We've had Orkin for about five years (if you consider three years prior, then canceling them and…read morethen giving them a second chance and having them for the last year and a half) For some reason, they lack customer service and customer service tells you things that just don't happen. By way of example, we have been waiting for a mouse bait trap since the middle of March (when they performed our early spring treatment. As of June 21st, we still have not received the bait trap and we keep asking every time they come and the Technician tells us they will deliver one or bring it with them on the next visit and this does not happen. We have had two visits since and they keep saying it's coming. We have found in our experience that the Technicians notes are not communicated to the office nor to other Technicians and each time Orkin comes, we have a different Technician who knows nothing about the prior visit or anything about a bait trap being delivered (nor does the office stays). I believe Orkin has high turnover of employees and some employees call in sick on the weekend (especially during summer) so the person who did our service in March does not share the information with the main office so it is not communicated to another tech who comes to our home. The second issue pertains to auto pay. Orkin automatically bills out credit card monthly for service (sometimes with not even having perform the service due to rain) and we've been paying this way for since we signed up. For some reason we sometimes get notices in the mail that we have a balance due and when we call Orkin they say to ignore it and it is an error. This has happened twice. Their office is grossly disfunctional, and their systems or staff are questionable. You probably wonder ...why are we still using them? My answer is that they are slightly less then some competitors and in the beginning, they were really good, however things started to change, I'm telling people this because no matter what they tell you during their sales call, get it in writing and you need to stay on them to ensure they do what your contract states. Do not take their verbal word on anything, and do follow up on any requests ( you may be calling them frequently).

My daughter was hearing some critters scurrying around in the ceiling of her upstairs rooms. She…read moresays it was mostly in the morning. I was trying to help her find an exterminator to help. I decided to look on Yelp, because they have helped me find contractors before. I chose Pest Medics because they responded within a hour. They also (responding through text) told me their range of pricing and could come out the next day. I'm assuming Javan is the owner of the company. Him and another worker came within their window of time. They were very cordial to us as they entered. They listened to my daughter explain the issues she was having. They walked through the house (inside and out) inspecting where the critters could be coming in and out of. They finally found one of the entry points near the roof. They explained about the one way gate like thing they put up to let (we think it was squirrels) out, but could not get back in. My daughter was impressed that there was not cruelty to the animals. She just wanted them out of her house. All in all, it took the a total of 45 minutes to complete the job. Not mentioning the price, they charged the top of the range they gave her. There was no paperwork to show what was done. Just a receipt for the job (on her phone) and a 30 day verbal guarantee for the work they had done. This is were the stars started coming off!! About a week had passed and my daughter was still hearing squirrels in the roof. She called Javan and company to come back out because the problem was still there. They made a appointment to come back two days later with a no show and no call. My daughter call them within a half hour left within that window of time they were suppose to have come out. Javan telling her he got tied up with another job and could they reschedule. He knew he was tied up before that phone call. It is to easy to text or call someone. That is so rude, to waste someone's time....looking for you to come. They did reschedule though. The same thing happened again, only this time he called her when there was only a half hour left with in his scheduled window, saying he needed to reschedule. At this point we felt he had her money, so she goes on the back burner. After a few harsh words, he followed up and showed up soon after. They reinspected her property, sealed in some additional entery points. Later, came back to get their cage and seal in the entry points in the roof. Seems like the problem is solved. I don't like giving bad reviews, but they wasted her time twice. They didn't do a bad job, just be warned if you decided to go with Pest Medics.

They provide a time window the day prior to coming to your home or business. Mine was provided to an absent minded member of my building's management who didn't think it was necessary to provide me the courtesy of the information. Unlike PSCo Philly, Evans Pest Control is very systematic, and thorough. I had Ryan, again, performing my exterminating services. Ryan is a consummate professional and takes pride in his work. On the date of his follow up, Ryan from Evans Pest Control had multiple units to tend to in my building, run by an inept Property Manager, and careless management from PSCo Philly and MM Partners, where roach infestation, and bed bugs are problematic, but ignored, unless tenants are vigilant. If only they were as caring and took pride in their work like the head of maintenance. Make sure, if you live in a residential building, that you're provided a Bed Bug Plan to review, prior to signing a Lease, and informed if prior infestations within the last 120, as the City of Philadelphia provides in Section 9-4802. PSCo Philly elects to operate without following laws, and breaches their contractual obligations often. If your landlord has not provide you a bed bug plan and/or notice of an infestation, you can terminate your lease- see the remedies under section 9-4802. Evans is phenomenal, and highly recommended.

When my agent called them to ask about it the rep said read the "fine print" and that you have to paint over it. Isn't this something a half decent company would tell their customers upfront before starting the work? Also, how hard is it to cover the floor before spraying? It's common sense. Seems very lazy to me and corner cutting without regard for customer satisfaction. Would never use again or refer.

I was a total skeptic; I mean would it work? Everything else we have used didn't and while the service isn't free, it's cheaper than a lawn service although citronella candles cost even less, but also don't work. I tell you the service works, and I want my friends to see this so they hire them, and I can have drinks in your yards and not feel like I'm dinner for mosquitoes.
