But overall I'm happy because it's located in a nice area. It's also an express stop so it's open during COVID while other stations are closed. Conveniently, there's a PNC branch located next to the parking lot which is great if you are grabbing cash to spend in Chinatown- which frequently does not take card. I have no issues parking here. And as far as the people that frequent the station, they are not ruffians. And the station is kept clean. It's also so close to Philadelphia that you'll be there after about a 10-minute ride. Like many of the PATCO stations, waiting on the platform outside provides a nice breeze and lots of shade during the summer time!

Below, it's a bit busier than other Patco stations due to the connections with other public transportation. You're almost always guaranteed a seat during busy periods since this is the first stop.

On weekends, they sit here even longer. You're basically guaranteed a seat when you hop on here, even if it's a sardine car. I find it generally better to sit inside of the train while I wait for it to head to Jersey rather than wait for it to arrive on the platform. Creepy people have a way of finding me and this holds true in PATCO stations. If I'm standing away from the crowd, some dude will invariably come up and hover in my personal space while staring me down. Go away, yes? But anyway, this station has ample entrances in the vicinity and the payment kiosks always seem to work. It's a good and easy transport option if you're heading across the river.

We can drive in Philly just fine, we're used to crappy roads, crazy drivers, traffic etc. But why bother when you can get a round trip patco ticket for $6 and park for free after 10 am at this station? Parking is ample with decent lighting to boot. Some of it is covered. They also just freshened up the interior of the place a bit, so it feels a bit more welcoming and clean. PATCO as whole is cleaner & nicer than SEPTA. We did see a cop riding around the lot tonight. Good thing because we've also seen random guys checking for open car doors in the past. Oh well, life isn't without risk. Consider Woodcrest station next time you want to go to center city. It's a lot less hassle without the tolls, traffic, parking & the PPA.

First, if you are looking for a convenient and truly bargain priced way to enter the City of Brotherly Love it doesn't get better than PATCO!!! Six bucks for a round trip!!! The bridge cost into Philly is $5 and parking rates usually start around $8/hour if space is available. PATCO has somehow managed to keep the price super cheap but maybe that is in part due to my super high New Jersey tax bill. Now convenience doesn't get better than the Woodcrest PATCO unless you live within walking distance of another station! The WOODCREST Station has its very own exit off of I-295. I am surprised that some Jersey politico hasn't convinced the governing powers to give the exit their name but no matter take the Woodcrest Exit and drive straight into the massive FREE (Except between 7am & 10pm weekdays) parking lot. During the work week 9-5 hours parking is hard to find but shouldn't you be working then too? Woodcrest Station's parking lot provides a clear view of the elevated tracks so you can see your train leaving as you walk towards the station, which happened to me today necessitating a 30 minute wait for the next train. PATCO trains run a regular schedule that I have always found to be quite accurate. The station itself well it's nothing to write home about and an astute (its in the dictionary) reviewer would probably say BLAH while giving only a star or two but to me a train station review needs to cover start to finish. So there are no galleries to stroll through, no day old bakery wares being sold as fresh with a cup of "joe," and not even a heated lounge to sit in. They do have a dusty old American flag stretched out by the stairs, whose purpose I could not discern because it had patriotic potential even though unclean but it could be an artistic commentary for just that very reality in its appearance. Stark with steps and escalating steps (they worked) to take travelers to the train platform. Before heading up to the train I have a couple of issues with ticketing. : Right now I have FOURTEEN Susan B Anthony Dollar coins in my pocket!!! Did you even know they still minted those? If you use cash ... and I did ... the machines only give coins in return and of course where once we paid a human to sell tickets in today's world the machine is it. The second issue is only related to newbie PATCO riders and it has to do with the flimsy paper ticket you are issued. There are no instructions but what one needs to know is that ticket not only gets you into the stations' inner sanctums where you board trains but at the end of the ride you will need it to return to the non-train world. Throw it away because you think it has only a get on purpose will lead to more money being spent to escape. They really need guidelines or a message on the tickets!! So let's up to our train ... at the top of the stairs/escalator is a small enclosed hallway where riders can stand out of the elements. It is very clean and welcoming with paper schedules scotch taped to the wall (come on folks you can do better) but the schedule was helpful and accurate. You can also brave the elements out on the platform where there are benches. There was also an emergency call box that I was attempted to test for the sake of the review but misuse of emergency devices might carry a fine so I just noted the button is there. The trains are clean and provide a comfortable ride. Be sure to check out the USS New Jersey moored on the Delaware as you move between New Jersey and Pennsylvania. A good ride folks and a reminder that public transportation can be your best choice ... Now where did I put that ticket?

If you want to pay cash make sure you use the correct machine one of them is cards only and the other one is cash or card. Was planning on paying in cash but use the wrong machine so I had to use a card. But it was easier than I thought to get the card and you can just tap it to check your balance. Have not tired the key out because I had a token to get ride but look forward to testing it out soon.

It is not in West Chester even though the GPS address would leave you to believe so - more like West Whiteland Township. It is not handicapped accessible even though there are handicapped spaces. When you exit from the westbound side, go down the stairs and make sure you press the pedestrian button. This will halt traffic from passing under the narrow bridge so that you can get to the stairs on the inbound side to get to the parking lot.
