Is there a way to give zero stars? This place is running a scam so I advise everyone to watch out…read morefor it. I was admitted for rehab and ironically The Pines said there was nothing more they could do for me on the same day my insurance ran out. No one in my family was informed that my insurance was about to run out, that my rehab was finished nor that I would have to pay out of pocket for additional days. After my family did find out, The Pines would not immediately release me while running up my bill for about 10 uninsured (extra) days, charging about $380 a day. Even with the rehab The Pines is not worth anything near this. With a few exceptions the staff are the most uncaring and incompetent anywhere in the area. Where ever I went, I asked doctors, nurses and therapists, about The Pines and all advised to avoid the place. Please for your sake or the sake of your loved one, avoid this place and if you have been scammed call a lawyer!

My gramma was at first here for rehab and now she wants to stay here permanently. She has been here…read morefor about 2 months now. I visit her often and so I've noticed a lot of things. The staffs are very nice, caring, and loving to her and to the other residents. They're very attentive. I think because it is a smaller facility that it really works out well. They're not overloaded with too many residents so they actually can be more attentive to each person. Her room is always clean and she's always clean also. Which tells me she gets bathe often. I do have a complaint about their food. It's terrible! A lot of the meals I have no clue what it is just because it looks terrible. I always bring food in for my gramma though, but I don't know how the residents can eat such bland and soupy looking meals. I truly think it's worse than the schools cafeteria lunches. I just wish they get better funding for better meals for the residents here.

My mother is a current resident of this facility. Finding the right place and getting her settled…read morewas a top priority for my family this summer. After a lot of research and visits to rehabilitation centers, my sister and I were lucky enough to find Sunset. We knew from the moment we walked in, this was the place for her. The Administrator, Bob, was actually the first person we spoke to. The Admissions Consultant, whom we were scheduled to meet with, was wrapping up with something else so Bob offered to show us around. He introduced us to the therapists, nurses, and social worker. We walked through the building and outside on the beautifully maintained grounds where there was a vegetable garden, paved walkways and a gazebo. We watched a round of BINGO, one of the many activities conducted daily, along with Social Hour, Manicure Time, Art and Crafts... My mom has been there 2 months now. The facility has been short-staffed much like many of the nursing homes as of recently, but they still manage to take care of their patients, pick up the phone when I call, and respond to requests for little things that I've asked for. My e-mails are always answered and the staff is very helpful and kind. I have no issue with giving this facility a five star rating!

She was left sitting in stool and urine for hours and hours at a time . One time 5 hours left soiled . One of the staff at night told her that she had orders it was ok to get out of bed to her commode she even thou she was laying in still she could not change her. As a nurse myself this is abuse to any pt. The bladder scanner she was told was broken so they could not scan her anymore but yet if the doctors orders are to do so she should of been transferred out of the facility if they could not follow md orders. Every time I complained the some staff members were mean to here and rough when they did change her brief some times just removing the brief and rushed to wipe her down after sitting in urine. I was told by Heidi the nurse that mom my was straight catheter and bladder scanned every shift and yet my mom was alert and orient when I challenged that Heidi told me I know what I'm reading in her chart I stated someone is documenting for task that haven't been performed in days! Terrible place never again state informed and I pray the state goes in and sites them on tons of violations Yelp makes me add a star before posting this place deserves no stars. And if you are wondering why I didn't take her out of there I did I live in another state flew to ny and got her out !

I had a broiled Seabass this evening with finger potatoes and roasted carrots, French onion soup and French vanilla ice cream that I would swear came out of a gourmet kitchen. There was a full bar in the Acacia Village complex with a surprising assortment of beer, wine and spirits. The residents of these various facilities seem authentically happy and there is plenty to do. I got to check out hydroponic greenhouses, a library, two different chapels, fitness centers and some historic sites in addition to a number of walking trails. I know many people here, although it is only my second time visiting. When it comes time for me to retire, I will strongly consider this magnificent facility.
