There are a few small soaking pools fed by the spring where people can relax. The place is very rustic though. Facilities are minimal and the pools are simple, so don't expect a resort-style experience. It feels more like a local hidden spot than a developed attraction. Worth checking out if you're curious about natural hot springs and don't mind rough conditions. Just come with the right expectations.

You can see the 8 freeway from the entrance to the hot spring. Very easy access with a large dirt parking lot. A dirt, gravel trail leads to the entrance. Free admission. It's small. There were many people when we arrived. The hot spring is surrounded in a grove of palm trees. There is a large fountain/shower. It looks like it could be a cozy place. I would worry about how sanitary it may or may not be.

The fitness center has 5 treadmills, 2 elliptical machines and 4-5 exercise bikes, lots of weights, benches and machines. The treadmills, elliptical and bikes work smooth-not state-of-the-art with video classes but give a good workout. I have used most of the machines and they work pretty good. There are some that work better than others. I've seen people use the machines and they seem to do the job. During the winter season, the fitness instructor Irene puts on aerobic type, yoga, and other classes 5 days a week. They gym, along with the exercises in the pool and golf provide a good overall workout. I do recommend the Rio Bend Fitness Center. It's a great addition to the other activities they have and a fun way to stay in shape!

Up here in San Diego there are tons of tactical stores so I was very surprised to hear about their great customer service. So I got to BT and it was two businesses in one location. I couldn't believe how big the store was plus they have a shooting range. I came in there to pick up an extra magazine so I didn't spend much time in there. I didn't know where the magazines were so I asked and the customer service guy was very very friendly. He spoke to me about some hollow points ammo for home defense and he was very knowledgeable. Also he was dressed to impress which is crazy rare where I'm from. I just bought my magazine for my .40 cal but also thought about what the guy was telling me . When I come back to El Centro I will definitely shop here again without a doubt. I wish there were tactical stores like BT in San Diego and I my even shoot at their range next time.

You can bring your ATV's or dune buggy and spend hours on their off road course. Punta Estrella is the best place to camp in the San Felipe area. It's far away from town that you can see a billion stars but it's close enough to go get ice and supplies as needed.
