We highly recommend this place! Friendly and helpful Staff! Very clean facilities! Convenient location, close to everything! We booked a camper site with electricity. Well manicured grounds. Beautiful setting! read more
I suspect people have radically different experiences here based on whether they are staying in the hostel/cabins vs. the campsite. The hostel/cabins book months in advance, so don't come here expecting to find a room the same day. We made that mistake and were directed to the campsite instead. I have to admit, paying 225 krone (about $30) per night to pitch our tent on a random patch of grass was a disappointment, but you'd be hard-pressed to find anything cheaper in Flam, which is a major tourist destination. This place is in a solid location too, as it is about a 5-minute walk from the bus station. As far as campsites go, this one is very basic. There are water spouts, bathrooms with coin-op showers, a small communal kitchen, a playground for the kidlets, and coin-op laundry. Food options are a mini-store at the info desk and a food truck that comes at night. There are some broken wooden picnic tables to eat your food at, some covered by the pavilion and others uncovered. Bathrooms are clean enough. If I were to return to Flam, I would book a cabin way in advance, since it seemed to be an overall much nicer experience. read more
We loved being able to rent bikes here. There is an amazing bike path that winds along the fjord that is close to the hostel. We rented bikes twice and they were able to hold our bags after we checked out so we could do some more biking until we left on our fjord cruise. The setting and grounds of the hostel are very scenic and peaceful. Loved the beautiful dining area and communal kitchen. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Amazing view from our private room. There was a hair dryer for anyone to use!! Super close to town, like a 5-10 minute walk. I have foot problems and can't walk for long, but was able to get here easily with my luggage. Cons: I didn't like the bunk beds. Mattresses were thin. No breakfast. There was one family with noisy kids who weren't always wearing diapers/pants... Next time I would stay in one of the private cabins. read more
I stayed in a bunch of hostels during my Scandinavia trip and this was by far my favorite. I know a lot of people who do the Norway in a Nutshell itinerary try and cram it all in a day but I figured it would be much more relaxing if it was broken up in two and decided to stay a night in Flam. Initially I looked at AirBnB and there weren't a whole lot of options that were cheap but finally found a private room at this hostel. The private room included a private bathroom (bring your own towels or you'll have to rent one). The price was very good, and a short 5 minute walk from the train station/ferry terminal and everything else in Flam (which isn't saying much being a small town but still.....). It sounds like from previous reviews that people had an issue with the campsite but the experience in the hostel was definitely a lot different from that. There is a communal kitchen where you can cook if you'd like to and there is a small supermarket a short walk away. There was also a food stand outside the hostel when I was there that was selling reindeer meatballs! Had no complaints about that and I'd do anything to go back and enjoy the views of the fjord from my window :) read more

Simple basic camping site with no special features other than the great location and view. The site is very crowdy and people usually stay here for 1-2 days. No special atmosphere here. Toilets/showers are ok but not very clean. read more

This was an amazing hostel! Really clean and cozy, quiet and beautiful environment, and a short 5 minute walk to an amazing view of fjord! I got a large room meant for 4 but ended up having the space to myself:) also, its a short walk from the train drop off site as part of the Norway in a nutshell tour. Definitely would stay there again! read more
