I can't comment on the services of this optometrist, nor the frame selection (I special ordered frames I already knew I liked, and used an existing prescription). They carry my favorite brand: 141! The staff here is friendly and the glasses I got are great. The only thing that's a bit unusual is their strict system for the front of house (frames and fitting), not only the back of house (exam). We all expect to make an appointment for an exam, but it's unusual to have to make an appointment to bring in a paper copy of an e-signed prescription that can be e-mailed (or dropped off at any time, presumably), and when a credit card might be given over the phone. Once I was there, a lens order was placed that had some bells and whistles. I had to inquire to find out what I was paying for. I was ok with the decisions, but surprised I hadn't been asked about them. Most places build up your lens order question by question, customizing along the way, instead of choosing for you. And later, when the glasses are in, you make another strict appointment to pick them up. In short: Foley has a rigid way of operating. It's not a huge deal, and I might well return to them again in future. But I rushed out of a work meeting to get there by 12 on the dot for my frame pickup appointment... and the place was empty and it took 5 minutes. Why make the customer do this? read more

upon check in I went over the sheet of costs, I had to question each one, and circled the ones that my insurance was covering. I was surprised there was one that my insurance would not cover, as I was there for a medical exam, not a vision check. I refused that cost and they comped it. There was also a $52. charge which I thought was my co pay. It was not pointed out to be a Refractive test, but I later realized it had to do with a RX for vision, and I was not there for a vision exam. I was told by Dr Foley I had eye mites causing dry eye....we all have eye mites, but I must have an inordinate amount if causing this issue. I was referred to another provider for a Yag procedure. Upon leaving, I paid what I thought was my co pay, $52. and was given some Ocusoft for the eye mites, whioch was $25. I later found out this Original Ocusoft does not treat eye mites...Also the next provider I saw regarding the Yag procedure, said I did not need the Yag Procedure, and that I did not have an inordinate amount of eye mites.....really quite frustrating....The couple of times I dropped by with questions and to pick up the pricing sheet I had requested, I was treated rudely, like the front desk people certainly had better things to do than take care of a patient's questions, and I was given the wrong sheet and "Our computers are down, and we are closed next week" when I asked for the correct one. There must be something better, these folks set a real low bar.... read more

They bill routine visits as medical appointments to get paid for a "specialist visit" and do other services that cost extra but do not tell you up front. I received a bill the mail for $100+ and called for clarification as I didn't recall anything additional done at my yearly checkup. The person who answered explained it was for a picture they took of my eye and a tear sample. I wasn't given a choice if I wanted either of these done. And when I said I was frustrated about the unexpected cost she just hung up on me. I will be looking for a new office. read more

Everything. Terrible woman at the desk. I came in to look for a pair of glasses. The blonde lady at the desk was so rude I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe someone so inept and rude would be hired to work with the public. Tried to get an approximate price on a pair of glasses. She actually yelled at me because I didn't have an appointment. I left and went to The Spectacle Shop on willamette. Very nice people. Professional, competent and extremely helpful. All of the qualities you would look for in a glasses store. Foley vision center lacks any of these things. I wound up purchasing 2 pairs of glasses. One pair with progressive lenses and transitions as well. The other pair are sunglasses with progressives. Foley vision lost out on a nice purchase. The blonde rude woman needs to be fired. Don't go here. Go to The Spectacle Shop. One star is too high a rating for the foley vision center. Garbage business read more

Well we formerly went to Foley and enjoyed her expertise about developmental vision and kids. We've gone for 4 years. However, they now say that our visits will not be covered by our very good vision insurance because they might bill them as medical appointments instead of vision appointments, even though they are just our yearly eye exams. I was completely unimpressed by this eye doctor. First of all, they charge $185 for an eye exam, which is completely ridiculous. Oh, and if you wear contacts plan on paying another $45 for "the fitting." Considering they asked me what my prescription was, including the diameter and the curve I highly doubt they did much for that $45 charge. I was told all kinds of crap about how I have dry eyes so I'll have to buy all their expensive products ($14 eye wash along with $14 eye drops). Oh, and I probably shouldn't use my current lens cleaner so I should buy their kind because it doesn't have preservatives. I didn't want an eye dilation because I had one done last year and they told me I'd have to "pay extra" for another test if I was refusing the dilation. I told them I refused to do so because it wasn't necessary and my insurance wouldn't cover it. And, to top it off they messed up my prescription order. I told them I didn't want to buy from them so I ordered them online. When it came time for them to confirm my order they denied it by giving my online store my eyeglass prescription numbers instead of my contact lens prescription numbers. I had to call them, inform them of their error, and then reorder my contacts. They also didn't give me my "free" sample of contacts that they told me I would get upon leaving. NEVER AGAIN. I'm not sure what eye doctor 'Kim S.' went to, but I am pretty sure that this is not the same Dr. Foley that my husband went to for our annual eye appointments. Not only did they max out any and all benefits that we had, they also proceeded to charge us $236.36 OVER what they should have, and when confronted by both my insurance AND my husband, it took two months, and him PHYSICALLY having to go pick up the check from their office. Oh, and please, be sure to check your contact lens samples, and all the other crap they like to market - make sure the expiration date hasn't gone south, as did the samples they tried to hand my husband. After years of good care I decided to buy glasses from Foley Vision. Dr. Foley is as kind as she is competent. However, I could not see well out of my very expensive new glasses. After returning I was told I'd get used to them in time. I tried. After falling and being snowed in, I went to Rainbow Optics where I had gotten glasses in the past. They discovered: the frames were the wrong size, the bifocal was misplaced and a section of the right bifocal was missing. There was no proper follow up. First time visiting an eye doctor and getting glasses and this place took advantage of that! They charged me for EVERYTHING they could think of, made me come back several times, screwed up appointment times and the whole thing cost me several hundreds of dollars. They just picked for me lenses that were transitional and had the blue filter on them (which is more expensive of course) and didn't even confirm with me. They also sent me home with wipes that I thought were complimentary and luckily I called and found out they were $50!! (they did let me return those but it was a hassle). I didn't know better, just went to a new doctor and am furious to find out how wrong my prescription was, how over priced my glasses were and how many appts it took me. Costco had me in and out in under 40 minutes and were great and cheap. read more

I just walked out of the office because the front desk person is so rude! First she told me I was there for a detached retina never have had that problem. She went to check came back oh you have floaters! No I don't! I felt like she was just trying to get me for more money. I wanted to yell at her for being rude I didnt i told her she was rude she then went to get someone else, thats when I walked out. My time is precious she wasn't my time! Don't go there. I have been going to Foley Vision Center for several years, and recommend it to all my friends for several reasons. Dr. Foley is state of the art--the practice utilizes the most up to date techniques and equipment for examinations and Dr. Foley herself keeps up to date on all new medical research and literature. I also appreciate how surgeries like LASIK are not 'pushed' on me, like they were pushed at another practice. I feel very confident that I'm getting the best treatment possible (I wear contacts and have chronic dry eyes, which is a very common problem among women of a certain age). Dr. Foley and her staff are amazing. I would definitely recommend EVERYONE to go here. She genuinely cares about her patients. My first visit with Dr.Foley I was diagnosed with dry eyes. All along I thought it was "normal" to have dry eyes. She has so much compassion for her job. I never thought an eye doctor cared to figure out what was causing dry eyes. She sent me to get my blood tested to make sure my thyroid and vitamin D levels were okay. She didn't just "sign a prescription" like most doctors would do. The office is very clean. They offer complimentary coffee and water. They also offer a complimentary visit with your baby when they are young for a first visit. My eye appointments are covered by insurance so $$ has never been an issue. read more

Upon my first arrival to Foley Vision Center, I was impressed with the office, the offering of a water or coffee, the hip atmosphere that was created, and the overly nice receptionist. However, after being seen by the staff and doctor, I felt like they were just prescribing me things to make more money. I apparently had dry eyes and had to buy a prescription for drops and also do a certain test in the office, that wasn't covered by my insurance, and buy some special eye wash. I was never told that all this stuff was an additional charge, since I thought this was just a routine eye visit. It was only a few weeks after that I received a bill in the mail stating that my insurance actually didn't cover everything and I was responsible for the additional costs. In addition, my husband and daughter (who have never needed glasses) both were prescribed glasses. My husband's glasses prescription never seemed to be right even after having to have it redone 3 times (with a 6 week wait in between each time)! And my 8 year old daughter said she doesn't notice a difference with or without the glasses, so who knows if there is even a prescription in there. My overall thought on this doctor's establishment is that she adds in all this extra stuff to charge extra money to insurance companies. I will never again go back to them and will never recommend them. I am also writing a letter to my insurance company recommending they remove her from the preferred provider list, since that was how I found her. read more

I have gotten glasses from them in the past just bringing in my other doctors prescription but when I started having billing issues with my other eye doctors office I switched care completely to them and it's been nothing but amazing! Dr.Foley is so nice and takes time with you, definitely doesn't feel like she's rushing, you have her full attention. Stevie is so cool,she helps with getting you your contacts/ glasses and she's always been able to get me the most out of my insurance, which is much appreciated. That visit resulted in cataract surgery and lens implant with Dr. Jason Gross. For the first time since he was 5, my husband wears glasses only for reading. He appreciated the equipment, explanations, and recommendations that Dr. Foley made. My own experience with Foley Vision Center is based upon their team approach. From the initial greeting to eye tests, to Dr. Foley, to lens fitting to billing the entire process reflected a commitment to my individual needs and quality of life through vision. Dr. Foley was nice and caring. I requested for a sunglass and i chose a rayban wayfarer classic so i can take advantage my insurance allowance for frame. I understand tht i have to order a rx lense to claim it thru insurance and i told them that i just want the basic lense. I dont need any special lense for driving and i dont have any issues. I was shocked when the lady told me that the lense was $235 that i have to pay. More than the frame and i think more than the wayfarer itself if i will order it online. Just ridiculous!! I walked out and thats the end of my relationship with this such expensive vision center!! Everything here is expensive! Never ever gonna recommend to friends and colleagues!!! This business is prolly for elite customers who can just afford what they wish to tell you! Such a waste of time visiting this center! read more

We have been patients of Dr. Foley for the past couple of years. All of my experiences have been absolutely wonderful. My daughter did Vision Therapy there, and we saw a dramatic improvement in her reading abilities and her school performance as a result. Most importantly, she went from dreading going to school to loving school. Today I had a particularly wonderful experience. My 5 year old son has had glasses from there for the past 4-5 months. In that time, he has broken them 4 times, and each time they have replaced them for free. Today when we went in because they were broken again, I was no longer interested in getting the same frames, though he really liked them. When I went in, I asked if they would apply the amount that I had paid for the current glasses towards a more expensive and durable pair (I had after all purchased the cheapest one's they had initially) and I would pay the difference. Instead of doing that, they replace the broken pair under the warranty for free, gave me a new frame (which was a lot more expensive than the pair I had originally purchased) for free, and I simply paid for the new lens for the new frames. I found this to by far exceed my expectations of the best remedy for the situation. Now we will have a more durable pair and a back-up pair just in case. The entire staff at Dr. Foley's office has been wonderful. They know us all by name and treat us as family. Dr. Foley is absolutely wonderful with my kids and with me. She takes her time in the exams and explains everything thoroughly. I recommend this office to everyone, and am so grateful we have found them! read more

Terrible service! On a surface level, the staff is polite and friendly, but it takes 3-4 people to do your eye exam and my prescription was not right in the end. Just as Vada posted, "I was told all kinds of crap about how I have dry eyes so I'll have to buy all their expensive products," only my eyedrops were priced at $75 with insurance! and I found out that they were antibiotic drops. Which I think is ridiculous when I'm not having ANY problems with my eyes. They also told me I should buy their eye wash. Then you have to return so the doc can check out your eyes again, pay for another visit, and then end up paying for "labs" which they did not inform me I would have to pay for. I've never had trouble wearing contacts before and the contacts they gave me to trial (thank God they were a trial pair), 3 visits later, were uncomfortable and blurry. Luckily I had asked for a copy of my prescription and discovered that they changed my BC to a larger size. When I called to ask about it, they denied it. Even after paying for the exam and drops I don't have anything to show for it, because the prescription is wrong. I could ask them to correct it, but I have zero faith in them to get it right even with a 2nd chance! I DO NOT recommend going to this place! They will waste your time, money, and energy. read more
