The people in the office are very nice and helpful through the process of choosing your professionals for your wedding day, making payments, pre-wedding planning, post-wedding music selections... they were great on everything! We hired 2 wedding photgraphers and a videographer. They arrived at the location for pre-wedding pictures on time (actually they were early). They gave us very good direction during the photo/video session. In the house we were getting ready they even moved stuff around to make sure we would have great pictures. On the phone conversation with Ilze, our main photographer, I explained to her the big problem I have about having my eyes closed in most pictures. She listened and made sure to check that she had good shots with my eyes open. She was also very efficient through formal family and romantic pictures to make sure we could have the pictures done within our short time frame ( a bit over 1 hour). She was very friendly and the pictures turned out amazing!! Tracy, our second photographer, also did an amazing job! She took great shots of the guys before the cerimony. I also loved how well she captured the details of the decoration in the reception venue.. the centerpieces, the guest book, the cake, the gift table... all the details we spend so much time planning but we barely get to enjoy during the wedding and now we can remember them forever through her pictures. Patruck was our videographer, he was also very nice, from the phone conversation till the end of the wedding. We still didn't receive our wedding video, but i am 100% sure it will be amazing just like everything that Mike Staff have done.

They were very accommodating each time we got rained out with picking out a new date. They went the extra mile in the planning stage, from scouting out a potential photoshoot site ahead of time, to suggesting times when our photo shoot location (the Arb) would be less crowded, to helping brainstorm ideas to make the photoshoot unique to us. My fiance and I are not big PDA people and were feeling a bit awkward and nervous about doing a photoshoot in a public space, but from the start, Abben and Lily made us feel comfortable. Day of, they helped directed us in natural-looking poses and providing fun suggestions that had us laughing, which made for some wonderful pictures and good memories behind those photos. Abben and Lily both have a fabulous artistic eye for photo composition, and they truly listen and integrate your goals for the photoshoot. They make the photoshoot unique to you. After the shoot, their downloading interface is extremely easy to use, and they are prompt in their photo delivery (ours were delivered in little over two weeks). In terms, of price, they are a true steal for the high quality work they do! We are so happy and feel very blessed to have had Abben and Lily document these memories for us, and would have hired them to do our wedding too if it were taking place in Michigan. Full disclosure, the "Abben" of this photography duo happens to be my talented brother. But know…read morethat with his attention to detail, his knowledge of DSLRs, and his eye for aesthetics, I would be giving this business a 5-star rating after my session with him even if he had been hired as a stranger. So Abben, my fiance at the time to whom I was newly engaged, and I all happened to live in different states - which made scheduling an engagement photoshoot difficult. So what better time than a shoot on the sandy beaches of the Dominican Republic while on a family vacation? To avoid unflattering shadows, the best times for a shoot are sunrise or sunset, and sunrise is definitely easier to have the beach of a resort all to yourself. But alas, cloudy weather for the only two mornings we had free! Abben not only woke up at 4:00 two mornings in a row with us but dealt with the tricky situation like a champ. After processing the photos, we were really impressed with the adjustments he had made. And speaking of editing, let's just say a long bike ride and insufficient sunscreen led to some awkward tan lines all over my back and shoulders that he also magically erased like a pro. Note that even though Lily wasn't able to be there for our shoot, normally both photographers would be present for double the awesomeness. That makes their pricing an amazing deal because most photographers would charge extra for another camera. Abben & Lily's style tends to be more posed for something like a photoshoot but more photojournalistic for an event. This is helpful for those who aren't trained models (most people) or maybe even hate being in front of a camera because you'll receive great instructions so you feel less awkward. And for an event, they'll blend into the background but still get all the pics you need. Look through the portfolio for these two and you'll see that they pour their hearts plus all their creative juices into their work. The only reason we didn't go with them for our wedding photography was that Abben was in the wedding party, and I wanted him to enjoy himself at the wedding. Otherwise, I couldn't recommend these two more!

Our pictures are still a work in progress (it's been less than a week since our wedding), but as…read morefar as the 'day of' Sandy and Tim hit it out of the park. First, they arrived wearing our wedding colors, which speaks to their attention to detail! Immediately I was at ease with them, and by the end of the evening it felt more like they were friends than hired photographers. I was sad to see them leave! We did many of the wedding party and family photos before the ceremony, which I highly recommend if you intend to enjoy your reception. As we were planning the pre-ceremony photo session my husband was concerned that the 'first look' photos would feel hooky - as it was Tim and Sandy put him at ease and it was a very special experience for him. Throughout the evening, Sandy was like a bridesmaid, best friend and outside observer rolled into one - she helped me with wardrobe tape when I was dressing, chased me around with bobby pins toward the end of the evening when my hair started to fall, and with Tim's help kept order in the sweetest way as we attempted to get through our shot list. By the end of the night we had photos will all our guests without feeling as if even a fraction of the night was spent posing for the camera. I am so excited to see our photos - Sandy and Tim were so creative (while still being down to earth) that I have no doubt we'll find at least a few to treasure always.

We all have facebook friends that fit that certain stereotype. You know...the bragger, the…read morepartier, the politico, and of course, the liker -- the person that likes everything anyone and everyone posts. Personally, I'm a lurker. I check it daily but I post minimally. However, I finally lived out the liker lifestyle when I saw my wedding photos taken by Blend. Seriously, I was 'Liking' all over the place! Blend Photography consists of a husband and wife team, whose artistic vision blends (see what I did there!?!) to deliver the perfect results for your event. Together, they were able to create the exact look and feel I was looking for and capture all those important moments of the big day. I found Blend Photography through a simple Yelp search...thanks again, Yelp! I was panicky and frazzled. I just did an engagement session with another photographer, I was less than thrilled. Very, very less than thrilled! So I started searching and calling. Jen from Blend quickly returned my call and called my nerves immediately. Yes, they had my date open and yes, she could meet with me to discuss my event and 'vision.' Already, I was confident in my choice...I loved what I saw online, I loved that she could make me feel comfortable immediately over the phone and I loved that she was willing to work with my hectic schedule. And after a meet and greet, I realized I was very, very confident with Blend. Our engagement session took place during an evening following a super hot day. Unfortunately, we kept having to reschedule because of the heat wave we were having during that time. I so glad we kept on rescheduling...no one wants to look at photos of a sweaty, kissy couple with frizzy hair. Luckily, the evening we took the photos was perfect, even though it was still warm. Jen and Rob had some great ideas in mind for shots and locations but also made sure to capture the spots that my guy and I wanted as well. And then our big day came. Leading up to the wedding day, Jen kept in touch via email to solidify the details of the actual day. She also made sure to find out which shots/poses/locations were most important to me. Both Jen and Rob wielded cameras that day, making sure to capture every moment from multiple angles. They definitely caught some great shots, but made sure to stay unobtrusive during the most important moments. And most importantly, they stayed very respectful of the flow and traditions of the wedding and the synagogue. A few weeks later, I was finally able to see the amazing shots on their website. They also promptly had a disc and a letter granting me rights to reproduce the photos waiting for me as soon as it was ready. Unfortunately, the wedding album did take some time to get to me -- however this was because of some issues with their lab. The wait was long, but in the end it was worth it -- the photobook was great. Just a tip though -- make sure your let them know of every shot you want/need. They are not mind readers and because of that mistake on my part, I feel like I lost out on a shot of an important custom from the ceremony. So yea, I'm definitely happy I chose Blend to be part of my big day. I guess its more than just 'like' -- its 'love' when it comes to the great photos to remind me of that amazing day.
