Absolutely beautiful ball field. I visited Greenville for a mimosa festival that was held there and it was so much fun. The stadium had plenty of open seats, bathrooms were clean and food I did purchase was delish. There isn't a bad seat in the house if attending a baseball game. read more

Very nice ball field. Compared to McCormick Field in Asheville, it's a modern marvel! We also found the concessions staff friendly and the fellow fans spirited. It was worth it to drive there on the 4th of July for fireworks and to see the Asheville Tourists win this particular game, but it was sweltering, and getting out of Greenville was unnecessarily frustrating. Next time we'll go as early or late in the season as possible and take a trolley to the stadium. read more

If you're looking for something to do in Greenville, I recommend a Greenville Drive baseball game at Fluor Field. Tickets are relatively cheap and so is parking. In fact, if you park in an overflow lot a few blocks away, parking is free with a trolley that takes you to and from the stadium. This is the ONLY sports venue I've been to with free parking, so that was huge for me. As far as the stadium goes, it doesn't seem like there are any bad seats. Tons of food and beer options are offered, although I was sad that the ballpark doesn't have Dippin Dots- they do offer ice cream, of course. The stadium even offers many vegetarian food options, and while I didn't eat here, I appreciate the variety. If you bring kids, there's a family area and a grassy hill that you can sit on with a blanket and enjoy the game. Only clear or very small bags are allowed, so plan accordingly- otherwise, you'll have to ride the trolley back to your car to put your bag away. read more

I've been here for a private party on the second floor and it was also wonderful with friendly staff, a beautiful and clean room, and a great view of the baseball field. I've also been during the craft beer festival and with thousands of people walking around getting samples, it still flows smoothly and the staff are helpful. we enjoyed a great baseball game sitting atop the Green Monster in Left Field. My son even had the outfielder throw a ball up to him. For $16 we bought the Family Pack of 4 large drinks, 4 hotdogs and a tub of popcorn. Not a bad deal. This is an excellent, family fun option for the Memorial Day holiday and any other game. We also loved the new seats on top of the Green Monster. What a different view of the game. BEWARE OF THE BAG POLICY. This is a great place to catch a baseball game and their team right now is actually really good. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience at the front gate. My sister and I both had a small clutch bag with a crossbody strap expecting to pass code because there was literally the exact same bag pictured on the "acceptable bags" sign. We were carrying our phones, credit card, some hand sanitizer, and chapstick - that's how small our bags were. We were stopped at the front by a particular guard and were told our bags didn't meet the requirements (what??) so we had to walk all the way back to our car in like 95 degree heat to put our bags up. As we re-entered, there were several people getting checked by a different guard with the same bags and they were accepted for entry. Once we got into the stadium, there were MULTIPLE people walking around with bags like ours and even some larger than ours. I just really feel like if they are going to enforce a policy, they should consistently do so. Either the guard we encountered was misinformed or he was just having a very bad day. read more

The only downside was that we were sitting in the sunlight and it WAS kind of hot until the sun dropped low enough to put us into the shade. The downside of summer, I guess. We really enjoyed the game Sat night here. Great seats behind the visitor dugout (didn't matter as most were Greenville Drive fans anyway) with our friends who drove up from Columbia also. They report that the stadium is much nicer than the Gamecock's. It was really nice to see 5 young boys sitting in the row in front of us having a blast at the game and the adults that came with them enjoying​ the game from behind the home plate section keeping a watchful eye on them. It was a bit difficult to get a hold of someone on the phone to inquire about tickets for a game, but other than that the field is really nice. It was a hot Sunday afternoon when we arrived for a game, and while waiting for 2 friends to meet us we asked if there were any restrooms we could use; unfortunately there weren't any. We ended up getting lawn tickets which were nice because we were able to grab some seats that were empty, and half way into the game we went and got some hot dogs and beer that were both decently priced. Keep in mind that you do have to get a wristband for alcoholic beverages prior to purchasing. Nice attraction in Downtown Greenville for famly and friends! read more

Definitely a great ballpark. It is designed very well with plenty of seating. It was so nice, I did not realize that the Drive were only a single A minor league team. Their stadium would rival some other AA and AAA teams'. There are two main entrances that you can enter from, and free parking at the County Square. It is a quick 8-10 minute walk and there were trams that were going back and forth from what I could see. The biggest surprise to me? Beer prices. I was expecting to pay $8-10 for a beer like most ballparks, but was pleasantly surprised to get a 20 oz. cup for $5. Be aware, you will need to get a wristband at one of the booths near the two entrances in order to drink. They do not check IDs at the food stands. I paid $8 at the gate for a general admission ticket. There is a small grass hill that you can sit on near left field, and this was more than ample for that price. Bottom Line: Would I go back? Definitely! You can't beat a night (or afternoon) watching baseball and drinking beer for these prices! read more

Beautiful family friendly ballpark. I saw some helpful ushers volunteering to take pictures for families. It was very cool to see all the military folks being honored. EAT BEFORE YOU COME. Their food service just plain sucks. I ordered cheeseburgers for myself and my friend and the cheese wasn't even melted. Another friend in our group ordered a cheeseburger and had to wait 20 minutes. Same result. Half cooked burger. Yet they have the audacity to charge major league prices for their crappy food. Maybe the Chick Fil A stand is better but 7th Inning Stretch needs to go. I would go to another game here, but I would definitely plan on eating at one of the local establishments outside the ballpark and actually get my money's worth. read more

My family has been Drive season ticket holders since 2008, and going to Fluor Field for Drive games never gets old. The stadium is beautiful and I love how proud they are to be a Red Sox affiliate. There's a decent beer selection, and while the food is still ballpark food (as in, none of it is AMAZING) there's a lot of options to choose from. Ticket prices are cheap and no, they do not charge "major league prices" for their food and beverage. Anyone who has been to a major league stadium would know that. (I've paid $7 or more for a crappy Miller Lite at major league stadiums vs. $5 for a decent Yuengling at Fluor; hot dogs at Fluor are almost half the price of most major league baseball stadiums, etc.) Even when the team isn't doing well, the fans are really into it. They've got some over-the-top entertainment but it's all in good fun and makes Drive games great 'different' outings for adults as well as wonderful family-friendly activities. The only issue I have - and the reason I'm rating Fluor four stars instead of five - is that as the years have passed these games (especially opening and weekend games, of course) have become more and more popular, and especially last season and this season it seems that they are either understaffed or that their staff don't know how to handle the crowds. It has resulted in once-impeccable bathrooms having several clogged/dirty toilets and insane lines at the ID check stations and every single food/beverage counter. Again, this is a more recent development, so I just hope that they'll fix the issue sooner rather than later. Also, the last time I was there the water fountains weren't working. I'm hoping that's just a fluke and they aren't being jerks and not turning them on so people will buy more bottled water. read more

It's a nice park, built with similar dimensions to the parent club in Boston. There are some nice features, such as the shaded area on the first base side near right field, but during a day game good luck finding any relief from the SC summer sun. The food and drink is fine, if not a tad expensive for a rookie league A ball team. They have seats available on the Green Monster but I haven't been able to speak with anyone in their sales department that can explain how to buy a ticket to sit there. On my last visit to the park I wasn't allowed to even walk up there to take a picture before the game had started. Be careful buying tickets online, if you accidentally buy tickets for the wrong date you will not be offered a refund or any type of satisfaction from the sales department. I called them minutes after my errant purchase and was told they would not do anything to help me. In short: the park is better for a night game, eat beforehand, and don't expect good customer service from the sales department. Go Sox! read more

I love coming to Greenville Drive games because there are hot dogs, beer, and good weather. Generally, there are good people too, which creates an environment where I have enough patience to sit through an entire baseball game. The Drive is a family friendly environment good for all ages to enjoy a beautiful night in downtown Greenville, and the team is pretty good too! The stadium is absolutely beautiful, and it also has relatively clean public bathrooms. I can't think of a better way to spend a summer evening in downtown Greenville. Unlike a lot of minor league teams, you'll know almost immediately that the Drive is affiliated with the Boston Red Sox. Not only are there Sox logos scattered in various places throughout the park but if you enter from the third base side the first thing you'll see when you come up the steps is Greenville's smaller version of the Green Monster, complete with manual scoreboard. Really cool. As a matter of fact, all the field dimensions of FF are identical to that of Fenway. As other reviews have said, the food is overpriced but what ballpark food isn't any more? My $5 brat and sauerkraut were actually very good and on par with others I've had at major league parks. I'll always love the Big Smokey dogs at Cincinnati Reds games, tho. A big tub of popcorn and a soda in a souvenir cup were each $3.50. Overall, it was a great place to see a game and fairly easy on the budget. The park itself is gorgeous as is the downtown area it sits in. It's a nice, family atmosphere, perfect for taking the wife and kids to on a warm, summer evening. Parking and the shuttle are free from the County Square lot which is nice, too. I'll admit, it was a little strange going to see my new home team play my old home team but it did make it a little more interesting for our family! read more

The Drive stadium is the crown jewel of the recently(ish) renovated West End. It's fast becoming Greenville's "big-city" claim-to-fame in my opinion. As others have said, it was modeled after Fenway and has a feel-good ambience. Typical baseball fare as far as food is concerned, with BBQ, boiled peanuts, Subway (!), hot dogs, pizza, etc etc. Overpriced as is expected for a ball field. Great for the whole family, but if you're like me and don't have a family juuuust yet, go for a Thursday evening game - when they have $1 PBRs. A huge sect of the 20-something year olds in the Greenville population frequent the stadium on Thursday nights, so you'll probably be in for a night of socializing as well as cheering on the home team. Seriously one of my favorite activities to do in the great city of Greenville. Make it one of yours too. read more

The DRIVE Stadium. This is how Fluor Field, home to the BoSox Single-A affiliate, is often referred. The stadium borders the West end of downtown, where you can find a handful of restaurants very close by for a pregame beer. Pick up a ticket for any seat in the stadium, the sight lines are great from everywhere. On Thursdays, enjoy from the 500 club bar in right field - where you can find $1 beers. Don't bother with the food at the stadium - although you will find a Chik-fil a inside. For stress-free free parking, park in the lot at 229 University Ridge and take the free shuttle that starts running 45min before first pitch. Otherwise, take your chances around the stadium where you will find free on-street parking and $5 pay lots. read more

A very nice park! As nice as Carolina Stadium. To top it off, the game my daughter & I attended turned out to be military appreciation day at the field. It started with a parade (Patriot Guard, ROTC units, veterans, etc) in downtown Greenville that stretched to the ball field. As a former (and still very proud) Marine, I appreciated the gesture. There were also recruiters from all 4 branches set up with stations, and a couple Brigadier Generals included in the opening ceremonies. I thought they did a good job honoring us veterans and current military forces. A big thank you for that. The food prices are, I agree, a little ridiculous, but I'm finding that at most sporting events these days (unfortunate as it is)... I can't wait to return! I wish I had one of those apartments with the balconies that overlooks center-field! read more

I hate this stadium. I go there with a group on occasion. You can't bring your purse in unless it's clear plastic and THEY HAVE NO LOCKERS. The man screamed at me for not knowing this and told me I should have known and take it back to my car. Nasty human. Then I couldn't buy a beer despite being ancient because I had to to take my purse to the car I hiked 4 miles to take my purse then was thirsty, hot miserable and missed half the game. The people that work there are surly, grumpy, unhelpful and horrible . Miserable place. read more

We love to visit towns for minor league baseball, and spend several weekends doing so. Overall, it's a nice stadium. However, communication and signage is definitely lacking. A-we were told seats were sold out and only general admission was offered at the gate, so we purchased those. However, seats did not fill up through the evening. We were not informed about the bag policy until we reached security-not through a sign when entering or at the ticket stand. I've never had any issues with my purse at ANY minor or major league stadium in the US (literally!) When we were inside, due to our general admission tickets, we headed to the outfield bar. We were able to get drinks and start a tab, and then we're kicked out as the area was apparently reserved. But there was nothing to notify us of that. We found other seats, then later went to the concession stands for a drink. We then had to wait for the employees to finish arguing with each other before we could order. Greenville is a nice city, but it's now crossed off or lost for baseball and we won't return. read more
