This was a great event. No drama in the crowd. Food choices could have been better. Definitely worth checking out in 2015

I watched the Swan Lake ballet performed by World Ballet Company at the Harris Center. I felt it…read morewas an overpriced, mediocre performance. I got bored by the sets and dancing quickly. My ticket cost $100 plus a $7 service fee. If you want professional ballet, you have to head to SF Ballet in San Francisco. Harris Center is part of Folsom Lake College, a community college. It's a school auditorium. Rows are narrow. Seats are not that comfy or spacious. It does not compare to the beautiful performing arts theaters in downtown Sacramento or San Francisco. There were two sets of restrooms on the main floor. Not very many stalls in one women's restroom, maybe like 6. I thought this wording on the ticket and parking permit printout was confusing: "Ample parking is located adjacent to the Harris Center facility in Lot D." I guess the Harris Center is located in Lot D because there is definitely not enough parking in Lot D alone. We and many others ended up parking in the much larger nearby Lot C. Passes purchased through campus kiosks are $2. On the map, I saw three Daily Parking Permit kiosks located on College Parkway, the loop around campus. Passes purchased online or through the box office are $3, incurring a $1 administrative fee. If you order online, remember print your parking permit to display on your dashboard. It's good that parking is easy and inexpensive.

This duo has great music, vocals and charisma; they were made to play together. Excellent seating, no bad seats in house (I was seated in 4th row, almost center. Great audio. Excellent friendly docents. Look forward to my next visit at this location.

I was so excited for the Renaissance Faire and got all dressed up with my friends. Initially it was…read morea really cool experience. Everyone is dressed up in character which really helps make you feel immersed. There are loads of actors and performers all around the place, and tons and tons of shopping to be done. We saw the archery show which was....ok. It was cool to see them competing with each other, but it was literally impossible to tell which arrow belonged to who. My suggestion would be to attack a big colorful string or change the color of the arrows to match each contestant. We were left confused as to who was winning the entire time because of it. Nobody was mic'd either so it really was silent in terms of the arena. Next we saw the jousting show which was really fun. Tons of theatrics, horses, fighting, and crowd work! That was a good time. Then we went to walk around and catch some of the smaller shows. The majority of this Faire was just vendors selling things. I love events like the Oddities and Curiosities Expo which bring in tons of vendors showing off stuff I literally have never seen before, and I have a huge impulsive feeling to buy. I didn't get that once at this faire. Sure there was some cool stuff but it really wasn't anything that I felt like I needed to buy. Some soaps, crystals, swords, books, and disgustingly a stall selling AI artwork. Some vendors really did have some cool stuff like handmade clothing that was too far out of my budget, but I would love if I were rich. Lines were insanely long so we didn't eat or drink anything here, but it looked ok in terms of food. I just wish there were some unique vendors here or other things to do like games and events that you can partake in. Overall it's not a place you're going to spend the entire day at, but it's fun to kill a couple of hours in costume. We'll most likely be back next year, I just wish it was a bit more "wow" like others I've seen.

So I'm a "Theater Dad"-I have multiple kids who caught the bug early and spent their entire youth…read moreobsessed with everything theater and being on that stage. As a parent their are many perks of being a Theater parent,I got to experience one of them the other night,my adult daughter is in the production Something Rotten! at the El Dorado Musical Theater and this took me to a theater I hadn't had the pleasure of ever attending and I love when that happens. This theater is located in a 30,000 square foot warehouse type building, which has to be so great for the kids and adults who partake in their productions-everything felt so roomy and comfortable-Parking at this location is a breeze, they have their own parking lot so that's a plus. When you arrive on show night after being greeted by the nicest friendliest people at the door checking your tickets, you walk into a snack bar area where they are serving various snacks and drinks where u can get pick up anything from a bag of chips, candy or even an adult beverage-very convenient for those like me who skipped dinner before the show. When you walk into the theater-it is a tad bit cold but they have thought of everything here-the very friendly workers/ushers in the theater offer their patrons blankets they can have at their seats while watching the show, which I felt was so thoughtful. As far as seating goes, they have 3 sections, the center and 2 sides,on this particular night I had tickets on the side but as I learned there really isn't a bad seat in the house,it's designed in such a way that the stage is right on top of you no matter where u sit-so no worries if u don't get 1st few rows center for the show. The production itself is so well written and so well performed by such a talented group of performers-I can tell that this theater truly does put so much time and effort into preparing the performers for show nights that I guarantee you will have an incredible time watching a show out at this really great family friendly theater. In closing-if you ever find yourself out in the El Dorado Hills area and you want to support local theater, which is such an important part of our community,I would fully recommend getting yourself out to El Dorado Musical Theater and catching a show-they are doing really great things out there. PS-Though my daughter is an adult-this theater group has a vast youth program for young performers to partake in musical theater-if your child has ever expressed an interest in performing-get them out there, performing does wonders for building character in our children.

As someone who loves performing AND perfecting, I wasn't overwhelmed while taking direction. The front desk gals were always so pleasant and helpful! This really gave me the inspiration I needed to continue my dreams and aspirations. I looked forward to each class. I also keep in touch in my cohort and we continue to encourage each other! It was great to see all of the photos and success of previous students plastered on the wall! Yes! I love the full breakdown Cody gave us regarding "moving to LA" I was mind blown and completely changed my perspective on Acting and how I should pursue it! I cannot wait to take the commercial course this month and continue my ongoing acting classes! Tip: 1. Go in ready to learn and absorb everything. Take notes, EVERY session. (I'm still reviewing notes and implementing them) 2. Ask questions. Everything that you have ever wondered about the industry. ASK! 3. Make connections. There are beginners, advanced and in-between in the class. There may be opportunities to work with them in the future! 4. During your one on one, speak candidly, respectfully and ask MORE questions! This is your time to learn from Cody, who has been in the industry since he was a child! Wealth of knowledge!
