I came here on a quiet Thursday. Unfortunate at 6:30 not many people in the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and the furniture was clean. I decided to go for the buffet. Compared to the states they had different items at the bar that we usually see at fogo in the states. For one they have one or 2 extra types of smoked fish. They had different fruit offerings like dragon fruit kiwi and grapes. Didn't get the prosciutto since it did have a few fruit flies on it. There were different offerings of meat compared to the states. The beef rib is definitely better than Houston's. The best was probably the prime rib or ribeye steak. The cheese balls were definitely different they are fried. The service was very attentive even for English speakers. The picanha steak could be better. Overall excellent. Disappointing experience. Not good service, one side was brought 40 minutes later and cold, it took them almost an hour to cook my salmon so I cancelled the order, but they still put the charge on. The worst part was that the meet servers were passing our table completely ignoring us. We have barely tried any meat from the large variety they had. We have been in many restaurants of this chain, but it's the first time we were served so poorly. read more

Simply one of the best meals that I have ever had! The cuts of meat are endless and you get to let them know what you prefer. With over 20 plus cuts of meats, an incredible salad bar with fresh fruit, veggies, and mediterranean offerings, it's still only just beginning! Ask for rice (they have a couple different kinds), beans, fried onions, potatoes, and other side dishes that they will being to you. The fried onions were SO good too. I loved the tenderloin and the tri-tip but again, order lots of things and find out what you love. You put your circular card on the green side when you want to be asked to try various meats on skewers, or you can out it on the red side when you need a break or you're done. They have plenty of drinks like the fresh limeade which are not included in the price of the meal and their desserts are quite impressive too. But if you want to eat dessert like a local, ask for the grilled bananas and a side of ice cream and some cinnamon. My oh my. And be careful. They will not stop sending bananas unless you finally put up the white flag. They have locations plenty in the US and other parts but they dont hold a candle to the ones in Rio. There is one in Barra with a great view of the lagoon and another in Botafogo with a marvelous view of the bay and Sugar Loaf!!! read more

We came here as a big group on an evening several other large groups felt it would be a good idea to come here, something to do with a small event happening in Rio at the time!! Depending on which side your driver drops you at will depend on how easily you find the resturant!! It is based in a shopping centre dedicated to furnishing your home, and some very nice shops on display. The resturant is dark and furnished with lots of dark woods and bottles of wine, not a bad thing. This is one of those Brazilian places which have the 'red & green' cards. If you've not been to one before red means no more green means more, simple. I've been to a couple of these in london so I knew the concept some of the others did not but once they go under way they were ok. The waiting staff come around with different types of meat and slice it off onto your plate. There was a salad bar which you need to visit to start everything off as that's where the plates are!! We started off accepting every meat they brought about half hour in the copious amounts of tender beef along side crispy pork and succulent lamb meant lots of cards had turned to red, however the waiters really didn't care as they kept coming and slicing off more and more meat. The meat along side the very tasty red wine we had selected went down far to easy. It's only when you do stop eating and rest for a moment you. Can feel how much you have eaten. The meat was very good but the salad bar was not as good as some of the other churrascarias we've visited while here in Rio. The beans and rice were delivered to the table in small bowls for sharing. The beans were very salty. The best cut of meat was the ribeye and of course the picana. read more

We always go to the Fogo in our town In San FraCisco however, our friend, Myhle the manager of SF was able to arrange for us to have a dinner at their flagship restaurant. When we first pulled up, we where extremely impressed. It is one of the biggest restaurants I've even been too! The staff was so attentive and wonderful which made our experience exceptional. I came here for dinner. i was on a work trip and wanted to eat something familiar (we have this same restaurant in the US) and still was a Brazilian style meal! Was delicious. I got the all you can eat experience and had so many delicious sides, the self serve salad and so much meat! I was also fortunate that my hotel gave me a drink for free card. The caipirinhas were probably one of the bests i had on my trip to Rio! Would definitely recommend! read more
