Wow! I now know exactly what I'll be giving my dad each year for his bday, a charter with Captain Mike. I go fishing for stripers every summer with the same captain we've used for yrs. unfortunately he was booked the weekend we needed to go. So I looked at a number of reviews and found this boat. First let's start off that he charges more than pretty much everybody else! The boat that we normally go on charges 600 for a half day... Many of the other boats charge 650 to 700... He charges 750! So of course he and some of the other captains say that anyone under 700 is desperate and you won't catch fish...Total BS! Anyway talked him down to 725 which still wasn't good. Tells us to show up at 5:30... We're there at 5:30... The first mate is there before us... Captain shows up a little before six! I Ask the first mate where is the captain, he said he's late... I said that's odd for a captain to be late... He said he's always late! So we were supposed to get a five hour trip, we left at six stop fishing at 10:30! He shorted us a half hour and we were catching a ton of fish at that time. So we paid more for less time! He also made a couple of surly comments throughout the day that my friends and I did not like. I would never book this captain again! We caught only two stripers and some smaller Seabass and some Porgies. Overall not a horrible day of fishing but from the best!
