He was very easy to talk to, explained things very well, and had an opening. I visited him in his Troy studio to confirm I made the right decision in choosing him to shoot our engagement portraits and I was not disappointed. Michael's studio in Troy is comfortable, quirky, and fun. Located in an old church, he has a beautiful display of his work for his clients to peruse. Being an Indian bride whose family really wanted a photographer with experience with our culture, I practically drooled over the huge print of the Indian couple right outside his studio door. We discussed locations and decided on a few. He was relaxed with the payment process and was always available for me to call and email (maybe more than he would have liked, what can I say? I'm a nervous bride). We arrived yesterday to take our portraits not sure what to expect. For some reason, I thought I would be extremely comfortable with the process. Instead of being some starlet in front of the camera, I froze. I was very stiff and so was my fiance in several photographs but Michael eased us into it and asked us to just behave together as we normally would. I was nervous about how I looked but he reassured me that everything would turn out great. By the time we got to our second location, we were much more relaxed and calm and when I saw the sneak preview of our photographs today, we looked naturally blissful. The whole experience was amazing and easy. I am a control freak but I was happy to let go of control with Michael because from the beginning of our appointment to the end of our session, there was trust there between the three of us. I can't wait to see our engagement portraits and hope to use him as our wedding photographer (fingers crossed).

Olivia did not take any photos of our CEREMONY and provided many blurry/grainy photos. Olivia delivered our photos late, and gave us no communication, I actually had to reach out to her after the delivery date to see where they were and she didn't get back to me until a week later. Olivia has given us so many ridiculous excuses as well as changed her story/reasoning for things multiple times. Olivia has continued to provide awful communication, ignoring our emails for weeks at a time, on several different occasions. After months of trying to come to a resolution, Olivia has only offered us a $150 refund out of the $2,500 we paid her. All while claiming she did her job to the best of her ability. We will never have photos of the most important part of our wedding to share with friends and family. I am surprised at how many good reviews she has, the service we received has been so poor it seems almost impossible to believe other reviews. I have went back and forth on leaving this review, but if I am able to save just one couple from having to deal with this catastrophe it will be worth it. To add to it all, if we want to fight to get our money back we are going to have to take her to small claims court. The studio we shot in was BEAUTIFUL with a lot of different spaces to create different looks. The make up artist she worked with was friendly, professional did my face better than I could have on my own. Finally, to top it all off my phones were ready well ahead of schedule and she quickly made whichever edits I asked for. Her packages were competitively priced compared to other boudoir packages in the area and I believe I got a lot more bang for my buck.

I went hoping for some sensual shots to use for my album release promotion. What I got was something reminiscent of mall glamour shots. I believe her services are too pricey for the quality offered in the end. There were over 90 shots, none of which I loved, but 14 I liked enough to try and salvage the shoot. In my package I paid for 7 and inquired about getting the extra 7. She snapped on me and told me to read my contract and that I was never promised any photos and that she doesn't give photos only products. She tried to just give me 7 shots printed in a book. Then she actually read the contract herself and realized I was entitled to 7 digital files. Now for the extra photos. I was already unhappy because I paid extra for a "video" which looked like one of my toddlers was holding the camera because she does not own any video equipment like a stabilizer. No lighting present at the shoot either, just good old fashioned sunlight. And nothing present to personalize the shoot. Same rug, same couch, same everything for each client. I was not interested in receiving the book. I didn't love the photos. I tried to take personal responsibility, like maybe I've got issues, but some are just poorly shot, missed moments, bad shadows. In the final edits of the 7 she decided she should give me, there where pronounced nipples and pubic hair left in the shot that caused my first promotional cover for my album to be rejected from the online store for nudity. I asked her to make things fair, to even the scale and make me feel like I didn't waste my time and $$$ just send me the raw files for the 14 pictures I liked. I'll get them edited myself. Easy right? Left click, email, boom! But no. Miss thang got big mad. And I don't know why? You can't please everyone. You did not please me. I offered a FREE way to settle this dispute but pride got in the way. Even ignored my lawyer's requests. So here I am warning anyone that takes their career seriously. Skip this stop. She's good for a sexy photo for ya man, but if you need anything to use in high resolution for professional campaigns it's a big NO from me.

I explicitly talked about the image I wanted to portray, During the shooting session, he told me to squinch my eyes to make my smile look genuine. I actually have a genuine smile, but I complied. I also showed him an image that was taken 5 years ago that I liked. At the end of the session, he told me that he wanted me to see how he finished a headshot to give it a professional edge. He picked an image from the session. It was not the image I chose. When he emailed the image three weeks later, I told him that I did not approve of the touchup. I instructed that when he touched up the chosen image to leave my eyebrows alone. His touchup showed a highly arched brow that did not extend to the outer brow bone. The eyes were squinched, making them appear irritated and the makeup was heavy. I didn't hear from Kuwan for a couple of months after he told me that my brows weren't even. When I finally contacted him again, it took a couple of weeks more for him to get back in touch. The first image he sent back was the same one that I had not chosen and had issues with. I contacted him by phone and asked if he even knew which image I had chosen. He told me how to go back to the website and choose the image. A week later he sent an untouched head shot with red eyes. He said he only did a minimal job because I had complained about the heavy makeup. This was not the professional job I was expecting for $150. I will call American Express to get my fee returned. I have the photos to prove this sham of a professional photographer.

They arrived well before the session started to set up; communication was great. Russell Photography has the ability to put you at ease and they make you feel like you are the number one priority. Their photos are beautiful. Our daughter was very happy to be able to have several outfit changes and scenic poses on the beautiful lake setting. She even suggested trying on their Parker Smith jeans. The first day I came they were closed. I came back during the end of this week. The photography side was closed today, but the Boutique side was open. It's a small boutique shop on the other side of this building. There's a sordid dresses, shorts, skirts, sweaters and Jewelry. My eyes went right to the jeans, since that was the one reason I had come. The woman that help me behind the desk is super helpful and grabbed several pairs of jeans for me to try on. She put them all into a fitting room for me. They have a lot of shredded style jeans in at the moment. They had very few non-ripped or shredded jeans in today. They will be getting more shipment in, however it was being delayed with a pandemic and all. The service was friendly and really good. The Parker Smith jeans are on the pricey side, but they fit like a glove and are super comfortable. I settled on the dark wash, even though they were little too dark for me. I was told that the wash would not feed much, bummer. At least they were super comfortable and fit well. I'll be back for more jeans here when they get another larger shipment. They definitely need to have more standard or normal medium washed jeans without rips and shreds for me.
