It was a blown engine (rod, cylinder, bearing, who knows the cause at this point). Spoke with the owner Charles who was fantastic and filled with integrity. The mechanic Gareth replaced the engine and had the car back in a week (there were other issues as a result of shrapnel shooting out of the block). 600 miles on the 76k used engine and so far no issues. Mr. Hoover (Charles) also let me know, and I trust him, if there's an issue he will make it right. I did consult a couple of other mechanics and they said that the work was being done at a very reasonable price (one said it was cheaper than he could do, especially the price of the engine). Most people need to realize cars a crap shoot. Quality integrity and workmanship is a skill though.

Charged me $20 for a code read and tried telling me my car is undrivable and a piece of junk. Tried making me feel stupid and when I told him I KNOW it's my EVAP, he goes "No, it's your wheel bearing and suspension." *cue EVAP code on the code reader* Idiots.
