We had Fonda come out to price four large sized windows in our family room. We had already gotten several quotes and knew exactly what blinds we want. We explained all this to Aaron, owner of the company who does the estimates, and he said he'd bet any price we had gotten. Even though I never showed/told him the other quotes, he came in more than a 1,000 under the next competitor. The blinds arrived yesterday and installed by Will, a superb individual who removed the old shades, installed the new shades, had us use the cord to manurer the shades to different heights and positions. He had us test out all four shades and then gave us tips on how to keep them clean and how to clean them. He cleaned up and was gone without a trace. We absolutely LOVE our Zebra blinds. They made the house look so modernized and updated. And to think every other blind company would have charged anywhere from 1000-1800 dollars more! I went with Fonda for a number of reasons but the kicker was, they are local to my area. They all grew up in Elk Grove; they live, work, and go to school here. I love keeping my money local and this company really, really deserves your consideration when looking for any type of window coverings. They do blinds, shades, shutters and the material is very high quality. I was referred to Fonda's by another window covering company. I reached out and was contacted back immediately by Aaron Fonda. We set up an appointment, he showed up ready and on time. After much discussion about the electronic and regular honeycomb blinds I was interested in Aaron measured and returned a proposal promptly. After reviewing his proposal against 2 other companies it was clear Aaron's understanding of my needs was head and shoulders above the others. I signed the contract and about a month later I had my beautiful blinds! This was in July of 2024. Fast forward to November 2024. I hadn't anticipated how much more I'd love the electronic blinds over the manual ones (even though they look exactly the same) I contacted Aaron again and he converted 4 more blinds to electronic. Not only do they work off of a remote but through an app on my phone! I set up routines for opening and closing on weekends and weekdays. These Alta Blinds from Fonda's are amazing. So much better than going to Home Depot! He really listened to me and didn't try to upsell me, which I really appreciated. All in all, I would have paid way more had I purchased the blinds myself and hired someone to install them, and would not have gotten such personalized service. This review is long overdue. I finally got back into my YELP account just so that I could share this with y'all because I'm rarely on here anymore. BUT know this... Fonda Window Coverings has solid 5 star reviews for a reason! They really are ALL THAT! In fact... they're truly deserving of far FAR MORE than FIVE stars but since that's not an option on YELP (lol), I decided to log on here and gush about their company especially Aaron and Nick because they are truly an AMAZING company to work with. Here's the reader's digest version. Nick installed beautiful linen roller shades for us about a year or so ago (see below, my original review on Google). They were an incredible family owned company THEN and they remain a SOLID and INCREDIBLE family owned company NOW. Talk about a company that stands by their name and their workmanship! WOW! The other day, the remote control that operates the shades went whackadoo. In other words, it wasn't working properly for some odd reason which meant the roller shades weren't going up and down anymore throughout the house. I changed the battery thinking that ought to fix it but it didn't. The battery wasn't the issue. It wouldn't have been so bad but I have a Mid-Century Mod Home which means I have floor to ceiling windows throughout the house which also means if those shades don't go down after the sun goes down, it leaves you quite exposed to passer-bys so you can basically see right into our home. That's not cool at nighttime. I panicked and reached out to the company as soon as they opened the next morning for help. Owner, Aaron came to the rescue! I kid you not! It was storming yesterday!!! If you're local you know. The rain was coming down hard (think cats AND dogs) and windy as all get out. Aaron was so kind. He came right out and reprogrammed all the shades throughout the house for us. It wasn't just a simple fix either because all the shades had to be properly lined up. He was incredibly patient with me. He's just an all around nice guy. But wait, there's more. A few months before my remote flaked out on me, Nick (who had originally installed all the shades for us) came out to help me because the front window shades and one of the bedroom shades needed technical attention and troubleshooting. (Our son who thought he was being helpful, accidentally pulled the shade down manually, not knowing they operated by remote control.) Ooops... so the shade was now dragging on the wood floor and needed to be properly reprogrammed. Nick came out and fixed it all right up! He was fabulous just as Aaron was and he took great care of both issues without a hitch. Boom Shakalakalaka BOOM! Done and done. He fixed everything with a smile and just the kindest heart. Here's why I'm gushing... We hear so much about service industry companies doing the bare minimum. Customer service is subpar and nothing like it used to be. Fonda Window Coverings is the complete opposite. They not only do fine work and are consummate professionals, they restore your faith in humanity. And... last but not least, they provide good old fashioned customer service EVERY TIME! I'm super grateful and I'm definitely going to keep bragging about them to family, friends, neighbors and colleagues. They're just a great company! Hands down! Yesterday afternoon we had the pleasure of having three sets of new blinds installed by Fonda Window Coverings. Our installation expert, William, was a case study in efficiency and professional expertise. After extracting from their packing boxes three meticulously-wrapped sets of blinds William carefully unwrapped them. He then mounted hardware interfaces as a final step before confidently sliding in our new blinds -- over a new window and two sliders that had only been installed the previous day. We had to laugh at the large plastic bag of wrapping and other packing material that was accumulated and carried offsite by William. William proved to be a complete pro at his craft, but at the same time he has great people skills. We appreciated that he answered all our questions in a relaxed, unhurried manner. We also want to acknowledge and thank owner Aaron Fonda for working with us to schedule the installation of our blinds on the day immediately following our windows installation. With that type of accommodating service, within only two days we were fully back to our daily routine and able to fully enjoy our beautiful new windows and blinds.
