This place makes keys! And their prices are some of the best I've seen for all your painting and hardware needs.

I decided to come straight to Big Apple Hardware Store after work on a Wednesday afternoon due to the hours stating that they were open until 7pm. I got off at 4pm and decided to take the 25 min trip to the store via bus and walked about 10 mins to get to the location. Upon walking up to the store I see an employee getting ready to close the gate. There was still another employee inside. I asked him if I could get a key made, but he told me no. I said well what time do you close because the Yelp hours say 7pm. He said that they close at 4pm. Is that so? I looked at him in bewilderment because it was now a quarter to 5pm. I cursed, released a long sigh, and marched off because not only did I waste time trying to get a key made, but there were no updated hours reflected on the website. To say that I was vexed is an understatement. I decided to to come back the following day on a Thursday and much to my surprise they were open. As I waited on line to get a key made. The employee rudely told me to go to the other side to get the key made. Quite frankly I'm not a fan of this place and the management has since change from when I used to come here. Not only are they rude but the way they conduct business is an abomination. If I didn't need a key made I wouldn't waste my breath or time here.

Since buying a heavy-duty drain cleaner didn't make sense for a one-time issue, I visited the Home Depot Tool Rental Department to rent one. Michael, who works in the rental department, was incredibly proactive and helpful from the start. When I wasn't sure which cable length to get, he calculated that living on the sixth floor meant a 75-foot cable might fall short, recommending the 100-foot option instead to ensure it reached the main basement drain. He walked me through the entire rental process step-by-step: 1. Showed me the machine in person and highlighted the safety gloves included with the unit. 2. Explained the required documentation (a driver's license and credit card). 3. Laid out the rental tiers and clear pricing options--roughly $100 for 4 hours or $150 for 24 hours on the 100-foot machine. Michael turned what could have been a confusing task into a seamless, pleasant experience. His expertise and stellar customer service make him a massive asset to the store!

I didn't know the term either - I had to Google it. I asked 4 employees where their burner liners were located - nobody knew what they were. In the end, they didn't have them anyway. I also noted that they didn't have as many plants as usual. Perhaps its late in the season but still they use to have a lot, and I mean a lot, more. On the plus side, they did have an employee at self checkout to provide any needed assistance. Overall, this Home Depot is not bad, and if you need something, by all means, pay them a visit.
